ok, as i've always wanted to play the gob-iron and am never gonna get round to playing the geetar, what should i ask for at my friendly musical instrument shop ? do these things come in different keys ?...so i'm a novice but i dont want to sound like a complete nerd...can anyone help ?

Hey Paul,There are two styles to play. Strait harp and cross harp.

strait harp is same harp to same key as in C harp /C song (it's the bob dylan folky style)

cross harp is five above what the key of the song is as in C harp G blues,A harp E blues. Just count up five from your harp and you will be in the right key. This is for blues style of playing. Best bet,buy a C harp and look on the internet for songs in C or G.

@adamwoodall me again, more info please, i've heard that the big river is difficult to 'bend' and that the special 20 is the one to go for ? am i trying to run before i walk ?.

if im playing a 12 bar blues in g the i ,iv, and v, will be g ,c and d rigth but in single note playin can i use others nothes beside the notes correspondin to g c and d that will be 3blow 4 blow etc... can i put some other single notes and how???

thanks Adam, im getting back into harmoica and that a perfect lick to get me int the swing of things, as far as sweet harps go I have had 2. Number 2 is the first harp my Dad bought me, the second is a Harp I bought 3 or 4 harps in and it was as you said easy to play. Anyway good video.

i started playing this week so i dont really know what im talking about but im having trouble with the single 3 draw, its like i have to suck in more than enough air through the hole to get it to make noise and it will only make noise when i bend it or im playing the 3 with either the 2 or 4 with it.

i dont think my harp is broken i bought it only a couple days ago. also its a hohner marine band in A if that helps any
