I visited a few times while he was doing this. My mom (Kelly) worked at the Sinclair store that donated the paint. @N3DDP: He's not actually a Laguna Beach native, rather from Michigan.
Wyland, if you see this, Kelly says hello. My folks and my family are alive and well in Minnesota
This was the beginning of his murals. At 25 Robert Wyland did a wonderful job in Laguna Beach. Great guy. I love his art. Not only does he do murals, he does sculpture, and.... has galleries all over the world.
Beautiful Art. Keep on Creating and Living the dream. It was fun to meet with you in SF, Lake Tahoe , LV, and of Course Hawaii.....
I enjoyed seeing this so much. The name Wyland is around so much which indicates his success, but for me it was a pleasure to hear and see where it all started. I'm happy to love the art of a man who loves his work and his chosen subjects as he does.
Thank you for posting the interview. It is awesome to see where Wyland began with his mural project, very special indeed. Bad math and all, Wyland is a wonderful artist and he is making a big difference around the world. What a beautiful mural as well. Nice job by the interviewer. Thanks again for this delightful video.

it was tiled over several years ago with a modern, enduring version of the wall. I miss the old one: It was a landmark for OC
