Long answer: the more planning and stuff was done, the more I felt like the shotgun would have just been a "ROFLMAO" weapon. Completely dominant at close range, but almost worthless at anything else. I kind of felt like that broke the already balanced weapon set. Maybe the shotty will return in the future, but I first need to find a way to make the shotty have a purpose, while remaining unique and still having the potential to compete vs the pistol/ar etc
@WeAreExstatic Whoa, fast reply! I agree its not really something that would necessarily add anything to gameplay. The only situation I could see it being of use is guarding a passage while your teammate brings back a flag. I can't remember if you brought this up in one of your articles before, but is there going to be any form of melee in the game? I think it would add to close range combat unlike the shotgun if it were implemented right (without lunge or auto aim).
@coltomatica the short answer; its all we really need :D Between the Sniper, AR and Pistol you have 3 unique weapons that all play differently and cover a specific role!
@WeAreExstatic i understand that. I realize this is supposed to be a competitive game and when you go in and add a bunch of weapons it can create imbalances. But I think there could have been more than 3. Like a shotgun, which is good at close range useless at long range. And I'm not the biggest fan of your pistol. though i like the reward you get for timing. I like a pistol with a larger clip and a slightly faster fire rate ( Halo 2 style) that still requires skill. Maybe let you dual em?
Did you ditch the idea of having a shotgun?

@coltomatica I'd just take away the bloom on the pistol and make it 12 shots (maybe im too close to Halo 1 ... ^^)
