  • best for uchimatasukashi ^_^

  • @CarlosStephenPR They forbidden only in competition, because they are relatively more dangerous to perform on an indvidual.

  • Hey everyone! What are your favorite Judo techniques? Leave a comment on my judo video letting everyone know! I want to try starting a conversation on the best Judo throw...It's on my channel, feel free to take a look and join in on the conversation!

  • Very good. Tomoaregato

  • buang ka bah?!

  • any advice for a 14 yr old boy who wants to join this?..cuz the guys at my school are really tall!

  • @BrokenSporadic ....Go for it,just be sure to practice hard but safe. With the talls guys it will be easy to get under their hips for a lot of throws.

  • hanegoshi im gonna use that

  • Kanibasami and Yamaarashi are forbidden now.

  • @scrotopowa Yama-arashi isn't?!

  • @AkitasSensei It is.

  • @scrotopowa Why are they forbidden?

  • i took an introductory judo class today and learnt sodetsurikomigoshi

  • can this kind of technique can combined wd dirty boxing

  • Okay im new to judo and i have championhips in june like what moves do you have to learn to get to yellow belt

  • @fernandez1020 In New Zealand its osoto ostoshi, ouchi gari, Moroto seio nage, Tai-otoshi, uki-otoshi, ogoshi and ouki-ashi-barai and hold kuzure kesa-gatame , hon kesa katame and kami-shiho gatame

  • i really like judo takedowns/throws

  • Thank you for this video! Im an mma fighter and need ways to take bigger and stronger guys down. This is a good start!

  • You probably have been asked this question many times before but I'll ask it anyway. Could a man who is 5'6" and is a judo master defeat a man who is 6'2" or taller and weighs 250 lbs. and doesn't know judo?

  • @Orientalscholar88 Take a look at some videos of Mifune to answer that one!

  • @Orientalscholar88

Yes, in fact he wouldn't need to be a master, not would the opponent need to be a beginner. I depends on the individuals involved. Some guys are just totally uncoordinated and easy to beat even though they're big.

Remember, Koga who is about 5.6, 70kg once came second in the all japan tournament, which is open weight, and he wasn't competing against beginners.

  • @Orientalscholar88 it all depends. a taller person is easier to knock off balance because their center of gravity is further away from the ground. plus the person with more experience would usually win against someone with no experience. but the person who always ends up winning is the person who believes that they truly can.

  • @Orientalscholar88 define judo master

  • @Orientalscholar88

im 6'3 and 250lb ive just started judo and i can tell you that 5'6 black belt has shown me every inch of the mat! face first!

  • @Orientalscholar88 I know men that are 5'5 black belts that defeat men over 6'2 black belts all the time. I would assume your talking about pure judo were there chokes and submission allowed? Our sport judo? Either way yes, it really depends on the person. Shorter guys are hard to throw because there base. Thats why in wrestling you dont see alot of guys that are tall wining. I find stocky guys with thick large hands do very well in judo. Just focus on skill and you will do great.

  • @Orientalscholar88 Yes definately I,ve seen it many times. Also i'm 6'5" and a decent judo practioner myself but have many times been beaten by opponents thats way smaller than me. Either because they quite simply were better practisioners than me or that they have out-smarted me in combat.

  • @Orientalscholar88 dude im 101lbs and I've thrown ppl 200lbs+ judo and jiu jitsu are just the best

  • @Orientalscholar88 ofcourse but you know how to take the other one down . and hwo to controll him

  • I wanna learn judo!

  • o osotogari nao é estranho eu faço judo e so faxa roxa o osoto gari é um dos golpes mais faceis do judo

  • haha that poor guy

  • some of these throws we do in wrestling i didnt even know they are also in judo

  • Very good video...I do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I respect a lot Judo....and I want learn judo some day...

Like Jiu Jitsu, judo is a great and powerfull martial-art, a lifestyle....

  • What are the most practical techniques in a street fight (no gi, or clothes pulling)

  • that is one well trained uke... he just goes with the throw, i mean flow...

  • Al solito: i Giapponesi continuano a temere le imitazioni: tagliano la fase preparatoria di ogni proiezione: quella del kuzushi, fondamentale per comprendere la tecnica. Meno male che chi si allena non ha bisogno dei loro video...

  • why did he sweep for o soto gurma when gurma means wheel?

  • @liverpoolboiharry A lot of people get hung up on that; a sweep is not a negative part of the technique - particularly when it's incidental.

  • question, this guy is saying GOSH not GOSHI now, I will trust his pronunciation as he is japanese, BUT I do hear other Japanese saying GOSHI, many people at my BJJ school who are judo players say gosh and tosh, what gives?

  • @RightWingCon81 My guess would simply be regional accents...

  • judo is so fucking sick.

  • amazing!!! wonderful!!! Japanese martial arts!!!!

  • geil

this is great and were good

  • are some of these throws jus for aestitics or are they actually effective?

  • @cardonaman I've used most myself, so effective IMHO!

  • aay kataguruma....that really hurt....i know

  • My first judo teacher was 60 years old, that guy jumped arround doing flips and shit like i've never seen before (or after) in my life.

    Huge respect to that man.

  • beautifull

  • kataguruma is The F.U

  • Beautiful!

  • I swear to god did they ever learn break falls?

  • hahahha

id hate to be thrown around so much like that guy!

  • you learn to breakfall with your arm if or wen you attend.

  • write ' jujitsu versailles (78) ' for a fresh great jujitsu video

  • i wanna learn judooo

  • he's wrong. kosotogari is both legs. o soto is one leg.

  • @vnrboomer530 No, Ko-soto-gari is not with both legs, although a variation described as nidan-ko-soto-gari is...

  • @vnrboomer530 Both legs sweep is o soto guruma

  • @vnrboomer530 wrong, dont comment if you dont know.

  • the guy hes throwing is having a bad day

  • this is the good stuff, and its very handy too. I have a judo exam tomorrow, so ima gonna use this:D

  • they kinda look the sale

  • everything in judo is using the gi. doesn't work well for the street.

  • ain`t it funny how all the words end with "o,shi"...because just b4 the drop they say "o,SHIT" but they never get 2 finish, hence forth causing it 2 sound like O,Shi. LMAO,am i right or am i right XD

  • How watcfull =p

  • TOSH !

  • oshi means throw i think

  • lol i think oshi is similar to the english "ing" which we use in a lot of words

  • lol 100% percent man, thats how it is with me anyway

  • where's the original this one is too slow?

  • Great Clip.. Thanks!!!!!

  • wow this is amesome i really want to learn judo know.

  • great video! it's going to help me for my training.

  • nice video

  • wow!! uchimatasukashi is an uchi mata countermove!!! damnn! genius!

  • Awesome clip, thanks for the post.

  • The torei is mukai sensei he is my sensei at the Kodokan .

  • @nucopia you are extremely lucky!

  • @AkitasSensei Thank you !

  • I think it is all about dat dakiwakare!!! LOL

  • dude its a o soto gari not a ohsotogari..

  • His caption said o soto gari. The japanese commercial's caption said ohsotogari. It's a phonetic romanization of a word that has no solid spelling with roman letters. Either works, but if you'll note, the one you're correcting is the one chosen by the producers of the japanese commercial.

  • It's spelled in japanese romaji. Like shitake mushroom vs shiitake mushroom

  • nice work

  • Dakiwakare...that's what it's all about, lol.

  • Nice Video, I like the slow motion breakdowns. That's something most other judo videos on here do not show you. I am a little dissapointed that the setups aren't a little better articulated. The most important part of all these throws is the setup. That's true for most judo/jujitsu moves. It would be nice to see another second of video prior to the throw being executed.

  • is that a training dummy?

  • nope rofl

  • haha no

  • no, he is breakfalling, so it cant be

  • No, you can tell by the ukemi that that's a human lol.

  • the seo-nage... look at the guys ass, too far behind... great throws but the seonage is too old school...

    Judo rulz

  • ur right do u go to judo calss?

  • don't make me laugh...

if u don't like this seoi nage .. i bet it's bcoz u can't.. just look at the big champions they all used such techniques.. and about old school.. it's the best.. not the wrestling like judo u c nowadays..

  • Old school??? the seoi nage in the video is the real seoi nage. Do you practice Judo???

  • er hw come the O soto gari looks wierd?

  • Don't know why it's listed as Oh-soto-gari, but the actual video looks fine to me?

Perhaps it's because they're in white it's hard to distinguish between the O-soto-gari and an O-soto-guruma?!

  • i feel sorry for the guy who's been ass-kicked

  • Yeah he defitenely got paid well lol

  • they are throwing me 3days a week(1hour) but its not that painfull if you know how to fall:)

  • yeah, but it also depends on wich mat u fall ^^, I'm also thrown 4days a week, but because of the thin mat it still hurts sometimes ^^

  • it has to be traditional fake-rice tatami, than, you dont even feel it

  • wen u fall ur supposed to slp the map with the free hand right?

  • that will come in handy later on when u learn one of the more core principles of positional advantage of falling on top of your opponent. It gets more technical in the advanced levels

  • i know ppl think that john cena's FU hurts but it doesnt

  • It's actually really fun. :)

  • Listen, students.

The first and most important lesson is how to break-fall!

    What all throws or counters.

The man that is being thrown always tries to have his hand slap the surface first.

This lessens the main bodies impact on the surface.

Watch and learn. Study the choices the men make.

  • UKEMI RULEZ!!!!!

  • This video goes way to fast for me, how are you suppose to learn the moves when they go to fast, and some of these throw's I never herd of before even though I started martial arts yesterday but I went every week to watch my friends cousin do matial arts and they never taught her that before.

  • whats the name for a arm/hip throw and where is it in the vid?

  • Arm/Hip throw? Tsuri-goshi do you mean? Or are you meaning something else?

  • lol i guess so.

  • @UnderstandingAll well there are lots of arm/him throws... but the hip toss that i think your referring to is Koshi Guruma.... but most tosses in judo could be characterized as hip throws... like you have ippon seoi nage... or O Goshi... there are tons of hip throws in judo... hope this helps

  • love the harai goshi im a ju-jutsuka

  • HELL YEA THNKS FORE THE NAME THROW

  • the seoiotoshi looks a lot like a drop seoinage to me... and wasn't kanibasami banned??

  • Otoshi means drop... So 'shoulder-drop'... But, "dropping seoi-nage" would usually refer to the two knees, ryo-hiza-seoi-nage... (I'll have the tutorial video up for this shortly...)

  • Oh... And a banned technique doesn't mean a technique that shouldn't be learned... Judo is not all about the sport of judo, after all ;)

  • @AkitasSensei why was it banned? what is dangerous? did it not work well? err... sm other reason???

  • @AkitasSensei why was it banned? what is dangerous? did it not work well?

  • Most people mislabel seoi otoshi as "drop seoi nage" which is incorrect. The key to making seoi otoshi what it is, is the dropping motion. It is the drop in seoi otoshi that makes the throw, unlike seoi nage, which is still a lifting motion. You can drop very low, or to both knees and still lift your opponent, in which case it would be a "drop seoi nage". But that drop would simply to be to get UNDER your opponent. IF that dropping motion CAUSES the throw, then it is seoi otoshi.

  • lol kosotogake pws

    whis is hardcore

  • everything sounds like hadouken and shroyuken to me

  • Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku!!

    Sonic Boom!!

  • Guys from the Kodokan This is text book

  • i hope those dudes take cod liver oil

  • pub scarps + judo throws = brilliant.

  • why do you hope those dudes take cod liver oil?

  • (02:23) you can see that he did not brake the fall at all..

  • looks like he did to me

  • Yeah, and me...

  • really good thanks for putting this up!

  • is yama arashi like harai goshi??

    cant tell coz of angle

  • Harai Goshi is sweeping Hip

Yama Arashi is mountain storm which i believe is similar to a morote (2 handed) seionage with a leg sweep included. Or in this vid (3:10) Tsurikomigoshi with a sweep.

  • it's amazing that the tori's technique is so well performed that the uke looks like a dummy in the slow-mo

  • wow. very nice.... learn how to counter makikomi after watching your video

  • there is no SUKINAKE

    my favorite

    Porfido

  • Probably you mean Sukui-Nage

  • Kanibasami, is it possible you could explain the theory of how that works to me. i love the way it looks. but it seems somewhat i dunno. matrixy

  • Its hard to work out how you would do it in contest.. but its just a scissor movement while leaning back and pulling the jacket down.

  • Uki otoshi is wrong I think is Sumi Otoshi

  • thanx man.

  • they look the same!!

  • To someone who does not train in judo Im sure they might all the look the same to you. they are very different.

  • Think also, it's the first few throws that are quite similar to the untrained eye - takes until the 6th throw to change to a different direction!

  • There are slight variations in the throws, watch the 'throwers' legs and what he does with the 'victim' (uki)'s arms.

  • yeah some pretty much do but for example from a standard hip throw you can modify it and reach from under the arm pit and it is somehow a completely different name. (I think correct me as you wish)

  • Judo got me to the UFC.

  • I've never seen the uchi mata sukashi performed with such ease thats really smooth and a really hard one to get.

  • Would've been nice to see the set-up for the throw, usually it's where people have the most difficulty with.

  • The instructor didn't teach us the jump throw (the one where you grab the guy with both legs and throw him down that way.) That was brutal. One throw is a modified fireman's carry (in wrestling it is low throw.) Pick the poor bastard up in a fireman's carry and slam him to the ground.

  • You mean kanibasami at 2.07?

Maybe because the technique is illegal in some associations.

  • (2:53) FU in Judo? Awesome! Just kidding.

  • I'm havin trouble with my Tai Otoshi, any advice?

  • On here pretty difficult... But you gotta remember that Tai Otoshi is a hand throw... It's usually shown as a leg throw... Use the body dropping (the name of the throw) to aid your hands in the throw... The leg is incidental; the throw is NOT a leg throw, despite 99% of sensei's demonstrating it that way...

  • wait... isn't kanibasami illegal?
