The first 10 minutes wasn't propaganda. The first 10 minutes was Michael Ruppert's theories/opinions regarding peak oil and energy.... you are actually missing a significant section because this program goes through the theories of each person attending this "discussion". You are missing Michael Ruppert's entire section....
I must admit that is a very scary scenario, but it is logic. What if humans are here on earth to build the next dominant species... and you all know we always want more and more, never enough. This is scary because they could live and repair itself again and again.

@Dirtfire That does look like an interesting challenge for AI - but it is quite controlled. There are loads of data from countless Jeopardy! games upon which to build good AI algorithms. Mr Jennings and Mr Rutter may be handed their heads. Feb 14th will tell.
What AI cannot handle is the unexpected. What if at the last second they decided to play "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" My prediction would be that the two human players would fair well, while Watson would fail spectacularly.
There is already Robots made. Japan has already started making Robots for the Elderly. But in 2030's there robots are going to have a brain that learns off humans. They may turn bad or may be good. It's creepy though.

@grraadd I agree. I heard a quote from one of the major IT companies recently saying it would take 30 years at the earliest to build a supercomputer on par with the human brain. There are far more imminent threats to be concerned about.

This is a very important issue. Right now still computers are stupid; what I mean by stupid is that computers only can perform known methods of calculations, i.e. it can't figure things out by itself, e.g. computers can't prove mathematical theorems. However, none for sure whether it's possible to build a true AI. If we build one, particularly one smarter than us, then games over, i.e. the end of humanity.
Also note that in my university QC (quantum computation) gets the biggest fundings. When we can make a quantum computer, we can probably do AI. In my opinion we aren't not gonna understand complete human thoughts (or cognition; intellects, etc) conceptually any soon. However, with QC we can make very small computers, so we can mimic physicality of a human brain mechanically, i.e. we can make a machine brain which works similar as a human brain.
Full automation or mechanization is not a threat to humans...Its a threat to the monetary system..
Technology can be used for productive or destructive purposes.. That is our choice.. And to think that machines will some day "rule" over us is ridiculous.. Robots, androids, and machines can free us from all those boring jobs.. Thus money becomes irrelevant... We need to embrace this...
This vid isn't about automation nor mechanization. It's about AI (artificial intelligence). Automations & mechanizations traditionally have replaced muscle works; even computers aren't really AI, they can merely perform known methods of calculations. The concept of AI is different from any other automations. If we have AI smarter than us, it will replace us; note that even if it's totally benevolent, it will still replace us since with it we don't need to think anymore.
In addition it's true that a perfect automation will free ppl from boring jobs, cause ppl will get fired, i.e. no longer you will work, i.e. no longer you will have way of making living.
@DrRonPaul2012 no offence to anyone out there exspecially you but i have noticed alot of propaganda on the history channel & the discovery channel we aren't even safe trying to learn things without corruption everywhere! it is a crying shame~
