Kin is an 'interesting' place, not very friendly to tourists. There has been some improvement in the city roads and infrastructure but it's a long way from world class, for the money I would choose to visit about any other African country for the scenery and wildlife. But if you're into corruption, abuse of power, extortion by police and officials, and threat of violence then this is the place! The villages are totally different but getting to them is a challenge, hence our aviation services
That can sometimes happen at the international airport, Ndjili, but not really at Ndolo which is the 'downtown' domestic only airport. I wouldn't say 20-30, but you may be approached 5 or 6 times at Ndjili by people that want to carry your bags or claim to 'help' you with customs. I pretty much ignore them and walk through, but it can be pretty intimidating if you haven't been through that before. Thanks for viewing!
@TheSebulba1978 I got mobbed by some 20 customs officials when arriving at Ndjili airport at 2am last year. Quit intimidating since I was alone and my first time in Africa! Just make sure you have enough copies of whatever kind of permits (yellow fiever card, travel permit, invitation letter, solvability prove, working permit,...) even for a domestic flight from Ndolo to Matadi I needed to show them! For in case they invent new rules! Congolese custom officials are the worst at the airports!
that runway really needs a new paint job
