All analog with a design dating back to 1967, not that many digital consumer products back then. A bunch of patterns are in circuitry and then the rhythm preset buttons choose combinations of the different rhythms going to the synthesized drum voices... or famously you can push more than one button like Jarre and get superimposed rhythms.
I seriously doubt it's ever seen a digit!
