  • Funky, but I don't think I'll be listening to it again anytime soon

  • señores y señoras con ustedes Lloyd Brevett bajo, contrabajo

  • Looks like a mixture of Morgan Freeman and Danny Glover on drums.

  • Excelente!!! >:-D

  • rip lloyd :-(

  • @masterprog26 He's still alive

  • @Dalek1230 The Drummer? No he passed on a few months back

  • Terribly good!

  • man with the drumpet it sound awful

  • @yualmer Different my brother but not awful.

  • I'd love to be able to play the guitar (or any of their instruments for that matter) as well as him. Is that standard eadgbe tuning?

  • nindot ah! gusto na no on magpatahi og tuxedo nga itom og mopalit og walther ppk. og mo inom og martini gi oyog dili gihalo. hehehe

  • this isn´t morgan freeman this is Lloyd Knibb

  • Some nice soloing on there. Poor Brevette never gets to solo, Jamaican Jazz don't allow for the bassman to free up.

BTW : who is the brother on guitar?

  • @Deckswax

the guitar player is Devon James I think

  • @Deckswax bass players in jamaican music usually just sit back and groove but you have some exceptions Like listen to aston Barett's stuff (bob marley and the wailers) his basslines change constantly through the course of the song lol

  • @3star2nr Ok, but i'm really thinking about in this context (Jazz-Ska) I see space in this set where Brevette and the drummer could've expressed themselves as well, unlike in the past when it was a one track tape and two minutes of playing time.

BTW: chaps the 1965 Studio One version is my favorite.

  • @Deckswax There may be times as far as musical arrangement when there could be a bridge for a bass and/or drum solo, but the Skatelites still consider themselves a dance-hall band, and to keep the people dancing (and they still dance!) the rhythm backbone needs to stay tight. At the end of the shows, and the members are announced, they get mad props; they didn't show off, but after a whole set, everyone loves on them, and knows that they're mad powerhouses supplying a deep groove.

  • Simplemente Respeto.

  • this version of the bond theme aint bad at all not as good as the origanal but thats y its the origanal

  • not as good as the original? this is music man! and other style...here you have improvisation, i mean, real music...not a music that has been done for a film...

  • morgan freeman on drums :p

  • morgan freeman everywhere ;)

  • @wodoza Sad news out of Kingston, Jamaica today as original The Skatalites drummer Lloyd Knibb has passed away after a battle with liver cancer. He was 80.

  • @curtesm45 What!!! Oh dear!... i've always considered Knibbs to be up there with all the great drummers no matter what the idiom.

When he wasn't on a session you could tell straight away. Boom! thunk! the shimmering cymbals you know... Burro-Ska, Mambo-Ska, or regular Ska & ballads Lloyd was it, the master.

  • @wodoza

sorry but the drummer is Lloydie Knibbs the only drummer for Skatalites until a few months back when I passed on.....

  • i dig it

  • those horns are awesome !!!

  • foda !!

  • My favorite version of James Bond Theme!
