1.The music scene wasn't what is was in 1994, the music was more aggressive and hard core which is the same reason why their wasn't a woodstock in the 1980's or 1970's.
i went to this and the mistake was handing candles out to these folks. they passed around little white hannukah candles for us to hold up during the hendrix memorial, in a group that large there's bound to be firebugs.

This is what happens when the vendors exploit the concertgoers by charging outrageous prices for food and water, and also the fact that some of these bands have a lot of trashy fans(ICP and Limp Bizkit the main examples). This is a recipe for disaster. It's safe to say that the Woodstock organizers were practically braindead for allowing those two acts to play. If it doesn't come back i couldn't care less, the music would suck: rappers, crappy modern country, and Disney shit. Good riddence.

All of those kids were being fleeced by the promoters of the event. The whole place was fenced in so no one who didnt have a $150 ticket could get in....No one could bring their own water!! That woodstock was in the spirit of making money, you couldn't bring your own food and water in.
I was there for 2 days and I spent more on food than the $150 ticket to get in. A hamburger cost over $20 ffs, water was $4 and that summer the heat was insane. People were being sent to the hospital because they couldn't afford to buy water anymore.
When asked to do something about it because people were getting hurt, the police just shrugged. They did a great job of protecting people from the psychos and rapists too. All they were really interested in was making sure people weren't trying to sneak their own stuff in.

@repelghosts I was there and the organizers deserved every bit of the carnage they got. Tell people they can't bring anything in and then rape them for 4 days in the blazing sun. I was buying bags of ice and poking a hole in the bottom for fluids till they caught on to people doing that or they ran out but you couldn't get ice at a certain point. Worst organized festival I've ever been to.

Danced my ass off for hours...green pyramids were controlling the entire situation...it was verry niice! And then the fires broke out...and my buzz was killed...and we drove the 6+ hrs back to DC...where it was safe...& we could get a drink of water for free & take a dump without wading through piles of toxic waste. GOOD TIMES.

This is what happens when the vendors exploit the concertgoers by charging outrageous prices for food and water, and also the fact that some of these bands have a lot of trashy fans(ICP and Limp Bizkit the main examples). This is a recipe for disaster. It's safe to say that the Woodstock organizers were practically braindead for allowing those two acts to play. If it doesn't come back i couldn't care less, the music would suck: rappers, crappy modern country, and Disney shit. Good riddence.

That woodstock was in the spirit of making money, you couldn't bring your own food and water in.
I was there for 2 days and I spent more on food than the $150 ticket to get in. A hamburger cost over $20 ffs, water was $4 and that summer the heat was insane. People were being sent to the hospital because they couldn't afford to buy water anymore.

I've never been to a concert before and the idea of going to one for 5 days with some of my favorite artist of the 90's would have been badass...as long as no riots occur and water isn't too expensive. What a shame ,idiots ruin Woodstock.I was walking from the other stage(Megadeth i think) and we were seing fires everywhere so we decided to go see what was goiing on , people were steeling merchandise ,puting rigs on fire , throwing full bottles at people. it was pretty sad to watch.During the day they gave us candles to light up for the jimi hendrix tribute... im not sure if the drugs and alcool had to do with all of this or is it just the fact that americans dont know how to behave?

You couldn't sneak water or food in. People got drugs in by hiding it in their bodies, but you can't hide water that way. Record heat and $4 for a bottle of water, people were passing out right and left and STILL they wouldn't lower the cost. The vendors were all fleecing the shit out of us and people were in danger of dying because of dehydration.

You could drink and eat outside the gates, but if you wanted to eat or drink while watching the music you had to pay for their overpriced garbage. Oh and there are still plenty of good music festivals out there today. Bonnaroo comes to mind.

@bobinchainz Man fuck that, the security wouldnt allow you to bring any water or food you had to go buy a slice of pizza for $12 and a bottle of water for $4. Not to mention it was so damn hot outside. You know im kinda glad it ended because those corporations were just making money off of us and Woodstock is suppose to be about peace not greedy coporations ripping us off. And besides todays music mostly sucks.

Actually asshole, watch Merchants of Cool, look at the price of water, food and clothes and understand that the show was only one giant commercial and then try to understand why what happen was brilliant. I was to young to even go but even I can understand why this happen.

And just for the record that 5 years thing only happened once their was no Woodstock in the 1980's or the 1970's and their shouldn't have been one in 1999 because the timing was off unlike in 1994 &1969. Plus everyone knew after woodstock 99 their would never be another Woodstock.

@repelghosts I was there and the organizers deserved every bit of the carnage they got. Tell people they can't bring anything in and then rape them for 4 days in the blazing sun. I was buying bags of ice and poking a hole in the bottom for fluids till they caught on to people doing that or they ran out but you couldn't get ice at a certain point. Worst organized festival I've ever been to.

@ThornBoyz2207 I am so with you on this! I paid $157 fucking dollars to be robbed by these a-holes! In my opinion, the best part of the entire festival was the drum show! Danced my ass off for hours...green pyramids were controlling the entire situation...it was verry niice! And then the fires broke out...and my buzz was killed...and we drove the 6+ hrs back to DC...where it was safe...& we could get a drink of water for free & take a dump without wading through piles of toxic waste. GOOD TIMES.
