@Arajack when you change a material in the hyper shade it will update everything that has that material applied, e.g. if all my polygon objects were assigned the lambert 1, if I then edit lambert 1 (like change the colour) everything with lamber 1 assigned will change as-well.
@Arajack When you make any changes like adding textures sometimes they wont display in the perspective view if there too big, or you need to go into textured view by pressing the short cut "6" in the view port. Also using mental ray shaders they don't allways display in the view port but most materials should display. If they dont show don't worry too much as when you're rendering you will usually render thing out to see how they look anyway instead of relying on the perspective view.
yes you're right , i see them all when its rendered .
But you know what .being my selfe new in Maya and after struggling to find an answer on youtube and all kind forums , i got not help at all these 2 days.
but yesterday and after trying to switch things on and off 100 times , i stopped by the switch ( presp > shading > hardware texturing : i switched it on )
case closed
:D
thanks for your help bro , and i hope to get that level in maya to model cool stuff
@Arajack :D glad you fixed it :), best way to learn is by having problems like this and spending ages figuring it out pressing all the button and seeing what the do :P.
I resently had a problem with the lambert 1, I dont know what I touched but it turned like in a flat color and it turn green, all the new objets that I created became that color and i couldnt undo it!! is there a way to reset it? or is there an explanation for it? im new in maya?
@Prissy121 Hi, the lamber_1 is lake any other shader, you will have probably changed the colour but you can change it back. The reason everything new it this new green colour is because every new mesh you create is assigned the Lamber_1 by default. Usually I sometimes change the lamber_1 to a green colour just so I know which object in the scene I haven't made/assigned there own shaders.
@youmayatutorials so how come i cant delete it? when ever i try theres a red dialog telling me i cant deleted it, and i wanna have it back the way it was, is there a way to reset it?
@Prissy121 You cant delete it as its part of the default set-up, much like you cant delete the default cameras, the best thing to do is just assign new shaders if you want different results
Subscribed! Finally i find a tutorial in proper English where some inarticulate american doesn't keep saying "kinda" in every sentence, "this guy here" when referring to a 3d object, and the redundant "let's just go ahead and..." over and over again!
when i do the translate connection between the two spheres they go in the exact same place. Do you know how i could fix that? great tutorial by the way very helpfull
how to change a material at the hypershade and at the same time it got effected on the object ?

1st Thanks for you're replay .
2ndly that what what i'm talking about ( materials are not updating at the perspective view , unless i hit to render )
that time i can see all my changes of materials .
yesterday i spent maybe more that 5 h searching for any solution for this matter .

@Dragoby this might happen if you don't freeze transformations on the spheres before you join them :)
