It's not easy to translate Barker's work to film well. I'd love to see The Great and Secret Show and Everville made into films, but key elements such as a man masturbating on his own feces to create minions wouldn't go over to well with the general audience. They should have never scrapped the project for The Thief of Always. Book of Blood was okay, I watched it twice, which is very rare for most films of this last decade, especially a direct to video film. Nightbreed still rocks!

Barker does write for children. The Thief of Always and the Abart series. They are fantasy. He writes more fantasy than he does horror.

What I worry about is doing something to be known, so I will live for as long as possible -- through others.
