I am Khmer Krom and I'm only learning this now about my country. It's sad to see that the vietnamese government are trying to deplete indigenous khmers people of their culture and religion. Now I understand why my dad, every year, go to Washington DC to protest...so that our voices can be heard...so that we Khmer Kroms can be recognized and distinguished as an individual country.

As a Vietnamese, I whole heartedly agree with you. The Viet Govt is corrupted and racist. They need to live up to their agreement and give the indigenous people their rights as people.
First, teach secretly your language, culture, history, etc., at home (parents to children). When the communism will fall in VN, then you will have the right of teaching and preserving your identity. Don't worry, the world will change.

Sadly, there are some Vietnamese citizen who are racist towards the Krom people and condone with the Viet Govt's actions.
