Some time before the events of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Ventus served as Master Xehanort's apprentice. The Keyblade wielder was sent to the Keyblade Graveyard, where he was forced by his master to face several Neoshadows. Ventus lost the battle, and was knocked unconscious. Master Xehanort then proceeded to use his Keyblade to unlock Ventus's heart, resulting in Vanitas's formation.

Terra and Xehanort look almost exactly the same except for the hair which is white and slightly longer. its possible that is terra because in the KH2 secrect ending theres a part in which terra's eyes turn the same color as Xemnas's eyes, i think Xemnas is terra's nobody, and if you read the secret reports from KH358 days it says that xion took the form of ven to Xemnas' eyes which means he mustve had a strong connection to ven, (xion changes form to your eyes depending on which sora you met)

I agree with this vid. I always thought that in some way Vanitas and Xehanort were connected. Reasons why? well, Vanitas means "vanity" or emptiness" His name was chosen for the meaning and how it sounds like Ventus, possibly cuz he knows about him. Emptiness sounds like "No Heart", an anagram of Xehanort CONFIRMED by Nomura himself. If you had no heart, wouldn't you feel empty? And also, it says that Xemnas, Xehanort's nobody, saw Xion as Ventus, his "friend" who Vanitas seems to know about.

He is Young Xehanort

Ansem the Wise's apprentice, young Xehanort.

Ansem founds him laying on Radiant Garden all beat up, with no memory of who he is. , young Vanitas will have no memory of who he is, but will only remember the name of Xehanort. In Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, from the very beggining, he was always there with Riku, giving him darkness. This would explain the smililarity to Vanitas's armor with Riku's armor.

As of now it looks like either Terra is Xehanort or Vanitas is Xehanort. The problem with either theory, however, is that we don't know how they would lose their ability to wield the keyblade, because Xemnas and Xehanort don't have that ability.

Xion can't exist without Roxas. Roxas was is Sora's nobody. Sora lost his heart and Roxas was born from him in KH1.

Both theories that Vanitas is Xehanort and that Terra is Xehanort have a lot of evidence that support them.

Examples:

Terra is Xehanort Reasons

1. Vanitas says that Terra will stop being Terra

2. Terra is shown transforming with darkness in the Jump Festa 2010 trailer

3. He has similar physical features to those of Xemnas.

Vanitas is Xehanort reasons:

1. His face has been purposely hidden in every trailer, except where his eye is revealed.

2. He has similar features to Riku's dark form.

Yeah but the theory still makes sense, his connection to modern day Xehanort is pretty uncanny, the only reason why he shares the same suit as Riku is because Riku only had that form while under the control of Xehanort' heartless, therefore making him a recreation of his former self, there is obviously some amnesia involved in the story the one thing that doesnt come clear is how he would share xehanorts skin colour and eye colour :P

After looking at the scan showing a little part of a Vanitas' eye, Vanitas may not be Xehanort, cos' there's no really similarities. His eye is yellow (like Xigbar's, Saïx's, or even Xehanort's), with a thick black eyebrow, much like a girl one.

A girl eye, a boy body. Perhaps Vanitas is a "faceless" clone of Even created for Master Xehanort ? (Similarity with Xion, the "faceless" clone of Vexen created for Xemnas.)

This could be true, but that would mean since Vanitas is a keyblade user, it would mean that Ansem and Xemnas would also be Keyblade users. He might not remember that he was, but Sora didnt know he was when he first got it, and neither did Roxas. That's the only flaw i see with this theory.

Hm, since a Nobody haven't got heart, Roxas shouldn't be able to be a Keyblade weilder. But, he may feel the power of the strong heart of his original form, Sora, or maybe he has one. It's a little the same thing for Xion, but the difference is that she's just a puppet and not a Nobody.

Xemnas, him, probably doesn't feel it, the power of his ancien heart, means that he's not able to wield one.

Xemnas also refers to Aqua as "old friend" which in Vanitas' case could be because they were rivals, or that they sometime in the past were friends. Also the nonsense about Vanitas not being tall enough... Look what happend to Riku in 1 year.

My theory is, that Vanitas (maybe with MX) kills Aqua and Ventus in BBS, Which is why Terra seeks revenge in KH2 FM+. He must've survived some epic battle in the end, resulting in losing his memory. The only thing he remembers is his masters name Xehanort, which he then takes upon himself when DiZ finds him. Since he has lost his memory he doesn't remember how to wield a keyblade.
