  • EXCELENTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

  • God bliss her!

  • what language is this song in?

  • @ColorfulStephany Latino!

  • @ColorfulStephany latin I assume

  • So what are the final lyrics after the Agnus Dei? It goes "Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona eis requiem" and then she says one line twice. At 2:54, what does this mean?

  • @Archangel777Catholic never mind, I found them.

Pie Iesu, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona eis requiem.

(Have mercy Jesus, He who takes away the sins of the world, grant them rest)

Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona eis requiem, sempiternam.

(Lamb of God, He who takes away the sins of the world, grant the rest, forever)

    Aaaah!

    (Aaaah!)

  • @2fingertype75 So sorry to hear about your mom, I wish my mom could have heard this when she was dying, I think it would have given her peace, too. God bless.

  • She DOES have the voice of an angel! I wonder how young she was when she first started singing. I bet she was already singing as a baby! I love her singing!

  • I love her lungs.

  • Charlotte is the greatest

  • Es la mejor soprano que escuché en mi vida! LA MEJOR!

  • The way she sings it, I cry! Her voice is fanmazing.

  • When I hear this song, I feel there is a God.

  • @heihachiable

  • God must have given her inspiration to sing this song when Charlotte was at her age.

  • wow her voice is so great

  • Latin Invocation of Jesus used in Prayer

Lamb of God, Lamb of God

Lamb of God, Lamb of God,

    You who take away the sins of the world;

    Grant them peace,

    Grant them peace.

    Peace everlasting, everlasting

  • @DitaVonMarilyn Latin :)

  • If angels could sing this is what they would sound like

  • She looks very nervous

  • wonder if charlotte church will go back to classical music

  • You have a gift Charlotte, recognise and cherish it, look after it, you will appreciate it more, the older you become.Wonderfull

  • Magnifique j'adooore sa voix !!!!

  • she was amazin at this age (:

shame she went away from opera

  • is this amazin piece part of the soundtrack of the movie the passion??

  • maybe it was written for Sarah Brightman, if she is like 700 years old. :)

  • @avatarng lol

  • I love her

  • gotta love our char x

  • Pie Jesu is really old, it dates back to the 13th century ... unfortunately I don't know who wrote it. Wikipedia says Thomas of Celano, but frankly it could be anyones guess.

  • SHE WAS IN JAPAN!?!?!?!?!?!? Rofl xD

  • Gabriel Faure' wrote this as part of his "Requiem in D Minor" around 1890

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber

  • @cathryn1975 Are you sure that Webber is the composer of Pie Jesu?

  • @CptKawa Yes - it was written for sarah brightman originally =)

  • @CptKawa Um, no. That would be Gabriel Faure. 19th century and everything.

  • may i know the composer of this Pie jesu?

  • Listening to Charlotte's voice leaves one awakened, refreshed, renewed, & more alive. Her voice can cleanse one's soul-witnessed by the tears of joy streaming copiously from your eyes.

  • @michaelsimonson44 hmm damn well said, it makes you think

  • how old is she here?

  • @Fonzi79 14 I think

  • wow

  • Charlotte Church is back, the new album 'Back To Scratch' is out on November 1st

  • @CChurchFan Is she actually singing with her classical voice or is it really breathy like I heard on that new song snow?

  • @flowersings

You should check out her channel, there's all you have to know and also a new video

  • @CChurchFan is pie jesu a funeral song too?

  • @CChurchFan It's about time! Thanks for the info. Is it gonna be pop or opera? I love her on both.

  • @CChurchFan I checked out the websites. Her singing style is still much better, but It's not classical by far. I don't think she's back quite yet, but there's still hope.

  • @CChurchFan well yeah she is....she's very talented and had a really super voice!!

  • my windows just broke

    now thats singing

  • OH MY GOD!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!

  • Ohhhh Charlotte, you have such a beautifull voice.......

If I may say so: you should do much more with that. For me you are the Maria Callas from the 21th century.

  • Is it possable that as she aged that she lost her abilties or maybe she damaged her vocal cords somehow? There's alot of young voices singing choral type music, I hope she can still sing cause she truely had the voice of an angel

  • Oh, how she sings this song! Thank you, God!

  • god what is she wearing??

    wonderful voice :)

  • @ketgirl34 Hahaha! I thought the exact thing.. Operatic performance. hahahaaha but she has an ASTOUNDING voice!

    :D

  • This song is one of my favorite songs in the entire world Charlotte Church sonds alot better then Sarah Brightman when she sings this song. Charlotte Church was 13 when she was signed a recording contract Sarah Brightman is in her late 40's and she sounds like a 6 year old when she sings. Charlotte sounds twice her age when she sings.

  • What's happened to Charlotte now? In North America we don't hear much about her at all. Is she still singing?

  • She's alive and well! She hosts TV shows and swears like nothing on earth! Personally I like her and she is funny (to me!). However, I think that she has lost favour with many people.

  • @colinlyne I honestly dont think we've heard the last of her in the singing world lol

She's only like 23 I mean Sarah brightman didn't resurface til a few years ago...lol and yes I agree shes hillarious I download eps of her show (they don't show it in the USA)

  • @pg86 what show?

  • well, she made a choice, that must be respected, she didnt want to sing for

delirious old folks anymore, Munching their dry scones

  • My God, she had so much potential if she stayed with opera/classical. Listen to how mature she sounds in this clip. So beyond her age. The lure of pop culture/music is so strong. I think she could have been better or at least as good as Sarah Brightman.

  • I'll never hear anyone sing this wonderfully...

  • i Love that girl was amazing but what happen with her!!!!???

  • heaven angels sing through your voice Charlotte!!!!!!!!!!! nothing else to add except that thanks to show us how paradise looks like!!!!!!!!!

  • Her voice is just beautiful! I like it.

  • Oh my God, Charlotte Church, the first girl whom I noticed from TV when I was like what,7? And since then, I couldn't forget her voice.

  • You who takest away the sins of the world

    Grant us peace

    Grant us peace

    Peace everlasting, everlasting .....

  • angel

  • *Translation* Lord, have mercy Lord, have mercy You who take away the sins of the world Grant them peace Grant them peace Lamb of God, Lamb of God Lamb of God, Lamb of God You who take away the sins of the world Grant them peace Grant them peace Peace everlasting, everlasting
  • what does pie jesu mean?

  • @lambournledge Something like Blessed, ,o,r Precious Jesus. That's what I read.

  • @lambournledge Pie Jesu" is the Latin vocative for "Pious Jesus" though it is usually translated as "O Sweet Jesus" as part of invocations in prayer

  • i love this Girl!!!

  • She has truly grown as a beautiful singer, and as a beautiful lady. I wish I had her talent (:

  • I literally got goose bumps. I look forward to her next classical album, as she has apparently not stopped classical training.

  • WOW! She has always been amazing and always will be. Such a huge voice

  • I totally agree amazing for 14 at the time

  • I'm having difficulty in searching for the right words to describe the way I feel after listening to this stunning voice. Absolutely spell-binding. Probably the best ever.

  • The world shall never forget this beautiful singer !!!!

  • she has always been able 2 sing i luv her voice

  • Beautiful voice :)

  • great video!! I wan to seing like that!!

  • Fantàstico!!!

  • Her Sound Just Flows Like An Angels. Absolutley Fantastic!

  • did she rite this?

  • Andrew Lloyed Webber wrote it. It's apart of his Requim which origanlly preformed by Sarah Brightnam.

  • I agree with Pianodarling1947 BUT this is Lloyd Webber's version of the original which was written by Thomas of Celano back in the 13th Century and was part of a Latin poem called Dies Irae or Day of Wrath.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOO!!

itz an old song from requiem

  • Tearful Memories

    Thank You...

  • She's great! amazing voice

  • shes AMAZiNG

  • Muyy bella

  • She was only 14 yrs old when she sang pie jesu. now she is 22 and her voice is even much more better. beautiful...absolutely angelic voice.

  • mi piace :D bella ragazza :)

  • Who composed this version of Pie Jesu?

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber

  • this beautiful tune reminds me of of when i missed my precious little nephews christening x and when he was born x

  • Amen

  • She is the best singer for this song. The worst is Hayley Westenra. I hate to say it but Hayley is NOT the right person for this song. You need a bit deeper voice for this song and Charlotte fits the catigory.GOOD JOB!!!

  • She was born with a gift from God. The voice of an angel, thanks for sharing this.

  • Still think she's the best singer! =0)

  • ПОТРЯСАЮЩЕ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • beuatiful voice.thank you

  • WOW! I wonder when her parents started giving her voice lessons ? I suppose she had to be very young!

  • I have seen a clip where she was on the televison at age 11... and she was already a great singer at that time.. I think she was born with the talent.. :-)

  • GOD, how I love this song!!! Feels like a dream<3

  • Sadly she did what most people do when they have a rare gift. They take it for granted and take another path.

Would her path have been one of the greatest who ever sang? Where all others would have been judged by her talent?

We will never know. She chose a different path than most would have. As long as she is happy.

I do hope she goes back just once and really sings again. It is her rare gift she has let slip away in singing pop.

  • Choosing to sing pop isn't giving up on her gift. Just because she has a gift doesn't mean she has to use it the way musical elitists want her to use it. Classical music has a lot of positive aspects that pop music lacks, but pop music is still music, and it can relate to others in a way that classical music can't because of modern culture.

Say what you will about that last part, but if it wasn't true then everyone would be listening t
