fuck you all who diss robert plant, he has an amazing voice and this is just different than what we're used to listen from him, it doesn't mean it's bad, im a huge led zep fan, and i think raising sand is a great album, besides he's an institution and a living legend he can do whatever the f**k he wants
Has anyone seen Scarlett Johansson & Pete Yorn new single its a total rip off of this song? Two losers attempting to sound like two legends...I feel for them. Its a truly embarrassing attempt. How can anyone think to compete with Alison Krauss?

Yeah, he's definitely a one-trick pony. Don't know why everyone thought he was so great. If you ask any DIE-HARD Zeppelin fan, they'll tell you he was the worst thing to happen to the band.

These are about the cheesiest lyrics I've run across, and a completely uninteresting song in general. It's a shame, since both artists are capable of so much more.
This album is absolutely amazing. It really shows Robert's talent for and love of roots music. Allison is amazing in her own right as well. I love them both, and was so happy when this album came out, and the grammy wins were sheer joy, and well deserved. Change and growth is the true testament to an artist's talent, and that is demontrated exceptionally well here for both Robert and Allison.
The entire album is great. I played it many times in my class while we did physics labs. The kids loved it. Imagine that. Kids twenty years younger than me and we're all into it together.
I have to admit I'd love Robert Plant to tour with his old mates in Zep, however he looks like he's totally enjoying himself with the help of T-Bone and Alison. Mercy, Alison is so hot, whose the luck SOB kissin them lips, I wish it was me.
get the lead out, love bob,any age even like him older, sexy,i never would have put him together with alison, and I really like it, she's pretty, and what a voice!!
when there voices mix when they say Gone Gone Gone it sounds great ... Robert actualy performed better than her at the grammys 0_o .. still sounds great hope he changes his mind after the 3 or 4 grammy's he got and decide to go back to led zeppelin .
That isn't an auto tuner. It's their voices resonating - when their voices achieve the exact same frequency at the exact same time. It's a rare and beautiful thing. It seems to happen between this pair nearly effortlessly.
If Plant put out a new solo album people would bitch. They'd bitch that it's easy too Zeppelin sounding, or not enough. They'd bitch that he's too old and they'd bitch that Page isnt on it, and then they'd bitch that John Paul Jones isnt playing with those two. This is the best thing he's done in years, so people should stop bitching. If you dont like it, go watch something else.
Great comment. I am 45 and loved the Beatles for years. Paul gets the same bitching. I only got into Led Zep after hearing my wife's Cd's. Now we are one and the same and this is coming to my mailbox as we speak and it will sit right next to the rocking Paul McCartney Fireman album. Times change, talent lives. Ed

I want to go on to say that I would rather wait five to ten years for an album's worth of an artist's original material than to listen to a bunch of covers of someone's else's material. Anyone can cover someone else's material and make it a hit. Put forth a little more effort in it Robert. I know you are 60, but you ain't too old to still write your own stuff.

I'm sorry, but from the get go I thought that this whole album Raising Sand was the lazy man's way of making an album and trying to market as something new. What's so new about it other than the fact that there are different singers on the record and different arrangements from the original songs?

No I think the worst thing that happened was when Bonham died. If not for that, then Zeppelin would've lived for a lot longer than they did.
muppet089 2 years ago
Got to admit that even before Bonham died, Led Zep were past their sell-by date (unless anyone thinks In Through The Out Door is a good album)

Love the album, but I can really hear the auto tuning on the vocals.
dcronkite1 3 years ago
if you listen to it live it sounds exactly the same( grammys) .. i believe its just the effect of roberts voice and Alisons mixing together .
