I gotta say, the show went downhill after this section. I'm so disappointed. Vajranoid Attack and Global War were all right, and the Ark De Grande eps had some great concepts but were badly executed.

It's a shame because this first episode was excellent.

Although I don't care much for the other episodes, overall, I like the version of the story told in Birth of Genocyber more than the one in the manga. Not because the story makes more sense...which it doesn't, but I think it really captures the emotion (and grotesqueries) better than the manga did.

What's going on: A scientist discovers an alternate dimension made of psychic energy. He infuses his pregnant wife with that energy during an experiment. The result are twin girls, one with the mind of a child(Elaine), and the other's body doesn't work from the neck down(Diane). They are two parts of a whole and "Genocyber" is the result of the twins being fused into one entity which can access extreme psionic powers. Oddly, the human form is Elaine's childlike mind on Diane's cyborg body.
