  • THAT WAS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the word eskimo is an insult word

  • @ariiniusuk See our position on this down below from two years ago. It remains our position.

  • Tuvan throat singing > this.

  • hi, i've just searched for inuit throat signing after watching a program here in the UK called Billy Connolly's journey to the edge of the world. he travels the north-west passage, along the way he stops at a town called igluik(sorry if the spellings wrong)., where 2 women give him a demonstration of throat signing.

they do a song called the dog song, i may be mistaken but it was stunning.

thanks for posting the vidoes as it has enlightened me to another style of 'folk' music. many thanks

  • Ha ha ha... Mate thats exactly why im searching for it....

  • u girls are great u should of do the video longer keep it on and do more video and longer:D

  • It should be titled Intuit (eskimo) throat singing. That would be both correct, and easy to find.

  • That's okay as I name most of my videos different from each other so they can cover the range of search terms used by people. Once they find one of my videos, they can then find the others.

  • that was hot

  • We realize that the proper term is Inuit rather than Eskimo. However, this video is aimed at worldwide audiences and most people do not know the term Inuit. The Inuit's counterparts in Alaska still use the term eskimo. We use eskimo just so many people around the world will find this video. Then our website disclaimer educates them on the Inuit term. If we use just Inuit, this culture will have a very limited audience. This is our final position on this issue. Clint, Free Spirit Gallery

  • is one of em Amanda Earle?

  • No.

  • loL I have heared native throat singing....this don't sound much like it.... srry to say.....

  • Well I have heard quite a few Inuit throat singers both live and on TV documentaries about the Arctic and this is representative of northern throat singing.

  • this doesn't sound like back in iqaluit

  • is this a band called tudjaat? does anybody know?

  • oh man haha thats awsome! lol :D

  • That is so interesting

  • Inuits is the real rappers by blood ;-b for many years ago, if somebody in their town were mad at eachother, the whole town would meet, and the two with a conflict would battle, using their drums to a breat, they did that instead of getting into a fight ;-b

Björk was in greenland for a few years ago, she was so cool, walking around the city making music with the gospel, with tupilaq in her hair.

I'm a greenlandic girl who moved too Denmark, and right now I miss Greenland!

  • So... This is were beatboxing originated... O_O

  • This is so amazing xD

I hadnt realised till now that this is what Bjork has on many of her songs...Eskimo Inuit throat singing, done by Tagaq.

  • The northern native people of Alaska don't even share the same language as the Inuit of Canada. They are not Inuit.

  • The government of Canada still issues Igloo tags that say Eskimo Art and the Inuit accept this for now since they know that the international community still searches under the Eskimo term. We recognize this and still use both terms so that many people can find these videos, otherwise, they wouldn't have ever known about this great culture and its arts.

  • Although it is true that the Inuit in Canada prefer to be referred as Inuit, they realize that internationally, this is not a known term. Other northern people outside of Canada, like in Alaska, do not call themselves Inuit and still refer to themselves as Eskimo.

  • haha!..that is throat singing!.

  • blimey! never heard that before, not what i expected. thanks!

  • well, it sounds like sex because they use this basic beat in some of their "spiritual" rituals. They had a documentary on this and it showed two women with their mouth together, sweating and doing stuff while the rest of the tribe was in the room doing the beat. Kinda freaky, actually.

  • I need to know this documentary!

  • There will sometimes be the odd show on Discovery channel especially about the impact of global warming on Arctic communities. That's when you will see glimpses of throat singing. Of course, CBC up here in Canada will also show programs that have some throat singing.

  • once again in movie ish sound

  • That's not throat singing but interesting nonetheless.

  • It is to these Inuit women -- there's two more videos here as well.

  • it is throat singing in that it involves singing in overtones, it's just in a very different style from that practiced in Mongolia and Tuva.

  • It sound like they are having sex with each other!o.O

  • it sounds like they are having sex with each other!o.O

  • That's totally amazing!

  • Sounds like a sex beat box session. =-O

  • awesome again!
