  • But next time, keep the babbling to a low amount. ;)

  • If you would like to tape it yourself, without the "babbling", you are completely free to tape the eclipse yourself and take the time to edit and upload it to YT. Otherwise, you can thank me for what I spend time on with it.

    ;)

  • Lol, that wasn't negative, man. It's good that you record for others who couldn't watch it themselves.

  • ;) Just got back from taping the one tonight. We were overcast (couldn't see the moon at all) until just after the full eclipse started (light showing on the opposite end), but I got it (and with a tripod this time, no shaky hands!)

  • I'm pretty sure there's one on Feb. 20th..if you're not in the U.S., it's either a day earlier or a day later.

  • I saw it but had school the next day. Didn't fall asleep in class though.

  • I saw it but I couldn't find my camera :(

  • Apparently my friend got up around 5 and saw it but I didn't know about it! haha but apparently everyone else remembered to get there cameras out! =D

  • hi thank you for the video. i saw it in michigan, we got lucky regarding cloud cover because the sky just got totally clear right before eclipse time came.

Your end of video "i love yous" to each other was heart touching. i could tell you both meant it.

nice way to end a video. Thanks again for doing the work to get it and post it.

  • Dude everyone says that... lol. She's not blood related, I promise. =p

  • HHAhA !! Ive heard people are attracted to people that resemble them what do you think about that ?

  • I think that is very true. I have a friend that is married to a chick that looks JUST like him. I mean, she could pass as his sister, easily. Facial features especially.

  • EH.. I dont think its a rule i think its a thing that appies but doesnt mean FOR SURE

  • Most definitely not a rule. =)

  • Observed the entire umbral portion of the eclipse both with the naked eye and telescopically in Oregon.

  • I don't get it

  • my video is ten times better

  • Yikes. Kenny G? Nice montage though.

  • nice.

  • Galileo would've luved ya darkner!

I would've really enjoyed watching this out in the desert, unhindered by backgound light and haze. It's amazing what you can see out there just with the naked eye when you look skyward.

  • I live in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada (near Toronto)>. As someone who missed seeing the eclipse live -- partially due to forgetting, and partially due to illness -- i am so glad to have had the chance to view your video of it! Thank you ever so much, you sweet couple!! :-)

  • wonderfull video, i love these astro invents. I used to sit hours as a child in front of a telescope. Sadly i dont that anymore. But this is inspiring. Thanks for grabbing the cam and having some fun!

  • i live in southern california, thank you for posting this, i couldnt see it ;)

  • i set my alarm for this..

and you know what i did?

    ...

i yelled at my alarm and went back to sleep!

    so thank you soooo much!

  • I had to cut some footage because a neighbor's alarm kept going off... about 4 times (snooze apparently was the popular choice ;) )

  • thanks for recording this, i was asleep in florida.

  • I'm really glad we were able to do this for you guys. Makes me feel better for losing sleep =p

  • awesome i fucking missed it fell asleep -_-

  • Mr. thedarkener: Thank you for the video. I missed it here in Texas. Cordially, GlobeBar

  • wow that was really cool. im sorry i flaked on u guys :( i really wanted to go but i needed the sleep :( i leave for florida in a week and want to be all better by then...we need to hang out soon though!

  • We coulda used you for your astronomy class intellectual commentary!! =) Promise you'll be there for the next solar eclipse though? =)

  • Thank you so much--I was also out here in NorCal, but I made the mistake of not staying out late enough. I was watching it from around one to one thirty. My cat and I, sitting on the front lawn. It was really peaceful, and I saw a really cool purplish ring around the moon, but I couldn't stay up, so I went in.

  • Great! Had a good view of it last night also down here in the southern hemisphere.

  • Was it not awesome?? Toward the end, I just laid down on the sidewalk and stared at it while it was still in full eclipse. It felt so peaceful.

  • It was indeed. I love the image of you lying on the sidewalk in the early morning hours looking up at a darkened moon. Explain that to a passing police patrol!

Also isn't it great the way the whole world's sharing this? Reminds us of our oneness somehow. Your feelings of awe and peacefulness would be pretty universal reactions, I guess.
