  • Pleasure - Glide

  • Anyone knows what is this gig from?

  • @MetMegPeace The Echo Project in Atlanta 2007

  • @MsKayaface Thanks!

  • 1:27. SICKEST solo part ever!!!!

  • I got a boner.

  • 2:03 - being in les' solo band is great... but even are greatest are shell shocked when tunes of primus sail the seas of cheese!

  • Les Claypool is orgasmically amazing.

  • His glide cover, combined with Tommy the cat is another kind of genre of a base exploration. すんげぇよっ。Not only Les himself, but also the guys at drums and sax are amazing to me.

  • les claypool is the CLIT COMMANDER!

  • @nlee485 when i see the clit, i see les' face

  • I've got to say that even as a guitar player, Les Claypool's playing makes me want to play bass even after a few seconds of hearing it.

  • What the fuck was the sax player doing :|

  • He should have just finished playing Tommy the cat.

  • Oh wait, he actually starts playing Tommy the Cat. My bad.

  • Wait, did he start playing the Tommy the Cat riff at 1:26?

    Awesome.

  • whats the melody he plays at :27?

  • @maynardkeenan11 Glide by Pleasure

  • Les the alive Legend.....

  • TOMMY THE CAT!!!!!

  • What's that bit from that he plays at :49 to about 1:26? It's not played in the studio version yet he plays it a lot live.

  • 0:20-0:48 !!! Glide by Pleasure (1970s funk band). Awesome!

  • The more i watch, the more i realize that Les is probably the best bassist around, at least that ive heard.

  • genius

  • i love the funk. so fuckin tight.

  • ...13th March 2010 at New Age Club, Roncade - Treviso! Welcome back to Italy Master!

  • greatest bassist ever

  • i love this man. my greatest infulence ever

  • the inventor of the bass guitar would not roll over in his grave to this.......i believe he would funk his casket all the way back to rockville

  • the vocal here sounds like Maynard from Disgustipated

maybe he used the same type of mic??

  • epic! still!!!!

  • if someoe knows where to get the bass tabs for the solo at the beginning plz send em to me, much appriciated

  • fuck yea, Tommy the Cat!

  • 0:19 - 0:24 thats a victor wooten lick isnt it or some famous song

  • yeah Victor does a similar thing on the "Victor Wooten Guitar Battle" video

  • Its a lick from a song called 'Glide' by a band called Pleasure from 1979

Yes, Wooten plays the lick, just like Les

    Mystery solved

    Me: 01

    Universe: 00

  • 2:03

you may be an awesome saxophonist but a dancer you are not

  • that dude is prolly high off his ass xD

  • as long as he's playing bass like this, he can be on whatever he wants. les claypool. the man, the mith, the legend.

  • you mean myth?

  • spelling mistake, you offended?

  • Yes.

  • good

  • @Ahndeigh105 That's not dancing....that's the funk possessing Skerik's body~

  • I wish somebody would release that bass as a signature series

  • It'll never happen...it's a one of a kind Carl Thompson (all of Thompson's basses are unique and hand-made). Closest you can get is dropping about $5000 on a new CT yourself.

  • If you can get him to do it. He retired.

  • its cuz les is gettin old lol. he isnt a young pup like when he was with primus lol

  • forget playboy i pleasure myself to les! gotta see him sometime never makes it to the old pittsburgh, maybe out superbowl and stanley cup wins shall lure him here

  • Les is a fine wine !! now u should try his real wine!!...yes just like Maynard Les has his very own bottle of wine called Purple Pachyderm !!

  • say babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Les is like a fine wine he gets better with age

  • INSANELY GOOD

  • Superman wears Les Claypool underwear

  • fucking rocls my socks, love the horns in the background

  • i love how he all of a sudden breaks into tommy the cat

  • Les has 3 letters..... God has 3 letters..... coincidence?..... I think not.

  • lol

  • holy shit ur right, by which it must be true

    all praise Les Claypool

  • Lol at when Les uses star power at the end XD

  • Man! are you crazy!!?? there is so much you can get out of a bass if the bass player love the instrument and take time and passion to understand it!! in my band we use all instruments that's how you get funkadelik energy!!!!

  • you should never have to RETHINK about using bass.......( big sigh) it should be an automatic instinct in ANY band lol

  • Everyone says my band is kickin' so much ass that we shouldn't change anything. If people start leaving negative comments on our vids then maybe we'll consider adding bass. Probably wouldn't hurt anything, but we don't want to needlessly take a chance on spoiling the balance.

    It's called chemistry.

  • if your band doesnt have bass there is no chemistry. what kind of music is it? that having no bass still sounds good?

  • Hey "assgerbilcide", I guess if you held a gun to my head I'd call it "heavy mental". But we do play other styles also, and pretty much everything we touch achieves total heavy-osity.

Many people ask how we can play so good in different styles. The answer is we work harder than everybody else. That, plus we have more raw talent than the other bands.

  • @lonelywan Find a bassist that has your chemistry then.

The bass is like a translator, its like this: you got your guitars speaking spanish, and your drums speaking italian, you need the bass to explain to each instrument what the other is saying.

Iunno, i think bands need a bass....otherwise things like the white stripes happen...and i think we can all agree we dont need any more of that?

  • I guess I'd prefer to let my band's work speak for itself. Feel free to check out our videos.

  • hahaa..I do like the white stripes, but your comment made me laugh :D

  • lol yeah personally i dont mind jack white (meg drives me nuts though) But it sure is fun to rip on them :P

  • hahaha, indeed

  • @sociopathix - Great way to break it down. I have long believed THE BASS is the most vital instrument on stage. It indeed ties it all together. Imagine listening to RUSH, RHCP, or PRIMUS without the Bass. HA!

  • @lonelywan Don't play with the perfection of lonelywan.

  • @Soma874 I saw "lonelywan's" vids. Though I wouldn't say it's perfection, and it's not really my style of music, they obviously know what they're doing. As for comparisons to Claypool - it's hard to say since they don't use bass. I don't think "lonelywan" is BETTER, maybe AS GOOD.

  • ROFLMAOWOOTCOPTASAUCE!!!!!!!!!

  • That crowd didnt know what hit em.

  • after the jam the crowd probably felt as if they had just gotten laid.

  • amazing jam, not often does he do full verses, usually a 30second tease then back to the song. tommy the cat is the 2nd best riff he's ever done. first of course is American Life.

  • true dat amigo

  • glide/tommy the cat

  • sometimes I pretend the bass is a vagina.

  • Then you probably like Bootsy Collins.

    Am I right? :P

  • hahhahaa lol

  • jesus when i read that i started crying...that is one of the funniest comments i have ever read.

  • Dude that is so great. Its song is so damn wicked. Some songs are on iclips but this one isnt. How did you get your hands on this?

  • sweet dude :)
