I'll tell you,tubbs could have made it interesting if he kept his boxing on tyson.I saw tubbs looking good with the jab and counters as douglas did, but tyson got the short left in on the ropes and this tyson was too swift and didnt let tubbs get away,something that seemed to decline also with tyson after 1988,he didnt have the tenacity in his combinations after 1988,they were thrown more crudely and one at a time.

@fadethetrade He wasn't, "losing the fight" it was one round and the judges had one for Tyson one for Tubbs and one even. Sometimes Mike Tyson, like Frazier, wasn't as effective early on against the better contenders when they were fresh and could use their reach and movement. Tubbs wasn't a fool.

Not sure if his best would have come. Tyson's decline started a little after Cus D'Amato's death. He really started losing his work ethic after he won the belt. If Cus hadn't of died so early in his career he may have had a better run. Still my favorite boxer though.

tubbs actually fought as well as douglas and holyfield did against tyson here but you can see the major difference in the two tysons.This tyson was too fast,too accurate,too explosive and tubbs was finished in 10 seconds wheras the tyson against douglas couldn't utilize the techniques because of lack of ACTIVITY AND TECHNICAL TRAINING.
