  • The founding fathers would be saddened by this bill's passage in the House!

The Constitution is the rule of the land! It limits the National Government. This bill is one example of how so many in Congress and otherwise simply fail to understand our Republic, our liberties, and our Rights!

  • @lessgovtnow

Other things not in the Constitution:

    Drug laws

    Abortion laws

    drivers license laws

    the ten commandments

We elect representatives to meet in order to provide for our countries needs- our "common welfare"-- which IS in the Constitution... along with taxation laws.

You have bought into the argument that is being used by corporations to evade taxes and to otherwise siphon money off of us to enrich themselves. Have you not seen what the deregulation argument did to us???

  • You're right, and the National Government should stay out of the issues you listed as well.

When contemplating "common welfare," have you taken the time to consider property rights and economics?

The fruit of my labor is mine. I may chose to help another, but don't force me by law to. As for economics, if the founding fathers thought that phrase to mean national health care, why did they not legislate it then? Why not just print money for everyone?

  • @lessgovtnow

If we are to think of ourselves as living in a civilized society, then we can't allow people to be put out into the street still attached to tubes-- yes, it is done. If you can't pay, you are left on the street to die.

Profit driven healthcare has made treatment out of reach of EVERYONE. Just last week a story of a student killed, spent 5 min in emerg. room before dying, and charged $30,000.

This needs fixing. I hear the bill makes payments cheaper, while helping EVERYONE.

  • I share in your end-goal - wanting to help. I believe community is where you find help. I think the National Govt fails the definition of community.

The system isn't right, I agree, but this isn't the answer. Some of our founding fathers feared parties would develop. Dem/Rep parties, both (in general) are in the pockets of corporations.

The issue is deep, and the way it's defined by the 2-prty system, it pits you against me.

  • Short lived victory. Joe Lieberman vows to block it in the Senate.

Thanks for all your hard work Rep. Grayson.

  • voy...I know...Lieberman is up for reelection in 2012 and he needs a strong challenger who can better represent the people of Connecticut...Makes me wish we had the British Parliamentary system, in-so-much as there the House of Lords (akin to our Senate) can delay but not block the will of the people's house, the House of Commons (akin to our House of Representatives)...Love to see an amendment to allow the Senate to Amend but not reject Bills from the House, and that would abolish filibuster.

  • An American take on the House of Lords would be interesting . . . Over here, many of us recognize the need for a little bit of reformation concerning the HoL. Blair brought in some Constitutional change resulting in an ousting of hereditary peers. It still isn't perfect.

Maybe you guys can lead the way :)

  • wow

  • Alan Grayson FTW

  • But it still preserve the complete shift of wealth from the middle class to the OnePercent. Even slave owners got doctors for their slaves in some cases.

  • Grayson we are not free at last yet. Far from it. But this is a step in the right direction.

  • For all you people who where asking, "Where is my bailout?" last September, you just got one. This is a huge bailout for us common folk. Now, just like Wall St executives, we don't have to worry about what we'll do if we fuck up catastrophically, we know the government has our back and will pay for our medical bills.

  • This new law will do none of the things Grayson mentioned. Instead, it will accelerate the privatization of health care, require 21 million Americans to buy private health insurance resulting in at least $70 billion in new annual revenue and leave in place Bush's policy of not allowing negotiation with drug companies under Part D Medicare. States do not have the right under this law to pursue single payer and the watered down "public option" covers only 6 million, not 129 million. Corps. win.

  • I agree with you Grayson on reforming our health care system. But can you get it done? Ranting is not governance. Can you build the coalitions it takes to get stuff done? You have made a lot of enemies. This is going to hurt your ability to govern and build the bridges it takes to pass bills. You have not changed anyones mind opposed to reform, just made them dig in their heels harder. I watch the house leaders last night. I think that they really care about people. Do you?

  • There is no more debilitating expense on businesses in America today then the crippling cost of health care.

If your providing health care insurance to your employees then your paying $500-800 per month per employee.

If you don't give insurance, your still paying workers comp. lost productivity

In japan, they pay $100/month, We pay over 800+. How can we compete in the global marketplace?

  • Thumbs down if you think this guy is a unhinged commie that can't be trusted alone with children ;-)

  • it figures a dumb faggot like you would use 'commie' as an insult. You probably don't realise that every communist/socialist state today is doing better than america (cough, China, cough)

Communism/Socialism are very utopian and optimistic political philosophies to live by. At times unrealistic, but then again with america's corruption why would anyone care about their fellow man in that shit hole

  • Yeah, what actually pisses me off is when people think Socialism and Communism are interchangeable. Socialism is an economy, communism a govt. Plus, we tried the complete opposite of socialism (de regulation of markets/laissez faire capitalism) and it didn't exactly work out that great, what with the economy collapsing. I feel as though we're still in a post cold war era with all these people throwing the word "Commie" around ignorantly.

  • Socialism promotes economic and civil cooperation, whilst (and yes I am taking a page from Marx here) capitalism just encourages selfishness and competition.

Socialism makes moral sense too because people will always be cooperating and working together for the good of the community, but indeed it may come off to some as utopian or optimistic.

And of course republicans just want survival of the fittest and for poor people to die.

  • What I don't like about Utopian societies is the way the safety net is set up. Though the net can keep people from dying on the streets, it should be given to those willing to work for it and contribute to society, that's the problem in Communism, there's no motivation to work hard.

Republicans don't want people to die, they just don't care if they die. So long as corporations are keeping their pockets stuffed, they'll BS America all day long. (I'm talking about the general modern Reps.)

  • The motitvation is income and better pay for working. That still exists and will always exist in America. Government should however make sure that a living wage exists, so that when you do work, you are paid enough to live the American Dream. Words like: Utopian (Moore's idea), Communist (Marx idea), Socialism (Fabian society mostly) etc. don't help debate much. Most people, even politicians, understand that to have an advanced productive society - everyone has to do their part to their ability

  • Not only that, but change the requirements for financial aid programs like Welfare, fafsa, medicaid, etc. Right now you have to be insanely poor to qualify, and though I personally still qualify, I feel for the people poor but not poor enough to receive help. As for Healthcare, private co.'s are defeating the purpose of care and denying people for profit, hopefully this bill can minimize that.

  • afterlife...welfare is highly is unworkable mostly and should be abandoned as a principle...replaced with a permenant WPA style program to put people to work who can not find work in the private sector - it doesn't matter where the paycheck comes from, they spend the same, and consumers do and ought to drive the economy - we could rebuild our infrastructure this way. Education, Healthcare, Information should be freely delivered by a democratic society; not rooted in loans, fees, etc.

  • Modern republicans just think that extreme capitalism is the perfect way to live; those who work hard go far, and the incapable, inexperienced, and unfortunate just get left behind and aren't cared for. The perfect liberal society should protect people from harm and look after their wellbeing, care for the sick and homeless, and make sure society is fair.

One problem I have is most liberals are too lenient on crime. I'm interesrted in a FAIR society

  • I actually think most Reps. in power don't really care what happens to everybody else. Take FOX news for example, I'm sure that if a Liberal biased corporation or group paid Limbaugh more than the private co.'s do, he'd be singing the liberal theme song (whatever that may be) and praising Obama. The Reps. have sunk to an all time low. As for liberals on leniency, i agree, it's a little too touchy feely for my taste.

  • Liberal attitudes towards education, healthcare, employment, the economy are great, but I think (and i'm talking particularly about american liberals) they need to toughen up on issues like crime. most liberals get stereotyped into being the classic "liberal pussy" who can't even take his own side in an argument.

I think more direct and aggressive liberal politicians like Grayson would be a very good thing

  • razor...I basically concur with you on the 'crime' issues...its a matter of image as well, and Grayson is actually the type of Progressive we need in Washington. The nation on many issues is basically progressive...certain social issues: abortion and immigration - conservative and rightly so - moderate on economy. But labels don't cut in mostly I think - on crime - ensuring civil liberty whilst strong enforcement n penalties for violent crime should be the Progressive view w/o nanny-state stuff.

  • Razor...the great flaw with Socialism, is that it promotes the ownership of the means of production and in its extreme form (communism) tyranny (control of personal liberty, dictatorship of proleteriat etc.)... Progressivism as it was conceived in the USA was the great answer to socialism as developed in Europe..it is rooted in Jefferson's personal liberty views and Hamilton's views on Government - regulate, supervise, promote - but not control production etc. - Gov. health/retirement n workright

  • Socialism is based on common ownership of the means of production, people are unable to surpass each other despite unequal levels of professional skill. That's the only reason people hate socialism.

I must admit, brought up in this society everyone is encouraged to believe they can work harder than other people and become more successful than other people. Changing a country's frame of thinking from capitalism to socialism would never work naturally, i know that much

  • Well no...People 'hate' or more properly 'fear' socialism because of all the 'propaganda' delivered to them from the 1950s onward due to the Cold War and our legitimate fight with the evil empire of the Soviet Union and its tyranny. Tyranny, control of personal liberties (Bill of Rights stuff etc.) and government controlling production/retail/agriculture directly has proven disasterous...here capitalism works, if regulated to the common good. Free marketism n trade are the cause of themess today

  • If it could actually be funded then it might give peace of mind but it cant the future liability of 1trillion has just been added to the financial system propping it up a little long.

The intention of healthcare for everyone is great and we do need that and we could have it in abundance if we had a different financial system, but a healthcare system as an extension of a corrupt and broken financial system is just as corrupt and broken.

The bill will collapse along with the financial system

  • So, Danster, are you saying that Canada and Europe can pull this off and their citizens are happy with their system but the United States is just not up to the task?

  • No, Europe and Canada will experience the same.

  • France, England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, S. Korea, Italy, Greece, Israel, Switzerland, Norway, India, Hong Kong, Germany, Spain, Austria, Ireland, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Chile.

Have all had some form of universal health care for decades. Some have had it for almost the past 100 years.

Why are they going to loose Universal health care now?

(Note; all those countries have BETTER health care then the United States)

  • Oh, I get what your saying. The whole financial system is going to collapse...again.

So there is no need to pass health reform because the system that finances it is going to not be there in 10 years.

But what if health reform saves our government money and revitalizes our economy by taking the expense off the books of small business?

  • This bill is a step in the right direction...but highly flawed overall. Medicare for all, financed by lifting the medicare/meicaid deduction ceiling w/ a wealth tax on incomes over 1,000,000 (5% or higher, but not too high) and for the short term a tariff of 10-22% would finance Medicare for all w/ dental n visioncare - for years to come. Back to tariffs, why should we allow companies (benefit from lower taxes etc. of trade) avoid our system here by going there and then sell to us freely?

  • Abortion should be considered from a liberal standpoint. Women should have the right to control what happens to her body, and so of course this said I'm pro-choice. The fundamental value of liberalism is, to quote JS Mill:

"Over himself, his own mind and body, the individual is sovereign".

No one should force a woman to carry a baby.

  • Razor...I understand your argument and it is a good one...and I fully support n concur with JS Mill on this. What I've struggled with is that although the woman should have full rights over her body; what are the rights of the human being inside her? Is that being, that baby which left unhindered would be born; without rights? Does not Mill's idea apply to her/him? That woman chose to engage in sexual activity freely - the baby inside of her - that free human being - has no right to live?

  • women shouldn't have abortions we can all agree on that. what I would be concerned about is that if you don't let a woman have an abortion she will find a way to do it herself. That would make the child suffer a lot more and they could live through it badly injured. There are also women out there who should have had an abortion like that woman who drowned all her children in the bath tub. It would have been better if they had never known life than to grow up and be murdered by their own mother.

  • Northmeister - I have to concede that you are arguing the pro-life position much more effectively than others. One of my principle contentions is that the foetus is not a sentient organism at this point. From a purely biological standpoint, the foetus is not viable until the pneumocytes manufacture pulmonary surfactant. After this point, I believe that abortions should be prohibited.

There are many extenuating circumstances about why a woman might choose to have the abortion. Fair point?

  • Eleuth...I agree, you make considerable sense and I admit, I know much less than you on the science...I also agree about extenuating circumstances...If scientifically accurate, your point makes perfect sense as to when to stop allowing the procedure - so as to protect the rights of the child - there is also issues of rape, incest, life of the mother as well. I'd like to see the issue resolved so as to adequately protect the rights of all persons involved.

  • Thank you SO much, Mr. Grayson. You are articulating exactly the direction I think we must go. Keep going. We're with you.

  • Thank you. Keep it up Mr. Grayson. You are an inspiration.

  • I can't wait for the "I told you so" when the costs run into the trillions of dollars. Funny on how they say it will cut costs when Social Security and medicare/medicaid cost billions more than anticipated.

  • muchosa1, there can be no honest discussion about the economy of the US without including the actions of the federal reserve bank. It is INCREDIBLY intellectually dishonest to talk about debt or deficit, the cost of ANY program, without discussing the trillions created, lent, and GIVEN away by our federal reserve bank. How much interest does the Fed collect annually from loans to the treasury? What % of annual income tax revenue does that represent?

  • I think the Federal Reserve should be dissolved. Or at least audited and the control of money returned to the government (people).

  • Dude...you laughed while saying free at last...

BTW lol at the "its going to cost a million dollars to see a doctor" comment. Seriously, if you are against something, at least have an actual reason to be against it and not just because your party says to be.

  • Ohh really alot of hope. Just like everything the feds get there hands on dies. And i also hope you all got the money to pay for all this. This is a great start for the 1 World Government. And good luck waiting Min 6 months to see a Dr all you who support it i hope we find you all dead in the streets. See the feds never say how many lives saved by Dr like for the fake h1n1. But they only tell you how many has died. There scums of this planet all should be killed and killed slow.

  • Well, Mystik, hopefully you will be able to see a psychiatrist now.

  • 15k a year, 5 years in jail and 250k fine for no insurance. wasnt this supposed to HELP people? im confused.

  • where can i read whether or not what you say is true?

  • the internet

  • May I ask where you got those numbers?

  • "May I ask where you got those numbers?"

    ~ complete silence ~

    That's what I thought.

  • To see who voted for and against, you can go to the c-span website, click on "Featured Topics", scroll down and click on "Votes by the house", then click on Roll # 887.

Republican names are in italics and Democrats are in Roman font.

I notice Kucinich voted no. I guess he was holding out hope for his HR 676 single payer bill.

  • this bill doesn't do anything. It's still gonna cost a million dollars to see a doctor, and now you have higher taxes. Free at last my ass.

  • countless/...you then said 45,000 that is countable. Love AG but more government is not the answer

  • I government is not the answer to health care reform, then what is?

  • 220-215

That's a lot closer than I expected but at least it passed!

  • shame to the 40ish democrap who voted NAY...

  • At least Representative Grayson takes his title seriously.

    It's a shame those 39 don't.

  • NO, THANK YOU Mr. GRAYSON!!!!!!! I finally have a bit of hope!!!!!!

  • All bullshit. I will take no pleasure in saying "I told you so!" when in 6, 12, 24 months down the road taxes are increased to pay for this or we fire up the printing presses to puke out more fiat currency to pay for it, thus increasing the deficit and putting us further into debt w/ communist nations. One way or another the American taxpayers will foot the bill.

  • I had rather pay more taxes and know the money will go toward actual health care than pay twice as much to greedy corporations intent on bleeding the public dry.

  • and yes, I've worked all my life (I'm 59) and I'm a property owner and I pay taxes.

  • MTPatriot - yes, the taxpayers will foot the bill.... that's kindof the idea man. I make plenty of money. I'm okay with footing the bill of the health care of all Americans - why aren't you? Shouldn't we be taking care of each other? come on man - have some compassion. Learn to empathize you sociopath.

  • as I have always said. People dont think twice when billions are spent on a stupid war killing countless people including our own soldiers. But everyone takes a hissy fit when money is going to be spent providing for our own people. What makes people so greedy and selfous. Jesus would agree with me LOL

  • haah the action at the start was classic

  • Grayson, you sell-out. this isn't universal health care, this is a handjob for the health insurance industry. under this plan we still have to pay for what should be a basic service like the police and fire dept. either push for UHC or stfu.

  • hurfdurf - there is no free health care. We will have to pay for it one way or another. Police and fire are paid for through your taxes. Universal care would simply raise taxes if not paid for some other way.

If you want the govt to simply pay for our health care then the repugnicans would be right that it would run the deficit up and bankrupt the country.

But HC reform will introduce competition which will lower our costs.

  • Now let's 1) improve, streamline & simplify the Senate bill, and 2) triple-team our beloved-though-misguided opposition Senators.

  • Amen, voyeurdug. Well said.

  • With this bill health insurance companies have to spend 85% of the premium money on paying for healthcare. Now they will have to divide the remaining 15% between bonuses to clerks who deny coverage, bonuses to their CEOs, profits, and Washington payoff of politicians. 15% is still a lot to go around, but this limitation would insure that the other 85% goes to patients. THANK YOU ALAN GRAYSON.

  • I don't understand why are you fighting for those fat, gready, unmoral health insurance industries?

But at the same time hate so much those wall street and banking industries.

    THEY ARE THE SAME PIGS.

They don't care about your health or your life.

They only cares about their fat paychecks.

    Wake up america.

Thanks Rep.Grayson and President Obama for your courage.

  • Wake up America!!!!!!!

Just try to look outside of your small world.

    I am a canadian.

Yes we have a goverment run SOCIALIST MEDICAL SYSTEM and we are all happy and healthy and all my neighbors across the pond, all the europian countries who have a goverment run FREE HEALTH CARE, they are all happier an healthier and live longer than americans.

  • thank grayson for turning america officially into a fascist state. i am sure the corporates are having an orgy on their yachts right now celebrating their take over of the country. i dont like you grayson, i dont like you!!!

  • Finally and a good day for Americans!! You rock Rep. Grayson!!

  • Fucking senate better not fuck us over.

  • Rep. Grayson, don't celebrate too much. It only passed the House. We've still got the Senate to deal with.

  • In case you have not noticed, the United States is one of the only industrialized nations that has ~not~ done it.

Yes, Cuba has an excellent health care system considering what little resources they have to work with. It might even be considered humanitarian.

I don't at all favor communism, but I do favor humanitarian works.

  • people throw terms around which they don't even understand. If someone says, socialism, just ask them to define what socialism is?

  • in case you haven't notice Fidel Castro done the exact same thing with Cuba.

Instead of thumbs down me whoever is reading this, try to debate me losers

  • Hitler also built the autobahn. The American highway system is based directly on the autobahn, and was formed under the Eisenhower administration. Oh the evils of socialism...

  • what kind of idiots are you? Hitler wasn't a socialist. Mass murderer yeah but not a socialist.

    Howitzer89, please define socialism.

  • For God's sakes, Howitzer89, look up the Darkside of Communism & how many lives has been lost due to it.

Look at the bullshit for anything that has been under Federnal Government control. It sucks so much. And you want Universal Health Care, 100 PERCENT control by the Government. God helps us all. You are a swine for believing empty suits & skirts up there in Washington D.C.

We don't need a country, we don't deserve freedom. All we care about is a death celebrity. Go watch MJ. damn fool

  • yeah, and that is why 44000 people don't die every year in Cuba like in America. Hitler did that, Castro did this, socialist, afro- leninism.

You guys are simply idiots. AFP are being paid by co-operate America to organise and feed you guys with lies, they have the cash, you don't. They own the healthcare sector, not us. They drop peoples insurances in the middle of treatment and you think your system is okay?

They make millions while you suffer Define Socialism. What do you know about Castro

  • Don't care anymore, whatever happens, happens?

We do have a corrupted Health Care system run by elitist, corrupted corporatism. Yes I am against that, but this Health Care bill is not going in the right direction. Let's hope that I am wrong.

  • "you guys are screwed for at least next 20 years. "

Does that mean you are leaving?

The concrete reality is that 70% of the citizens of this country want this legislation passed, and we are going to get it, sooner or later.

The 30% of you who don't like the decision of the majority of the country are free to leave... or grin and bear it.

  • Free at last?!

Does anyone stop and ask why health care costs have gone through the roof from the mid 60s til now?

    Anyone?

Rep Grayson? Hello? Free at last? What a sick joke.

  • So does Michael Moore's movie SiCKO no longer apply? Or do I have to wait for the president's signature.

This could still die in the Senate, I don't think anyone can celebrate just yet.

  • I love you Alan!

Keep up the good voice. Your's is one of the most even and makes common sense!

  • Alan Grayson Is The Man! America's True Representative

  • Rep. Alan Grayson, your right we are free at last. Thanks for having the courage to give us little people such a direct and clear voice. Thanks you.

  • and personally I think we ALL have you to thank

  • I'm very interested to see how this plays out once signed into law. Hopefully it really does what it's supposed to.

  • Ah yes, the 1960's. I remember them well.

25 cent gas, a booming housing industry, a strong real estate market, the auto industry selling new muscle cars as fast as they could produce them, and we landed on the moon.

    Terrible... just terrible.

You will have to do better than that if you are going to earn your little lobbyist handout.

  • Davetech23: geez,I see you must have grown up in a bubble. Well, let's see - race riots all over the country, urban unrest, large increase in crimes, anti-war protests, draft; 65+K death in Vietnam started by freedom-loving war-mongering liberals JFK and LBJ.

Must have been an exciting decade - well, we could only hope for change like that again.

  • well, it's 1960's all over again - when liberals spending and wars brought down the nation for nearly twenty years. Of course, Bush was your new LBJ and Obama is new Nixon - you guys are screwed.

  • youre a dumbass. First of all, the sixties were the peak of american culture and innovation. second of all, obama isnt a lying, cheating, piece of shit.

  • Please keep your blog-talkingpoint parroting to yourself.

  • Robstailey: yeah, you sing and dance kumbaya, dumbass. you guys are screwed for at least next 20 years.

  • hysterical

  • JoeyGold.... do not be afraid. The republican's fear campaign has made many afraid but it has been repeatedly shown that there is no substance to their "facts".

  • please run for president. obama feels like the manchurian candidate. i'm not sure who the hell i voted for.

  • I was just thinking, this bill might have not passed had it not been for those 2 extra house seats we just picked up last week. Hilarious!

  • how is this a victory against fear? what about the fact that IT WILL BE ILLEGAL to be uninsured? What about when the govt decides that it is ILLEGAL to not take their medicines, i.e. vaccines or chemo for cancer. Its not good and its FAR FROM SOCIALIZED MEDICINE when a corrupt capitalist society gets into the medical business!! This will be the fall of western medicine. The federal government is incapable of so much as saving people in hurricanes...im supposed 2 trust them w/my health?

  • Good work Grayson!

  • thank you for standing up and doing the right thing rep grayson. people think of this as a political issue, but as oyu point out, though roundaboutly, it is in fact a moral issue. "fear is failure and the forerunner of failure."

  • But how will it save lives? We need single-payer. :(

  • Still not enough! Single Payer! The way ever other industrialized nation does it..............

  • Well done Grayson. Didn't get to see much action from you during the final passing HR 3962 though. But it looked like you handed copies of your balls to some Democratic congressman. Keep passing out your balls man, we need 'em!

  • here's hoping the senate shoots it down!

  • now let's go for universal healthcare........

  • Thanks for your great endeavor Congressman Alan Grayson for the Health Care Bill. I'm sure the Senate will pass it. Now what will be the next agenda. Hmmmm Tell you what, FREE ENERGY: MAGNETIC, SOLAR, COMPRESSED AIR, WATER ENERGY. Please work for these.

  • campaign reform would be beyond my wildest dreams.

  • mosniper - you can get your point across without such foul language.

I'd like to see a list of those 39 dems so I can rag them about being bought and paid for and for their failure to vote in a way that represents the clearly stated wishes of their constituents.

  • We will not be governed by the insurance companies or wall street! It's time to get rid of these horrible republicans! Corporate communist!

    Evolution here we come!

  • it about time they passs that bill, now :

Fuck united health care, fuck Stephen J. Hemsley, fuck Edward Hanway, fuck Michael McCallister, fuck Ronald A. Williams, fuck Allen Wise. It a good think (for those that don't know) that people won't die becuase of not having health care insurance . 219 democratic votes for it and 39 against it, epic win. Rep. Joe Cao was the only (r) to vote for the bill. Alan greyson is a great rep.

  • THANK YOU!!! Someone with a brain lol.

  • This bill is the road to Socialism! I smell a Revolution in the horizon

  • Lunatic whack-jobs. What's wrong with you idiots?

  • Alan Grayson for POTUS.

  • Yeah!!! Suck it Republicans!

  • OH MY GOD!!!! It Happened!!! My god the stock market is fixing to sky rocket in the hundreds by Monday morning

  • THANK YOU Rep. Grayson!!!!!!!!! You gave the little people a voice!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow...lmao!!! you guys are making this wayy wayyy to easy...THERE IS RATIONING NOW!!!!!! You talk about government bureaucracy, but there is insurance bureaucracy RIGHT NOW WHERE PEOPLE ARE GETTING DENNIED...but I guess thats not rationing right. Screw the other guy as long as I get mine right....thats a horrible argument.

  • and FYI President Obama just signed a bill worth for our defense worth 680 Billion on tuesday. AND THATS JUST FOR ONE YEAR!!! The cost of health care is spread out over 10 years!!!! So I guess wars and killing is ok to fund with our tax dollars but when Americans are dying right here right now it's ok to ignore right?!?!?! People...its called common sense. ;)

  • We'll still go broke paying for health care.

  • Brother we are already BROKE. Just wait till the Chinese stop loaning us money for the 2 unconstitutional wars that Bush put us in. Remember Obama on the campaign trail spewing his lies that he would end the wars? Get ready for a Bumpy ride ahead and a Revolution!

  • God I hope it starts soon.

  • The only real socialism we have is for the Elite. They get any money they need and they get it handed to them. If its socialism for the Elite, I hear ya, If it's socialism for the people, we've got anything but.

  • America is the GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH!!!! Tell me exactly what innovation is there to run a health care business and deny coverage to people??? Yeah it really takes some great innovation to do that.

  • I'm sure most people would prefer rationing to bankruptcy. Moreover, where does this rationing idea come from - Did you come up with it yourself?

I'm from Canada. I can assure you -- despite what your right wing lunatic pendants tell you -- our healthcare is not rationed.

  • Heres the thing canada and the US are quite different nations. You see Canada doesn't have 35 million thugs who don't want to work and are still being "oppressed" by the white man. And on top of that you have 30 million illegals. With the government running this system, its gonna get worse alot worse. And I guarantee rationing will happen within the next 7 years. Soon as these hugs deficits catch up to us, things are gonna start getting cut.

  • Plus Canada doesn't have too many pieces of crap like you.

  • Yeah I'm a piece of crap because I work hard and believe in personal responsibility. Your right my kind of people don't seem to fit into socialist America very well with the welfare checks and the gangsters collecting food stamps. You reap what you sow, and this country is reaping 25 years of liberal politically correct bullshit.

  • Well at least we're in agreement on you being a piece of crap. Now if we could just get Joe the plumber to flush you.

  • Free market huh.....HEALTH CARE SHOULDN'T BE A BUSINESS!!!! You can privatize whatever you want, but if my house catches fire I want to be able to call the fire department and not get a bill because its paid by my tax dollars. If I get sick I should be able to get care regardless of my financial state.

  • How touching. You're a big goddamn hero.

Only I have to wonder how many will die in the future because there is no free market driving innovation (not that there is very much free market in health care at this moment).

  • @studybox

Now ALL citizens of America can benefit from the gov. research monies that have been put into medical and pharma research grants-- that until now only corporations profitted from.

I'm hoping that now there is more profit in CURING disease than there is in just treating it --which is potentially what occurs in profit driven medicine.

  • 2 scientist hold the U.S. applied pat 20090010962 for genentically engineered H1N1 swine flu who work for the WHO at their influenza labThe insert of the vaccine shows it contains 50,000 parts per billion mercury The EPA classifies a liquid with 200 parts per billion mercury as hazardous wasteSo WHO shouts "Flu!" pandemics6 to inoculate you with toxins that could cronically kill you while drug co.s make millions off the vaccine A created virus a paniced public= profit, a big money making scam

  • So Perrr you're against fighting wars because we can't afford them too right?

  • Let,s see if you,re still so gun-ho, and pro- gov, if and when you find out that our goverment is in the final process of making a global treaty with the U.N. to give up our sovereignty and common law, for napoleonic law and you and everyone gets slapped with taxes unheard of by U.N. appointed unelected officials to bankrupt us, to control our every doing.

  • This has already happened in England, as appeared in an article,"A Sorry day for Britian,Democracy and the Torries" pg.16 Nov.5th,s Daily Mail paper

  • what has?

  • I hope you still feel so gun-ho about gov. when and if the Global Warming Bill goes thru, which is a hiddenTreaty to give U.S. sovereignty and common law to the U.N. thru the E.U. in exchange for napoleonic laws and global taxes meant to subjugate, make poorer and control everyone here.

  • The English have appointed UNELECTED officials they have NO say in their goverment, thats what this Bill-Treaty will bring here. Reported in the Daily Mail Nov.5th under the headline:"A Sorry Day For Britian,Democracy, and Torries." Its already happening in England.
