  • :21 and :46 is without a doubt a single speed, not fixed gear.

  • Comment removed

  • 3 is a sing speed

  • Dood ..half these bikes are single speeds ....you can see the freewheels and hence the Brakes on Front & Rear wheels .... Brakes are 4 Fakes.... Conversions are Cool as long as they are Fixed & Not Faux ..... and if the chain breaks ...try and go for the grass...

  • i would have been stealing shits

  • if i just have the frame , wheels, ... what else do in need to make it a fixiee ? can anyone tell me? and how much are they ??

  • the frame needs to have a reversable hub to actually make the bike fixed. you only need one cog and one sprocket. handlebars are recommended

  • a couple looked like they had a freewheel, not to mention the lame conversions, conversion=gay

  • whe you ride a conversion, you ride it down a road that will ultimatly not lead to true happiness :P

  • fuck that im not gonna spend 350 on a track frame

  • these are soo ugly.. and like 99 % had breaks ahahaha. and i wouldnt doubt there all conversions.

  • "if your chain breaks just put your foot in back tire "

you mean on the back tire

  • all ugly

  • if your chain breaks just put your foot in back tire

  • "who puts handbrakes on theirs?

    especially the back one. "

uuhhhhhh... smart people maybe? i ride brakeless but at times i feel like throwing on a front brake

  • I have a brake on the front wheel of my fixed gear. Sheldon Brown wrote that the front brake is a good safety measure in case the chain breaks.

  • @bicyclespokesman you know you can stick your foot in the back tire to stop. thats what i used to do when i was 10 years old...

  • i got a back brake on mine in case i cant stop fast enough or to lazy

  • Bike #3 is a single speed BRO

  • ooo nice gtb and masi.. just the frames though.. sad what they did to those nice frames

  • A lot of these people don't lock their wheels to whatever they lock their bike to, doesn't this make wheel stealing very easy?

  • Not if the front wheel isn't quick release. But even then most of these people are at coffee shops where they can see their stuff.

  • Ah, I see! Both points I managed to overlook! Maybe being a cyclist in London has made me hyper-paranoid about being a victim of theft.

  • the first one is a langster and the space between the hub and the chain suggest a single freewheel and not a fixed cog. The same goes for #3. I can't say for certain on any of them but thats just how it looks to me.

  • a fair number of those bikes are single-speed and not fixed gear.

  • I am pretty sure that all of the bikes are fixed gears. When I took the photos, I skipped the single speeds. Which ones do you think are single speeds

  • @bicyclespokesman Bike 1 @0:20, and Bike 3 @0:43 are definitely just single speeds. Others looked like they might be, but it's tough to tell from the angle of the photos.

  • who puts handbrakes on theirs?

    especially the back one.

  • Peace this is a nice video it is good to see someone putting DC's scene on this intergalatic map of youtube. and my friend owns bike # 10

  • Thanks for watching the video and I am glad that you enjoyed it. I'd like to find the owner of Bike #5, the pad on the top tube looks dangerous.
