How did a 6-4-1 ND team make it to the Fiesta Bowl when Boise State was 11-1 and didnt go? I find it funny that a 7-5 Uconn team went to the Fiesta last year and got beat by OU. I guess its ND so if they go 500 ball then they are on their way to a national championship!

@FresnoStateDogs The old bowl alliance system had no selection stipulations -- the bowls could pick any at large bowl eligible team they wanted, so they picked Notre Dame.

i hate lou holtz but i also dislike cu G B R but id cheer the buffs on now they are pac 12 and im friends with steve blair linebacker for cu back in 1967 68 so go huskers and go buffs but also if compared nebraska owns cu not trolling here but five championships to one just facts and agreed with chzisikebest ND sucks

I hated how a team with barely a winning record ended up in a new years bowl game playing one of the better teams that didn't win a title. Notre Dame should have been in the Independence Bowl. Is that trash talk? don't care it's fact.

@Stephist Its Notre Dame my friend. That is the only team that could lose 4 games and still find a way to play in a major bowl game. But regardless, a 6-4-1 team had no business playing a 10-1 team in the Fiesta Bowl.
