Setting up Addictive drums with your E kit

I cannot find any info for kits with midi out only. How do you connect them to a laptop?

My drum brain has 1 midi out socket. I got a usb to midi in and midi out cable. Do I now need to get a midi cable with midi in on one side and midi in and midi out on the other ? Thanks for your help !

Excellent--should have been included with the software, in my opinion! Have you ever used AD live and what do you think about running audio directly out of the Macbook Pro's audio out jack in to a direct box? Would that be sufficient?

@bgibson72 Never used it live - I'm a guitarist really but got a real good deal on an a yamaha e-kit. I'm sure it would work though. I'd never gig the drum brain sounds - they are so electronic. I know that small studios use software like addictive drums to stop them having to keep in stock x amount of different snares/kicks etc.

Messing about when i hit the pads it registers in AD BUT if i strike really fast it only registers 1 hit and not the others, is this a setting somewhere? my mac is well fast enough. 8 gig mac pro

Once this is all set up do you listen through headphone on the DTXpress or your computer? is it supposed to send the information back to the brain?

Any help very very appreciated I must admit im lost in regards the settings on the dtxpress, can you help?

@Media73TV it only registering one hit may well be down to some sensitivity setting. I haven't had that issue at all. I listen through the headphone out put on the computer not from the brain. The brain is merely triggering the software.

Try playing with trigger settings in AD and on your brain.

Also it is not registering all the hits any idea why? if i hit snare fast 4 times it only plays the first hit. Help. Mac pro 8 gig ram
