so far I went from video 1 through 3 and no explanation on the pencil tool, the brush, the snap to line, how to quantize, the keyboard shortcuts, navigation, etc... But I am loving the tutorials so far, and the quality is awesome.

@LRCProductionsTV yes - iI try to leave out stuff that people tend to pick up on there own, it can be confusing for absolute beginners - but explaining every detail as I did in the past really bloated the videos - and again, for little things that are fairly easy to figure out just by watching. So far it seems to be working out ok. In the past I'd get comments like "were not retarded" or You don't have to explain every detail." Quantize and snapping are is in other videos.

@megvagyimmartizenyol Covered this in video 2 - You can time stretch samples - that works the best. set to Pro Transient adjust the time stretch to the amount you prefer. You can also stretch with Edison, but the is a bit tedious. Audio stretching is going to be extraordinary in newer versions of FL Studio BTW. A little reverb or short echo delay can help "refill" delta gaps that can be caused by extreme stretching.

How do u slice samples from a mp3?

@hirbot I covered it in video 2 - covered it knowing that people would need to know that before they could get the most out of this video. Use edison and auto slice it and export the samples you want. You can slice it manually in the playlist and make it unique too. Beat slicing with edison can process and export a few hundred samples from an mp3 in about a minute with only a few clicks.

You could just download sample packs from other places on the web or isohunt etc... tehn drag and drop the folder into the left menu...and import them instead I think. Must they be FPC samples exclusively? Surely not.

@2theothers2 that is more work, but yes. results can be better when you create custom kits. All you need to do is select the empty preset in the FPC and drag the samples on the pads. Drag more than one sample on a pad to create layers too.

Great Help! I learned in this video how to change velocity on one instrument when the notes are stacked on top of each other on the piano roll, move the one note over to an empty beat, make the velocity change, and then move it back. As an FL beginner, this had eluded me.

When in piano roll, iv finished making a lead/loop, but it doesn't finish at the end of the bar, so basically my lead will play, then there will be like a 2 second wait until it plays again. how do i cut that 2 second part out ?? help would be appreciated

@ste1438 There is not much to explain - a drummer wouldn't use two sets of hi-hatsjust to play an open and closed hat at the same time. It would make more sense to use another cymbal like a, ride, crash... not an open and closed hat at the same time.

You should have stated at the beginning the exact audio clips you want as part of any set.. You didnt really show which ones are required and the easiest way to get them in order. Other than that though good video. One of your slower less useful ones though imo, but nevertheless useful to know.

@BRADM69 It's not important - I actually did that on purpose. In the past people were too hung up on using the "exact" same samples that I used. It's so important to experiment with different samples. The samples I used hereare not that good either. I just randomly selected samples for demonstrating basic concepts, not for quality production.

@YannickzTV first you need to download from samplefusion - I explained this is the beginning of the video. The shared data folder will be created. It's important to find out where your samples are located. If you can't find it , from the library options menu just run a search for "shared". You find the folder pretty quickly.

@darksage969 Actually, this kit was almost a random selection - kind of sub par IMO. I can't remember what samples I selected though. You can easily come up with a better kit with the samples from sample fusion. That is where all these samples came from.

@8St3fan8 not really - volume is the level for the extire track - like master volume. Velocity is the level at a specific time. To velocity of a note is how loudly or softly the note plays.

@Supersonicboom7 You shouldn't get errors - try to update the Imageline downloader. You'll find it in your account downloads. Otherwise get technical support. I'm not a big fan of the downloader myself. I do know Imagline is making an effort to make that a more user friendly.

@goldenage101 I don't think thats a good idea - keep your personal samples out of the shared data folder. The shared data folder is not really user friendly. it is a folder intended for FL Studio plugins and it does not exist until you download form sample fusion. Accessing the shared data folder directly is somewhat of a hack ,and not intended to be use for personal files.

@1234567857 Yes, the shared data folder does not exist until you download from sample fusion. That is why I covered that little topic of downloading samples in the beginning. You just don't have any shared data samples yet. Once you initiate the download from sample fusion, the shared data folder is created. This question comes up often.

@evildarkshit Yes I have gotten some requests to upload music. Most people are not interested though, and I don't want to turn off my subscribers by promoting it. I can't do much about the lack of interest. There is just too much competition out there from major record labels on YouTube and MySpace. I'm working in 3D midi-event driven animation now for my music productions. They will be uploaded to YouTube eventually. I'm hoping that those music videos will get more attention.

@djstudiolinked I'm not really interested - I'm working in multi-media. I really want to do something different with my music because it really is not mainstream. I am 3D graphic artist and programmer as well as an electronic musician. I'm planning on bring it all together and releasing a DVD next year. I know a lot of musicians - both signed and independent - no one I know is making money right now. A side from an occsional Demo, I can't release any music until the DVD is complete anyway.

@darezeal you can save it then cut the pattern you want and go to new and paste it, then save the new project and open the old one and do this again until you have got all the patterns you want in the new project, aslong as you dont close FL they will stay on your clipboard, this is kinda complicated and slow but i dont know of any other way of doing it
