The intro reminded me of the first album. I feel like they are moving more and more towards radio playability. They have really lost the edge that they created, that is melodic death metal. they are getting closer and closer to hard rock, nu metal. Personally I prefer the first few albums but this stuff is still good.

While At the Gates and In Flames started in 1990. And just because they changed from their original genre, that doesn't mean they also changed the genre.
