  • I liked and I loved all of your videos so I had to subscribe.

    SONG????????????????/

  • no it will ruin the drives sorry. nice car i have the same one but a 2012 version

  • can u put 8 cell batteries in any slash

  • Paddles work sooo much better when there facing the right direction plus you get a cool rooster tail

  • thats the brushed moto right?

  • that is so cool!

  • O how much i wish we had sand where i live :D .....

  • go to pad 4 where there is dunes on both sides go to the very first set of dunes i do the big dunes not those little baby ones.

  • that thing is slow though too

  • @Flippinsweetburgers where did you get your from the 99 cent store?

  • remember that part from 1:10 to 1:15?

    that was cool.

  • Love the vid. Slash is the best Short Course around

  • @Flippinsweetburgers LOL, I take it you're referring to the 6 people who disliked the video. Thanks! :)

  • where did you get the paddles and how much wer they

  • @RCcarWIZERD Paddles are made by Panther, they're about $15 in most online hobby shops, like A Main Hobbies for example.

  • lol backward paddles... but all the vid? that is not affect the performence?

  • @slash4x4lipo I think the reason we didn't notice is because they worked so well. Might have to do it again :)

  • cool

  • it must work great in reverse

  • soes sand get in places it shouldnt because im thinking of taking mine to glamis but im not sure

  • @kurleeful As long as you close off the gear cover, and keep an eye on everything you should be fine! Go take it for a spin in the dunes and have fun!

  • @TeamDebead thanks

  • @TeamDebead How long does your batter last for? Oh and nice vid :)

  • @kurleeful thers nothing wrong in running on sand just watch the slipper and the temp and it'll b fine trust me dunes is all we hv here to run in uae

  • man ur killing the springs

  • @xpkxk0x No shocks or springs were harmed in the making of this video :)

  • i take it you never put the paddles on right. it should fling more sand than that

  • how high can you jump those things with out it breaking

  • @JAKOBROCKS864 These trucks are extremely durable. It does depend on your landing surface and how clean the landing is, but in sand dunes, I'm sure you could launch it pretty far without breakage.

  • @TeamDebead yeah thanks. i planning on getting one soon because the one i had before couldn't jump as high without the shocks breaking and it suck having to buy shocks every time i jump it too high.

  • how high can you jump those things

  • how much did it cost total

  • if the paddles where backwards why didnt you just put the right on the left and the left on the right

  • @mvmsjaguars53 Because we didn't notice they were backwards til I made the video :) We were having too much fun to notice!

  • im thinkning about getting one of these are they good for any kind of off road and bashing? plz respond

  • @ufumeno These are perfect for offroad and bashing. They are extremely tough RC cars. I'm still running original parts, except for upgraded shocks, after a few years of bashing. And I had upgraded the shocks from the beginning.

  • What motor are you useing(Brand)(Name)???? I assume it's brusless

  • @ADReptiles Its the Traxxas Velineon Motor and Esc combo, which is brushless and waterproof :)

  • paddles were backwards the whole time?

  • will stock tires work for stuff like that

  • @wunkin33 Theyt'll work, you just won't get as much punch/traction or sweet, sweet roost kicking out from behind your rig :)

  • what song is this

  • @00through09 It was from one of the Spiderman trailers - Lunatic Calm - Leave You Far Behind

  • awsome vid i might get a slash

  • shouldn't you have a flag on those... jk =)

  • @flyingbryanful Yes, yes we should :) I'll have to make little scale whips to go on em. If I could make an LED one that would be sweet! Hmm maybe one of the skinny glow bracelets would work for that...

  • why u dont drive on water?

  • @0o0onub It's not a boat :)

  • ahahha your paddles are backwards!!! noob

  • @jerry3788 If you get some thicker sand and quite a bit of it in the motor, you'll probably blow some bearings. I had to rebuild my VXL motor once, after 5 years of owning it. I found mostly beach sand in it. Traxxas has a rebuild kit for about $20, I think it was, that has the bearings and some new hardware. It was really easy to rebuild.

  • will it go up oldsmobiel?

  • @number5rhino LOL It's always been way to busy for me to even try it. My guess is probably not, but maybe if it was blown over and smoothed out. If I go on an off weekend, maybe I'll try it :)

  • 2x2 or 4x4

  • @The2kill1shot 2x2. This was before the 4x4s came out. Wouldn't mind trying a 4x4 out now though :)

  • @TeamDebead the 4x4 is amazing you need to get it its the best rc car ive drove

  • @TeamDebead What kind of battery do you have?

  • @Trevizdabomb We're using 7 cells. No lipos yet :)

  • @TeamDebead Oh wow it seems like it's going pretty fast for being a 7 cell. What kind of motor?

  • @Trevizdabomb The Traxxas VXL motor and ESC combo

  • @TeamDebead Oh the Velineon Brushless System. That's the same one i have too, i have the rustler vxl with an 3 cell 11.1 lipo it's freakin nuts! But i have yet to take it to the desert :(

  • I like the 2 wheel action at 2:35. Cool.

  • @MrHotty2424 get the vxl system, its water proof and with the right gearing it will go just as fast as the mamba max

  • @Godsgalkl What are you referring too? The batteries? 10-15 minutes if you have it pinned and depending on the size of the battery. Tire? Running them in soft sand, they'll last forever. The Slash itself? Still going strong after four years

  • wheels? tires? nice video :)

  • @Sleytownmafia Wheels - 2.2 Traxxas Chrome Wheels around $6 @ Hobby People. Tires - Panther Paddles, can find em just about everywhere :)

  • @TeamDebead thanks those wheels are really cheap n look great black, will you make more slash vids

  • @TeamDebead ya dude i cnt wait till i can bring mine next trip

  • dude you could have gotten so much more tracktion if the paddles were on right

  • We know, we know. But hey they still hooked up pretty darn good for being backwards :) Next time we run in the dunes, that'll be the first and last thing we check!

  • @TeamDebead actually, running paddles like these backwards helps lessen the load on the motor & run cooler. however it doesnt work on the proline sand paws like what i got.

  • wait were you using the paddles backwards the whole time.

  • could u possibly tell me wat the top speed for the slash would b with the stock gearin, vxl system and 7 cell battery?

  • @RcPrO33 Probably around 40mph on dirt. We never measure with any equipment so it's just a guess. Hope it helps a bit.

  • @TeamDebead yeah that did help thanks

  • @RcPrO33 gps showed 30 mph on blacktop

  • what gearing?

  • @cripin2021 Shoot, I don't remember. But it wasn't anything crazy, probably an 86 spur and maybe an18 pinion. Great advice too on the motor protection, thanks for posting that up!

  • @TeamDebead lol whats crazy is on my vxl i could run 21/86 thru the sand at the lake for 20 mins. wouldnt recommend it tho for sake of your motor. VXL motors sure are beastly. i still just stick with 18/86 for backyard, my motor deals with enough crap from my steel driveshafts. i had to upp it to steel cuz i found out quick that that vxl torque can shred those plastic shafts.

  • can you run the traxxas titan 12t in the sand with out burning it out???? please write back.

  • @shane10141 It's a lot of work for the 12t to push you through the thicker sand. But we have run those out there, just around camp though. Just check it every now and then, make sure it's not cookin :)

  • @shane10141 the biggest concern is getting sand in the motor, but an electric motor pre-filter can help(or just any small breathable pouch). VXL's are mainly sandproof, but it can leak in through the end bell cap. In this case, putting some tape over the bearing opening can be a good precaution.

  • I was supposed to run my brusheless sc10 at silver lake dune but I hit a 4x4 at about 60mph... ripped it up pretty good but it looked awsome... So I ran my buddys 5b and the other guy had a awd nitro car but 5b is the icing on the cake

  • Hey Is That Electric or Gas i Have 2 Gas ones and they Suck So I Want one That Will Go To The Dunes So Ya

  • @scootbmxer8 Electric, go for it, you won't regret it :)

  • @TeamDebead yes you will. electric motors go quick in the dunes. i went through 3 in a short glamis season. and im not a dumbass

  • @kingspadeshankz5 What motors were you using? We've got the waterproof VXLs, which are great for keeping the sand out too. So far no issues for us. Bummer you had to go through 3 :(

  • The paddles still worked pretty good even though they were on backwards

  • 20 mn of pure fun = 2h of cleaning :D

  • @wildbings LOL it wasn't that bad. Air compressors help speed things up. Nice thing about Glamis sand too, it doesn't tend to stick like beach sand or other dirt. Usually it brushes off nice and easy :)

  • wow.. they are backwards

  • sweet video!!!

  • why does it matter if the paddles are on backwards?

  • @TRAININGFLAME the paddles are scooped, so one way doesn't push as much sand as the other.

  • Hey TeamDebead! Can you guys tell which wheeldrive is best for dunes? 2WD or 4WD? The slash you use in the video is 4WD right?

  • @mort887 Nope, that's a 2WD Slash :) If we had the 4WD ones, we would be glad to test and get video. I think they are both gonna be fun. The two wheel drive, just like a 1:1 you will be able to pitch out more, the 4WD will be able to climb better and get more torque overall.

  • @TeamDebead Okay :) Glad you answered.

  • You should use a 3s lipo next time. :D

  • sweet videow

  • i like your vid

  • are you brushless i just want to know?

  • @knic4398 Yes, VXL system.

  • thanks

  • where do you get the sand padeles for tires?

  • @ci504ci At the local Hobby Shop. But you can find them online too. HPI, Panther, and Proline all have 2.2 paddle tires :)

  • I want a car of such

  • @rctrucknut same here

  • BEST rc video,Nice one

  • Now I have to get me some chrome rims and fat Paddles on my Slash. Too bad we don't have this kind of dunes here... :-(

    But hey! Great video!

    / T.

  • Im new to the whole r/c thing but what scale is that?

  • @XRazorBlad3X 1:10 scale Most of the short course looking rc trucks will be 1:10.

  • As anyone done an organized RC race on dunes like this?

  • o and for glamis a baja 5b is the way to go i tryed running my slash out there blow motors out :(

  • wwhere r u in the video over by south side?

  • Yeah we were around wash 28 or so, it was Thanksgiving, so very busy.

  • @TeamDebead o i stay at 6 and i run my 5b alll day just becuzz i can lol

  • u need a lipo for that shit!

  • what are the wheels on the back? i'm buying the panther paddles but love them wheels you have

  • They're the 2.2 Traxxas Chrome Wheels, around $6 at Hobby People a pair. For being cheap in price, they last pretty long. :)

  • bro thats a 6 cell battery

  • First of all, not a bro, second - that's a 7 cell. Don't know why you don't think it isn't. It's got 6 cells all running the same way side by side and the 7th cell turned at the end of the pack. Hi-Energy 8.4v 4500mAh.

  • Are those HPI sand tires or Traxxas or what ? They look sick but I don't know who makes them, thanks!

  • Those are made by Panther, they're just Panther paddles. If you've got a Hobby People near you, they carry 'em, otherwise check out online stores like Tower.

  • Great video! I have 3 Traxxas Bandits set up for dune bashing. What a thrill!

  • one word : lipo (11.1 volts of pure power)

  • Nice thought, but need the charger to go with it too :)

    Someday *sigh*

  • i dont notice how he put them on wronge

  • The scoops of the paddles should be going the other direction to kick more sand out and get better grip.

  • you do know that you can put the paddle tire on the right way if you just put it on the opposite wheel

  • Yes we know. The problem was when we took off the street tires and wheels, we didn't pay attention when we put the paddles on. We just never noticed they were backwards until we were already done :) Thanks for the tip though.

  • just bring a can of pressurized air to blow the sand of when your done

  • hey is it bad for an electric rc car to be in the sand becouse im going to palm springs in a month and wanna bring my rustler vxl with me so if anyone knows i would appreciate it if someone would tell me if its bad for it in the sand and if it is what should i do to prevent that

  • The RCs in this video are electric and they all survived just fine. Before you go, make sure your gears are sealed, use tape if needed to cover any gaps in the gear cover. When your done playing use compressed air and a brush to clean everything out, then use some 3 in 1 oil to lube everything back up.

  • @TeamDebead thanks for your info =D

  • That's cool, but as someone who used to RACE it makes me cringe to see near that much sand..... lol PLEASE tell me you at least take care of the bearings? PLEASE! THINK OF THE BEARINGS! lol

  • Don't worry, we take good care of the cars afterwards. I still worry about driving them in so much sand, but Glamis sand is just too awesome to pass up!!

  • @2007tacoma

seal it where the 2 halves meet with some sort of automotive sealant

  • my friends slash vxl 4x4 has trouble with sand and small gravel getting in his diffs... do you know what fixes that? its even the waterproof one too!

  • glamis looks great ive benn to litte seharra OK

  • I hope not literally :)

  • i just got the velineon brushless system for my slash but i only get to 26mph what might i need to make it faster

  • Check to make sure the ESC is on the correct setting. If you accidentally have it set for lipo but use a regular battery, you'll have problems or if it's on training mode :)

  • hey, whats better for driving in the sand, a two wheel drive car or a four wheel, im looking to get either a slash 2wd (with a BL upgrade) or a slash 4x4 and need to know which would perform better in the sand thanks.

  • 4x4 is always better in everything off road, just a little more expensive and slightly slower, but not by much get the 4x4!

  • thanks, then thats what ill do

  • u should get front panthers for it it gets sharper turns

    :)

  • Yea, those are definitely on the wish list :) My buddy, whose slash is on the vid, made his own razors, super skinny for the front, so those'll be on the next vid.

  • very good camera work

  • I would likt to see a nitro one

  • when ever u are done using ur car use an air compressor and blow everything and i think thats the best way

  • ya thats why i asked but thanks anyway

  • with the stock motor, does sand and stuff get stock in the motor?

  • We were using a brushless motor, not the stock 12 turn. I would recommend blowing out the 12 turn with some compressed air afterwards.

  • It looks like your paddles are on backwards at 0:17, am i wrong? I cant see to well.

  • Not Wrong :)

  • @ltleontis54321 yes they are

  • too bad i burnt up my vxl out at glamis :(

  • would i just need to get the motor or would i have to replace the speed control to?

  • Yes, you have to upgrade the ESC, or Electronic Speed Control.

  • so what is the name of the waterproof motor

  • It's just the Traxxas VXL Brushless motor. The combo comes with the motor and the VXL ESC that can handle brushless motors.

  • what do you think would be a good cheap brushless motor for the sc10?

would i have to change the speed control to?

sorry for asking so many questions im new to the electric rc cars and trucks but im experienced with nitro cars and trucks

    thank you

  • The traxxas VXL system, motor and ESC combo, is awesome, especially since they're waterproof now. You have to upgrade the ESC. VXL is one of the cheaper combos, but it is still around $200 brand new. Look for used ones, the motors are easy and cheap to rebuild and Traxxas has a great trade in program for non-working ESCs.

  • do you think a stock sc10 would run well in glamis

  • Unless you have some brushless power, you might bog down a bit, but it should still run OK. There's really only one way to find out...take it out there, and get some footage too!

  • your paddles are mounted wrong i think

  • Yeah, we covered that a couple comments down.

  • sweet slash u should try st. anthoney

  • If I ever get up to Idaho and can bring my quad and my Slash, I definitely wouldn't mind cruising some new dunes.

  • way sick!!!!!!!! throw a 2s or 3s in it next time and get twice the speed! :)

  • hey are you running your paddles backwards?

  • Yeah, I think my buddy did put em on backwards. I checked some other footage and it looks that way. He was just so excited to get it on the sand he didn't pay attention! LOL

  • that is awesome, i also live in ca, what it running for power? is it brushless?

  • Yeah, it's brushless, running on the Traxxas Waterproof VXL Syxtem

  • awesome, but needs to be faster :>/
