May I recommend the book 'A Pop Reviolution, the transatlantic music scene 1965 to 1969' by the invisible man. The author is a big fan of this fine instrumental.
My dad used to have the Beat Club version on VHS and would play this with the volume turned up when he got drunk when I was a kid in the 80's. It was only till lately that I had it in my head and needed to know what it was called, and who it was. Thank god for Google and 10 minutes of searching.
This was one of my mom's favorite albums. I copied it from album to my ipod and listen to it occasionally. She passed away in 1990!

Originally a German WW1 "trench song", complete with lyrics which were rather adult in nature.
