But, Virtualisation has just done that, it has brought old OS'es back to life. I re-installed Windows 98 yesterday. Just because I can now, without getting an old computer. But emulations ? They are conceptually the worst software there is, this will always remain so. Emulation ? Bad. Virtualisation : Good.

I run Ubuntu on my Mac through Fusion and I gotta say it's quite reliable. Integrates seamlessly. I recommend Fusion over Parallels or Boot Camp.

i run osx86 in a virtual machine on windows xp, and now that the new version of vmware workstation also has unity i can run my linux programs side by side with windows programs, but mac os x does not support vmware tools so therefore i can not use unity with it

so if you got the cash for a pretty powerful mac, this is definitely the way to go for running windows and mac apps side by side

Yeah, linux is good. It can be a good desktop and server. They have vmware workstation for Linux but it doesn't work as well as fusion but that's only because Vmware needs to make a better version for Linux. Linux is only ugly because you obviously don't know what you are talking about and haven't used it. You can make most distros look like any operating system you want. You can make it look like win or mac but default Ubuntu with compiz is very impressive. So stop being a 12 yr old noob

I just installed Windows in a VMWare virtual machine on my MacBook. Not only is it quicker and easier than Boot Camp, but it makes it easier to watch Netflix instant-watch movies (which only work in Windoze). And I was so excited that I installed Linux in a second virtual machine. It's like having 3 computers in one!
