I just won this pedal on eBay for $25, thanks to watching your demo. It's such a great pedal. I use it with an old combo organ in my band, and the square wave works even better with organ.
Thanks! The amp is one of the only solid state amps I've ever played on that has the same tonal characteristics as a tube amp. The clean channel has a gain stage, which is really sensitive, and when you boost it a little it breaks up just like a tube preamp. Unfortunately Hughes & Kettner's newer solid state amps are terrible.
No worries..MG4U, sorry if you meant well...sometimes I act like comment police when I see random disrespect..anyway, I checked out your vid because I am thinking of getting a blueshawk. Would you recommend that? I have a question too: The string spacing. Is it classic Gibson, wider like a fender, or even narrower than a les paul? Thanks..
I definitely recommend the Blueshawk for most types of music, except maybe metal. It's a very versatile instrument, and it feels a lot like a strat or tele. The nut width and scale length are just like a strat or tele: 1 5/8 inches and 25 1/2 inches. Most LP's are 1 11/16 and 24 3/4. I don't know exactly what the bridge string spacing is, but the bridge is obviously strat-like. That and the mahogany neck and body make it sound like a cross between a LP and a tele. So cool.
I appreciate your support. I don't think MG4U meant any harm. I think most people on youtube mean well, I've just seen an undesirable pattern that can develop if we're not careful with our words. Thanks again, and PS I dig the Mehldau and Lovano vids.
Sounds like the camcorder's mic compression is cancelling out the tremolo some. It'd be interesting to set the trem on max intensity, slowest speed, and play while you have something else in the room (alarm clock?) creating a low background buzz....then see if the compressor increases the buzz each time the trem volume dips.
Probably not THAT interesting, but something to do on a rainy day...
I definitely did have problems with compression. I had sold my dynamic mics prior to recording this demo, so I couldn't capture the full intensity of the pedal. Someday I'll have a perfect setup for things like this.

Very useful demo - you have a really nice touch on your guitar. What Gibbie is that. Marshall amp?

Thanks, you're very kind. The guitar is a BluesHawk, and the amp is a Hughes & Kettner.

what strings do u use?

I normally use DR 10's, either Pure Blues or Tite-Fit. Recently I went back to Gibson Bright Wires on this guitar, but I'm not sure I like them.

Thanks for this - I was looking at the Mad Professor Mellow Yellow at nearly £200 in UK!!
This sounds sweet too and at £29.95 !!
