If a state wants creationism taught in school, the majority will vote, if it doesn't impede on the rights of the individual, then it will be implemented. This then becomes a state by state issue. Same with all social policies, it's a better system than Federal one size fits all. That's why it's written in your Constitution.

The senate tried to override but was one vote short of 67. The 34 Nays were all Republican senators. Yes that's correct every single democrat including byrd and many republicans voted to override.

What does Communism have to do with opinions on the Iraq foreign policy? People need to relearn what communism is. communism is not ultra liberal (it strips people of their LIBERTY). Bull shit. Nazism is ultra-reactionary socialism. While that particular blend of fascism had tastes of the left and right, it was primarily a right wing organization: think right of David Duke and far right of neo-con groups like PNAC that helped kick off the war. While code pink has a probability of preferring more social programs that there currently are within our mixed capitalistic-oriented economy, they clearly do not articulate a desire for complete down-right centrally planned economy.

Furthermore, the civilian groups that had strong influence and desire to enter the war appear to have more in common with Nazism that codepink does. Codepink is nothing more than a bunch of old ladies rightfully frustrated with the war and the young lives its taking in. However, they don't know much about foreign policy or an effective way to resolve or end the war in a swift, stable, and dignified way. They're emotions are real pain and frustration, but they fall to aggregate the whole picture.
