i remember when AMC used to show Godzilla and other monster movies. My grandma taped Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla for me back in I guess 2000 for me when it aired on there.
If any of you are interested, there is a page on facebook that pays tribute to this old channel. We implore you to join now and help us in the fight to put this great channel back the way it was. That's all I have to say about that.
Now days, the new AMC takes credit over this one and that's what ticks me off the most. Now days, they're pretending that this AMC never existed at all. They also have that logo which sucks more. This one looked more classical since its a diamond which represents something beautiful. Now they use the rectangular logo which represents a rectangular shaped box ready to be stuffed with crap and thrown away.
Sweet memories of when AMC really meant American Movie Classics.
Worse yet, AMC now has paid programming from 6AM-9AM six days a week. They might as well rename it "American Merchandising Channel".
What kind of business model chops up R movies to appeal to a young audience and then advertises products like Viagra that appeal to older people??? Why not just watch the modern stuff on HBO and see the whole uncut thing without commercials??? Just asking.
Yep...they really showed "American Movie Classics" back then. As my Mom puts it now, they are "American Movie Crap". Catwoman...yeah, real classic...sheesh!

This was when they really meant movie classics. Today, they show "Catwoman" on their lineup.

You're right. These clips I remember the most. AMC used to be great. Now it's just not the same.

Even in such fairly recent times as 2000 the channel was miles away from what it's currently deteriorated into.
