What is Unity?

There is no way a tattoo artist can go to church in Hawaii without getting a bible beating by the people and the pastors. They believe that the bible says tattoos are evil in the old and new testament. Their ways of reading the bible differ from each person in the church. The Catholic Church are united in the the bible, so you know what to expect. Protestants preached down to me with anger and contempt. Catholics have rules, but they are united in understanding, interpretation, and love.

I've been a member of Unity for about 40 years and have attended 4 different churches with a variety of ministers. Though Unity is sometimes referred to as "Primative Christianity" (because we believe its Christianity taught the way Jesus spoke it), I've never experienced Unity as a specifically Christian religion -- rather trans-faith or inter-faith. My experience has always been that we seek the Truth everywhere, especially our daily lives. I'd like to see more of that in this clip.

I just want a church that doesn't insist I stand up and sway and raise my hands and all that when we sing songs. Geez that's annoying.

@Alana8480 -I remember thinking how corney that would be as well. You are not required to join hands if you choose not to. All you would need to do is retire yourself to an outer an area where you are not going to have people crossing arms in front of you.

We join hands to unite our energy as one while we highten the energy to its fullest with our prayer song. Once the song comes to an end we put our hands in the air to send the peaceful energy out to the universe.

I love UNITY, it changes my life!

I just started attending a UNITY church about a half-hour drive from my home. A former college professor (whom I really liked) that taught me three courses in marketing is the minister. Not only has he not lost a beat, but he's gained a few to boot!

I truly wish I would have found out about Unity when I was growing up. In my heart, it's what I've always believed.
