tell you what, just burn them... painting aren't worth shit in a bankrupt civilisation that can't even afford to take care of it's self and provide for others, art is not art at all, it's just pure snobbery! who's hell is going to see paintings after your gone, Aliens with a taste for fine arts? Get a grip!
I just watched it on Netflix and it seemed a little one sided, which is the fault of those that wouldn't do interviews to explain their side. I am no art lover and truth be told I thought most of the paintings in the film were terrible...but the man behind the collection had his vision and specific instructions for it, which were not honored.
I thought, if they had to break the will, Why not take the art on another two year tour and demolish the old mansion and built an exact replica with mo
@mission762008 Are you joking? The man's will clearly stated that it was not to be moved, sold, rented, loaned, etc. They broke a trust. He bought it so it should stay where he wanted it to.
Give me a break! "Quality experience" over "Mass experience." More Cezannes then the city of Paris,181 by Renoir, 59 by Matisse, 46 by Picasso. As an artist myself, I would be blessed viewing these works ANYWHERE! THE LOCATION OF THIS COLLECTION IS IRRELEVANT TO THE QUALITY OF THE VIEWING EXPERIENCE. UNLESS WE'RE TALKING MT. RUSHMORE, ART CAN BE SEEN ANYWHERE! ART IS FOR THE MASSES, NOT THE ELITE! Art is a gift from GOD meant to be shared by the ARTIST with whomever wishes to view it !
@freddiesalas wow. you must have watched the film blind folded and with earplugs. the elite used their political and financial muscle to take art that they cared nothing about. if you really are an "artist" get ready to have your naive ass taken for a ride. because those shameless shills are gonna plaster that crap of yours on every t-shirt and mug they can. wake up.
This is probably the best documentary I have ever seen! The story addresses some really important issues, like who owns our culture, should the powers that be have the legal ability to over ride the express desires of a private collector after he dies, leaving his BILLIONS of $ of art in a trust so that it would NEVER be moved from the original site, yet the "non profit philanthropic" corporations be able to steal the whole thing and move it to the VERY museum the collector had been at war with
