I think I get it now, they say Caius is burying some one at the beach before he and Lightning fight. I think it's Yuel, since Caius seems to be bouncing back and forth between whatever time Lightning is in and whatever time Noel and Serah are in. And the scene where Yuel(dying) tell's Serah and Noel she has to die or she will be a contradiction to the timeline.
I'm really looking forward to this game, it looks like it takes everything that made XIII good, and improves on everything that made it bad. I don't see how anybody could complain about it. At least not until we actually get our hands on it.

Also I love how they're bringing back the old characters and how you get to travel through time to understand the ff13 universe more since the ff13's plot was a little flawed and confusing. I could say more, but in conclusion in what I've seen so far, this might redeem the FF series.

@Soccerfan2011ful The creators also said they did something in the script that logs your stratergys vs enemies and adapts enemies designed to be harder to change their patern so you cant rely on the same stratergy throughout or to someone else playing aparently. One of the replayability factors they talk about. You choose your path and play style and be forced to rethink it if you play again.
This confuses me. So if lightning is sucked into another portal, and no one seemed to see lightning/everyone thinks that she is crystallized with fang and vanille, does that mean FFXIII's ending a made up happy ending? Because they sure seemed to see each other then!

You know Paradoxes can be very confusing. Some say that the game is five years after, some say it's three years later from the first game. If it's five then Hope would be 19, if it's three he would probably be 17. And then with the time travel I heard he would be 24. I want some clarity on this matter. The last Final Fantas I truly enjoyed was 9. Since then, the combat has kept getting a bit better on each one. The story and characters have also remained very interesting, except for 12. But the side quests and stuff have gotten very dull, even annoying. And the final bosses have been increasingly more disappointing. The last one that was actually fun and a bit challenging was in 10. This one looks very good despite my belief it will have the same problems. Older characters look awesome.
I've pre-ordered Skyrim, 30+ hours into Dark Souls (challenging as fuck but also rewarding) and I'm pre-ordering this when I hear about its pre-order bonuses.
Been reading alot of things about this that have re-fueled my interest. Serah and including rap really put me off at first.

@xNe0my no it isnt, gameplay in story driven rpgs are just the little hacked on thing, you really cant make them fun, with the lengths these games get to they will always get repetitive by the time you finish, you can have a rpg with great gameplay and shit story and the overall game will suck(eternal sonata) or you can have a great story with shit gameplay and have one of the best games ever made(FF6)
your choice, people underexamine how important a good story cna be to making games great

Correction, you don't play Final Fantasy for the gameplay.
Story, characters, music and art is what sets Final Fantasy above other games, gameplay has taken a dip in quality recently but the games as a package have still held strong.

My favourite RPG is Mass Effect 2, though many wouldn't consider it an RPG due to it having guns.

You know Paradoxes can be very confusing. Some say that the game is five years after, some say it's three years later from the first game. If it's five then Hope would be 19, if it's three he would probably be 17. And then with the time travel I heard he would be 24. I want some clarity on this matter. This game better not be confusing with all the time travel involved. Because all I know that this is damn well confusing. But I hope that Hope is around Vanille's age, that would be, Sweet!!!! ;)

I heard the Game is 3 years after the original. 1 year after XIII Snow went looking for Lightning and never returned.
So I assume everyone else is the same age except Hope, they dont look aged at all.
Kind of reminds me of VIII, with all stuff about Time.

The last Final Fantas I truly enjoyed was 9. Since then, the combat has kept getting a bit better on each one. The story and characters have also remained very interesting, except for 12. But the side quests and stuff have gotten very dull, even annoying. And the final bosses have been increasingly more disappointing. The last one that was actually fun and a bit challenging was in 10. This one looks very good despite my belief it will have the same problems. Older characters look awesome.
