I love this theme, 'cause it inspires me to change... And in the game, it's a big change. In fact, when you cross the outer sea, the sensation is that it's another game.
Shame video game music doesn't sound like this anymore :( same with the quality of games themselfs, stuff trying to make a game into a movie experience it's a game godammit they're there to challenge, maybe it's Me but when devs had less to work with it seems they cared a great deal more and it really showed now it's all about the graphics and little else ie the rest of the package, I hate this gen of gaming, exc uncharted, donkey kong country returns and siren this gen really sucks for Me.
Heh, speaking of Mega Man, have you'll ever heard of a game called SNK vs. Capcom on the Neo Geo Pocket? I got the Capcom version fortunately, and my favorite characters were Mega Man and Breath of Fire since their so familiar and awesome. XD I haven't played much Resident Evil or Street Fighter, so my feelings weren't as strong...
That game wasn't half bad. :) But it was mostly nostalgia that got me to like that game. XD
this theme is just too well done! breath of fire 3 music is comparable to any of the other well praised soundtracks in gaming and this is one of the best ones in it! great song!
Anyone else find it funny that when devs had less to work with they made masterpieces ie the games and the music but when they have more to work with the music in general sounds shit, uninspiring just like most of the games out today, most companies are too safe today and make wave after wave of bloody fps and stuff the rest, gaming should be variety not one type of game I don't give 2 craps about, gaming needs to get back to it's roots stuff photorealism and movie type games ffs.
@wesker100000000 I am tired of your nonsensical, nostalgic banter. Saying that games were better when developers had limited tools to work with is quite delusional. We still get a number of great games nowadays. Times change, and so do games. I do not blame you for liking old games, but I simply cannot accept crass generalizations and blaming the whole industry for invalid reasons. You will not commentate on my videos any more. Adieu.
it's probably because only the good games from the 90s survive - they don't remember the shit that predominated as time has filtered it out. That said games have changed, and may have lost something in that, but have gained other stuff too. The high production costs of modern console games may mean less games, and less risks, but there's handhelds and flash games for low-cost higher risk output, it's not like it's disappeared for good.
I hate that boss after this stage, if you made a mistake, he will have the advantage and wipe your party out-- if you don't go into behemoth...

I can't believe they left this off the OST. It really was the best track in the game.

@unassumption Ah, very smart comment. I have to say, I didn't really consider flash games/ downloadable games in that light until now. Interesting!
