to mcrnita, it's because music like this is a "higher" form of entertainment. It takes more concentration to listen and enjoy something like this, rather than the easy "natural" thing that comes with most common music these days. Personally, I find music like this so much better, because of the quality and the skill involved.

See to answer your question most musicians want to just play. Not do it for money. Money is a nice bonus but playing the music is why they are there to begin with. People like him just play because its what he loves. Money isn't the only thing for "happiness" The joy of playing piano or any instrument outweighs money any day.
