  • How are you doing Hun? Hoping and praying that all is well -3

  • Thanks for the tutorial, I will definitely be trying this. I am just discovering the amazing benefits of bentonite and am so excited!!! :)

  • whats the name of this song thats playing ?

  • can you use this on transitioning hair?? I washed my hair the other day and my roots were dry... my hair has to be trained and i really didnt know what i could use to get my roots soft.

  • @sitakishida No, I think she's either really ill or died.

  • Your hair is lovely.

  • amazing<3 check out myvideos im 14 but i love hair videos makeup , clothing and such

  • You said dont use a mental spoon but isnt that a mental bowl. what the difference?

  • Do you wash your hair first? Also i tend to see a white residue post clay treatment is that to be expected

  • @nosillaq No, you don't have to wash your hair first because the clay does the work for you. She says rinse with cool water, but to COMPLETELY dissolve the clay and reduce the chances of residue, rinse with WARM water--preferably IN THE SHOWER so that the downward motion of the water can remove the clay. You SHOULD NOT have any residue as long as you rinse well.

  • Beautiful hair. You can get Aztec Secret and all of the ingredients at iherb dot com (Bragg brand organic vinegar is great). Code COT477 will save you $5.

  • I dont get it whats the point of this, is it something like a deep conditioning process?

  • @TheEbonyDiaries It's a deep CLEANSING process (though it's applied in the same manner as a deep conditioner). The clay pulls excess oils and buildup from the hair and cleans your scalp.

  • @LadyMika42 Oh okay, thanks! :D

  • I'm mad at how easily it spread!! I just did a mix last night & spent nearly an hour trying to wash all the gunk balls out of my hair =[. For some reason it wouldn't mix right. I used a concoction I read online; bentonite clay, coconut milk, apple cider vinegar, honey, and olive oil. Yeah it clumped BAD at the bottom & I thoroughly mixed it for 10 minutes. I thought maybe after I worked it through my hair with some friction it might spread easier WRONG! Only using vinegar and aloe next time <3

  • Wishing you a speedy recovery!! You are truly an asset to the natural hair community!! I want to say thank you..my hair and knowledge of healthy hair has improved 10 fold because of your generosity and limitless knowledge of natural hair. God bless you!!

  • I have to try this! I have been hearing about it so much! Thank you for this!

  • I really like that you used a pottery bowl and bamboo spoon. It was so much more visually appealing than plastic and stainless steel.

  • Looks amazing :)

  • wow you favor garcelle beauvais

  • FAB reuslts. I must try this treatment. Thanks for the tutorial!

  • @MopTopMaven can I add Hibiscus Powder and Marshmallow Root Powder to this mix as well?

  • Great video thank you for sharing. I love this clay and I use it on my hair, face and feet

  • love the song, what is it?

  • Sorry if you have answered this before. Does this mean you do not do a weekly shampoo?

Also I am new to natural hair and from what I have been reading (for example a blog post from a chemist) acv will close the hair shaft but does not have clarifying properties. Have you found acv to actually remove buildup?

  • i love bentonite clay! i use it to de-tangle my hair! it is awesome!

  • how much was the clay powder ?

  • @chocochichotspice You can check on amazon.com or vitamin shoppe its under 11.00 bucks

  • i have a concern. I always thought Bentonite clay was used for facial masks. Is there a bentonite clay specifically structured for hair or can you use apply Bentonite clay, used for your face, to your hair?

  • @BelTriniCurls Yes you can use the clay for your hair and face. It really works wonders on your face when you use it with ACV.

  • girl you really know how to treat yourself right ;)

  • This replaces the shampoo, but you still should deep condition afterwards?

  • Love this! I use this very same brand on my skin for a mask/facial and have never once considered it for a hair mask..Amazing results. I have locs and don't know how easy this would be to rinse out, but maybe...By the way, the music is nice....:)

    Officially a new subbie today!

  • Hair looked delicious.;) thanks again!!! Wow!;)

  • Thanks so much for this video!!! Love it!! I was told by my other cultured friends my 3c h

  • “Very disappointed to see this article about Whole Foods quality standards”

  • hey did you know that solange knowles mentioned you on twitter?!

    :)

she asked where the natural hair gurus were in LA on Nov. 16th..

  • DO you have to condition your hair afterward?.. because I never do.

  • Hi Moptop, I also follow your blog, love! How much breakage do you experience when you are doing your hair? Would you say a little to none at all? I'm trying to determine how much is too much. I just think when dealing with natural hair breakage is almost a guarantee, I'm trying everything to stop it. Thanks in advance!

  • Hi..is this treatment similar to protein treatment? I never use clay in my hair before.

  • I love that painting in the back! Who did it?

  • I wonder what would happen if I juiced organic apples and added those to the bentonite clay?

  • ITA...Your hair is lovely!!! Do you use Bentonite clay prior to using the Henna Treatment?

  • Can someone tell me what the clay costs?

  • @naturalwhisper I purchased it about a month ago from Whole Foods for like less than 10 bucks

  • Although I do love this video and will now go out any purchase everything i need to do this on my hair, I am now interested in what the name of the song is. Please share!!

  • I love your videos!! I have been transitioning since Jul-2010 and your healthy natural hair just gives me encouragement :^)

  • How different is this from henna? And I wonder why she used the vinegar, she didn't note color changes?? Or was the vinegar for clarifying.

  • @kymelle vinegar makes the hair cuticle lay down flat

  • @localnorganic oooohhh, thanks

  • @kymelle.... just to let you know that clay is for your skin, acne, healing clays...you mix with vinegar as a poltice for aches and pains and strains to draw out the soreness!!!! Never hear of putting this in your hair. Better to research before putting anything in your hair in my opinion...Oh Well if it works more power to ya...God Bless!

  • Awesome results

  • what does the clay do to the hair?

  • J'adore tes vidéos. I'm a big fan of your video's. Your Hair is Just AMAZING!!!! I love it. ( sorry for my english i'm french And french don't speak And write very well english LOL) kiss

  • Hi MopTopMaven, I just love your Vlogs and when I grow up I want 2b just like you girl!!!!!! Your hair and you are gorgeous!!!!!!!!

  • First off just had to let you know that you are officially my new favorite youtuber/blogger!

Quick question: Do you apply the bentonite clay to your scalp also or just the length of your hair? I couldn't tell from the vid...TIA

  • @MsEveMarie Thank you very much!! I appreciate the support a ton! I apply it to my scalp as well. I am a little more thorough when I am actually in front of a mirror..lol - Because I use this instead of a regular clarifying shampoo, it is imperative that I apply it to the scalp so that the clay can soak up the toxins, oils, and buildup.

  • @evyb I'm not sure the exact PH balance; however Apple Cider Vinegar has a PH level that is similar to the Ph level of the body as well as the PH balance of the hair making a suitable, safe, yet effective means of clarifying. - I use this method in lieu of a clarifying shampoo once a month because this is more of a natural, healthy alternative. The Acetic acid in the apple cider vinegar removes dead skin cells, excess sebum, product buildup, while strengthening the hair shaft.

  • Im curious as to what the pH of this mixture is...yes...I am a Kimmay tube follower

  • @get2joy

    me too

ph is probably too high because she uses a lot of apple cider...

  • @get2joy Check out my reply to @evyb to about the PH of that mix. - I don't test the PH balance of commercial products either. Most moisturizing shampoo's and conditioners are formulated to restore the optimal PH balance of hair. The only exception is Clarifying shampoo's which are generally higher on the PH scale because of the surfactants used to strip the hair of buildup, oils, and dead skin cells. In that case I always suggest following up with a moisturizing poo to restore normal PH levels

  • I love the painting..who is by.. thanks

  • Have you recently cut your hair?

  • @adore1908 I did! I cut bangs back in June, I did a blogpost about it.

  • Wow this made your hair look great! Worth the mess, it seems. : )

  • @Godsflame1 Thank you! It is definitely worth the mess! lolll

  • Please be careful with inhaling the clay it is a respiratory irritant. I was really concerned when I saw the dust flying everywhere.

  • @sweeteababy0427 I will! Thank you for the warning; I have asthma and that is good to know :-)

  • Thanks for this awesome video! Your beauty care info is the BEST!! :)

  • @lastshallb1 Thank you very much!!

  • I love this music!! Who is it by?

  • @kristenjdec The music is by CDK , the name of the song is Midnight Theme. I will post a link inside of the video description if you want to download the song for free :-)

  • ok i have a question about the betonite clay, I watch all types of videos including yours.. I saw a vid on bentonie clay treatments hopefully ..if it doesnt pull up the vid is called " how to make anti acne deep cleansing facial mask. under the lists of questions someone asks this i heard that unscented cat litter can be used as Bentonite! is that true? :).. the reply was yes..do you think its safe to use unscented cat liter as benotite clay masks ect..??? I'm a little skeevish about it.

  • @skygodess003 I know you meant this for moptopmaven, but i hope you don't mind me answering. Cat litter has bentonite clay in it; its one of the main ingredients to soak up the waste and reduce smell. It also has other things mixed in which may be an irritant to the skin. That's why it's better to simply buy the clay. Its not expensive at all.

  • @jolieinsc17 Agreed!

  • @skygodess003 I definitely wouldn't; as another commenter mentioned before, some cat litter contains other ingredients aside from just bentonite clay. To be on the safe side, I would purchase regular bentonite clay.

  • since it looks like your curl pattern is already defined, can you tell if the mask enhanced your curl pattern? and does it kind of loosen the curl pattern also?

  • @TashurRaquel Honestly, I have a hard time defining my curl pattern! This is actually pretty defined compared to how my hair reacts with other products.

  • What is the name of the track in the background?

  • @star83 It's called Midnight Theme by CDK

  • Can you use this on relaxed hair?

  • @2oHot4Pink It is definitely safe to use on relaxed hair. It's also great because it doesn't leave your hair feeling hard or stripped like clarifying shampoo's tend to do.

  • hmmm.. nice i tried the indian clay with marshmellow root that works good to...i even put it in my hair with my henna treatments.... have you put it on your skin ...places like back ect...?

  • @skygodess003 She uses this in her facial mask. Check out her skin care vid.

  • @MsChanteJ72 Thank you!

  • Will this work just as well mixed with water?

  • I like the idea of adding aloe vera gel to the mix. Have you thought about adding the juice as well? Also have you ever added oils to your hair before hand to help with dryness?

  • @Uniquelise3 I use the juice + gel when I have it on hand - I have never added oils, but may experiment with it in the future to see how it works on my hair!

  • i used to do these and i dont know why i stopped. my hair loved it. i like your recipe alot.

  • @SoulGlo1982 Thank you!

  • I definitely want to try this. All I need to do now is find a store that sells it. Thanks!

  • @ardeller You're welcome!

  • very cool. quick question tho, did you have to cover your hair while letting the clay sit on your hair? on did you let it sit uncovered?

  • @Nitra813 Nope! I didn't cover it at all.

  • I use this clay on my face weekly. Never tried it on my hair. Will have to give that a try.

  • @LekiaLPTBeauty This works wonders on your skin as well as hair! Definitely give it a shot :-)

  • thanks for sharing!

  • @suzieqshair You're welcome!

  • your hair is always so beautiful!!!

  • @iluvsoca28 Thank you!

  • i saw that local store same brand and i was like what is this? so i might go back and get this. do you use this before or after you shampoo?

  • @Prettybrown107 I use this instead of shampooing :-)

  • I'll have to hit up whole foods really soon

  • @bellabombTV Definitely give it a try!

  • i have had this clay forever.. I use it on my face... with water...Maybe i will use it on my hair

  • @MyHairFetish Definitely give it a try and see how it works for you :-)

  • @MyHairFetish what does it do for your skin?

  • @MzZophia So im doing a copy and paste to answer your question ...

Bentonite clay can also be used externally on skin for curing acne and skin rashes. It also helps in soothing muscle damage, carpel tunnel, bruises, cuts and wounds. Other skin ailments like eczema, psoriasis, bacterial and fungal infections can also be addressed, by applying a bentonite clay pack to the affected area of the skin.

  • @MyHairFetish Oh wow! That sounds great! I think I'll go purchase some now! Thanks for replying! =]

  • first!
