  • first god made light, then he made earth, then he made the plants, the animals, humans, etc, then he made jimi hendrix, and jimi made the guitar

  • Check out another video of this Hendrix tribute by searching Foxey Lady by Kelvin Dyson & Axis / A Jimi Hendrix Tribute . It's an awesome cover.

  • woodstock and jimi, big bits of history.rip xx

  • at 5:25 he played with his mouth!!!!!

  • Is this the guy from Police Academy ?

  • НЕ Джимми Хендрикс, но неплохо.

  • A kurva anyád hamis világ!

  • wait, who is that..

lets see how many people call me a retard

  • @ThePurdue Kelven Dyson of AXiS

  • @ThePurdue thats jimi bro :)

  • so only way to get that sound is to play right handed guitar backwards?

  • @Nojoke88 I contacted the guitarist - this is what he uses: - VOX Wah-Wah Pedal, Marshall JCM 2000, Dallas Fuzz Face and Uni Vibe...there you go!!!

  • @TheWindyCity yea but clearly he playen his guitar backwards...doesnt that have anything to do with the sound?

  • @Nojoke88 - He just flips it and restrings it. The other thing that he does, that Jimi did, was remove the pickup cover on the back of the guitar for feedback, and that might also give it a unique sound. But it's really all the stuff mentioned above that he's running the signal through.

  • @TheWindyCity alright thnx a lot for the help man =)

  • @TheWindyCity true true but Slash did actually do a cover of this using an Les Paul :S so it's mainly the wah wah and skill..

  • @Nojoke88 To answer your question yes it does, and there are many more variables taht effect it. I actually build my own backwards lefty. Check out my video and tell me what you think.

  • GOLDFINGERS!

  • that acid bandanna haha

  • wow that must feel good :P

  • the left-handed fender turned upside-down !!!

  • **Ride On**

  • woah lolz i thought it was Jimi.. but then i realized it wasn't :L...

  • I can't believe (and this IS trivial I'll grant you.. but) how many people get the name of this song wrong. It's Voodo Chile... not Child. Happens the whole time. In the scheme of all things though... worse things to worry about. :o)

  • @JakeAnnetts Actually, you're wrong on that one. If you go to the Hendrix website you'll see it is Voodoo Child, as well as on the album jacket of the 1969 Woodstock vinyl.

  • @TheWindyCity I think we are both wrong. I've checked on various albums etc... some say Voodoo Chile, some say Voodoo Child. I guess only the man himself would know. After all, he's been marketed way after his death. It'd be easy to get the name wrong. Like the original 'Electric Ladyland' was accidentally called 'Electric Land Lady' by some guy in the studio. Fact. ha ha

  • @JakeAnnetts It was catalogued as "Voodoo Chile" (Track 2095 001), and that is the title which appears on the single and is the title referred to officially. This obviously confuses it with the 15-minute song "Voodoo Chile" also on Electric Ladyland.

  • @JakeAnnetts dude its okay, at least they didn't spell Hendrix's name JIMMY. That pisses me off -.-

  • @JakeAnnetts actually Voodoo Chile is a 15 minute blues jam. Look that up, this is Voodoo Child.

  • It seriously took me half way threw the video to realize this isnt hendrix, he looks just like him

  • Sure, he looks good as that !!! and he did the best He could!!! i think :He was really good on this

  • 438 people dont know this isnt Hendrix

  • How do you get that sound he makes? Is it a wa pedal?

  • @nastynash96 Yes, he uses a Wah, among ohers as well

  • @nastynash96 For this song he uses a Wah-Wah pedal (usually Cry baby) and a Fuzz pedal

  • @nastynash96 I contacted the guitarist - this is what he uses: - VOX Wah-Wah Pedal, Marshall JCM 2000, Dallas Fuzz Face and Uni Vibe...there you go!!!

  • @nastynash96 he is bending the string.. i think

  • @nastynash96 WAH effect on the pedal.

  • shut up and listen to the jam ,

  • Jimi ''!! Still the best...""!! Uniques mood...feel..my favrte guitar player ever..:..''!!!

  • World no 1 guitar player...my favrte player ever..""!!

  • Not bad but Jimi was running on high octane, this is ethenol at best!

  • jimi said before he died i want people to play and do whatever they want to my music...im sure he would love this guys

  • Being born in the mid 80s, this is the closest I'll ever get to feel what it was like to see Hendrix tear a stage up.. and I thank Axis for that!!!

  • don't know if anyone noticed but this dude is a right hander and has stringed a left handed guitar upside down, the opposite of what hendrix did.. nice touch i think. dudes good, and they say immitation is the highest form of flattery. or sum shit like that. they're good.

  • guitar for left-handers?

  • tributes are kind of stupid. cover a few songs of your idol maybe, but performing as your idol - is that really satisfactory? i would hate it to act as mick jagger or paul mccartney professional, even if i would get lots of money for that

  • @Middlesexful Funny you mentioned the other two. Chicago has two other tributes...a Stones one- Hot Rocks, and a Beatles one - American English. The guy who does Mick Jagger puts on a great show - has the look, the choppers, and the strut! Gotta have the strut! In the Beatles trib., McCartney also has the look, the pipes, and Epiphone bass. This all adds to the fun aspect of the show, but none of these guys, nor the audience takes it so seriously as to be offended for impersonating a great.

  • @TheWindyCity i guess it mean's something different to everyone but i think it's kind of stupid like elvis impersonators but they are paying tribute so who am i to question it is what it is

  • @Middlesexful "wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are" -kurt cobain (one of my idols)

  • @Middlesexful I don't get it either.

  • legeds never die..!!!!

  • FUCK look at this..he is the best guitarplay :D

    wuhu

  • he play with right hand..lol..is not jimi, ..jimo maybe..but its cool...

  • This is great!!! Is this band still playing together? I would love to see them. Peace to everyone!!

  • @Ronnie631000 they still do. They were in muncie indiana playing in october. Man This dude is one great guy. very nice, and fucking awesome at playing live!

  • SALVE BRASIL , POSITIVE VIBRATION !

  • The Spiriti is ALIVE! keep it !!

  • 62 people are idiots.. How can you dislike this?

  • Jimi Hendix was amazing. Way ahead of his time.

  • THIS GUY IS A FCKIN DAMM GOD!!!

  • So many people talking nonsense here...This is a tribute band, just trying to make Jimi's sound live on. And they do that pretty good IMHO...I personally enjoyed their performance and their effort is really worth praising. Keep it up, boys!

  • I respect what this is trying to do, but I don't think I will ever understand the tribute acts with people who get dressed up and play pretend.

I mean, this guy is obviously a great guitarist, but is the dressing up really necessary? Just come out and rock the place as yourself, man.

  • @johnnyblingblong Personally, I think it add to the whole idea of why people go to see tribute bands - to get a complete picture of what it was like to see the artists back in their day. I've seen Beatle tributes that dress in the three eras of their music, Led Zeppelin tributes, and a Janis Joplin tribute. I think it's great when they add this aspect to their show. It's not regarded as playing pretend.

  • @johnnyblingblong i honostly dont understand tribute bands myself..we already had jimi hendrix..now we need a YOU or HER or WHATEVER

  • He did a great job!

Looks a lot like Jimi and he's playing nice too! ;)

  • This guy is good..but he sure isnt "trippin on acid" good

  • He maybe a righty guitarist but hes using a left guitar... just like how jimi did with his guitar it was a righty guitar but he played lefty. Jimi is the greatest guitarist and this guy is very good , he puts on a good show i wouldve liked to see that.

  • PERFECT !

    UNBELIEVABLE !!!

  • he kinda looks like shane mosley

  • Wow!!

  • I like this guy. haha(:

  • For a sec I thought that was Wayne Brady

  • Wow, he not only has the riffs down pat, he's got the whole Hendrix sway and gaping mouth open at the right places. If they ever make a movie about Hendrix, this guy's got the role! Looks almost like a twin bro.

  • espera, jimmi hendirx no era zurdo???? o.o?

expected, Jimi Hendrix was left-handed?? dont? o.o?

  • @isret100 this is not jimi.

  • he is a god... you cant compare him with slash ///slash is just a cheap copy...

  • Rock on brotha!

  • amazing version of voodoo child:

    /watch?v=Zfl0X2FGB9s

    by Divididos - Argentina

  • Good job but just pointing out that ur playing too fast to feel the music. slow down. Smoke a joint and feel the music and u cud be half as good as Jimi himself. Not saying ur bad.

  • 50 ppl dnt know wat good music is!!

  • Legend !

  • jimi would have loved this,i'm sure he is smiling if he saw this

  • he's nervous and technical... no.

  • @YouGotSubbed - I think he looks like he's just havin' fun with it.

  • @TheWindyCity fantastique

  • @YouGotSubbed Its called playing live :L

  • I would sure like to see this tribute. They do an excellent job. Rock On!!!

  • HE NAILED IT VERY GOOD

  • Now this is how to shred a guitar...... Foook me the guy even mentions "Les Paul".... playing a fender. True guitar tallents.

  • Lol wtf, I was thinking the quality of the video seemed a bit too clean to be from the 60s then I noticed the word "tribute" XD

  • dood looks like wayne brady hahahaha, but he rips it! who"s 2 say jimi hendrix would be proud? he might be pissed but hey u never kno... jimi hendrix is a god.... nuff said

  • earth wind and fire

  • the best very best cover band............incredible Tank you

    JIMI HENDRIX FOREVER

    BEST OF THE BEST

  • well the whole hendrix imitation sure is a bit cheesy, but man, that guy can play the guitar!

  • MOLTO BRAVO...MA NON è JIMI!!!!

  • Check out Seattle's Randy Hanson and the Machingun Revue.

  • @hork111 Didn't think he was still around! Saw him three times here in Chicago in the late 70s and never heard from him again. I really felt like I saw a reincarnated Hendrix back then - he was that good. He did a full blown costume act with a wig and face paint. At his third show, he pulled off his wig and all this blonde hair fell out - just stunned everyone because they (we) really thought he was black! He then played a few of his original songs, which were pretty good jams as I recall.

  • @TheWindyCity I don't know if he's still around either, but YouTube is full of his videos. Forget Trower and SRV, I always thought Randy Hanson and Frank Marino of Mahogany Rush were the best at the Hendrixian sound. As you mentioned, Hanson was a spectacular showman, just like Jimi was. Nice anecdotes.

  • 35 people cant hold a D chord...

  • I bet that all of these guys who posted negative comments don't even know how to hold a guitar :)

Respectable playing, you certainly have the hendrix groove :D

  • dude, youre good, but youre not hendrix

  • Ummm.... Jimi played guitar left-handed. You'd think that would have been one of the first things to consider when starting a tribute band. Fail.

  • @shignizzle ummm...may it's about the music?

  • @shignizzle Really man? I mean, really? Split hairs a little more why don't you. Tthe music is great...what else matters?

  • Of course you can not accurately copy Jimi Hendrix, but this is actually scaringly close. It's easy to get upset about something like this, but on the other hand people still play Bach as well and try to do it as accurately as possible. The problem - or perhaps the advantage - is that we have no way of knowing for sure how Bach sounded in his own time. Besides, I've been suspecting for quite a while now that Hendrix was a re-incarnation of Bach, but again that's a bit besides the point here.

  • Don't be cruel he doesn't rip too badly, its just that he is not "The Man" ! There was only one Jimi.....

  • jimi looks down on you a proud guy :)

  • Like this guy ;) He is okay.

  • God !

  • Almost the same jacket, a white guitar, the same background but this is not Jimi. After all he was left-handed!

  • we all know he is not jimi hendrix ok. that doesnt mean that we have to pick out everything he does that jimi doesnt do. its just for fun.

  • wish id been there *sniff* im only 12 and i love all this music! i hate all this modern crap. check out my band. were no Hendrix Experiance but we try!!

  • K so its not great, but not everybody is jimi Hendrix , so i give it a thumbs up for them trying:)

  • bunch of retards. jimi played left handed. this dude who doesnt even look like him is playing right handed

  • this video has been like reversed. jimi is playing right handed instead of left!

  • kinda gave me the chills :) good job

  • this Dude' pretty good!!!!!! he's the best copy cat!! so fare ' he's got ball's!!!

  • lol

  • For God sake, stop saying nobody can play as Jimi and shit like that, I know no person can do like he did, but that doesn't mean he's the only one allowed to play the song. And remember this is a COVER band, not Jimi himself, so don't expect to listen exactly what you listen when Jimi play. These guys did well.

  • Even in death you are unstoppable, moving even the darkest of hearts. Jimi, we miss you sorely and it's a shame you had to go. Wherever you are, I look forward to the day I can see you again. RIP, God of Rock--Jimi Hendrix.

  • definitely not jimi but pritty damn good thou, nice tribute

  • why would anyone hate on this? Can YOU play this better? Probably not so go take some lessons and pray to whatever god that you may someday with years of practice, do what this man and his band are doing VERY GOOD! I can only hope heaven is real so I can jam with Jimi when I get there! PEACE!!!

  • 21 people are just jealous.

  • yeah sure this guy isn't jimi, but he is still freakin' awesome and probably more talented than all these naysayers. this is a tribute band. i think jimi would be proud.

  • @deteck84 AMEN!

  • @deteck84 jimi hendrix lives on in every body who listens to his music, and jams to it if you can play. or try to lol

  • @deteck84 Jimi is left handed and this guy clearly isnt.

  • @deteck84 They definitely got the guitar and effects nailed down perfectly.

  • why would you even try to cover this version of this song...NOTHING can compare to it

  • @buccaneers52 Because the crowds just LOVE it! People go crazy when they start jammin' out Voodoo Child. Yeah, it's just a cover band, butstill fun to hear live.

  • nothing is like the original.

  • its funny how many people live trough others and beleive they are others and they do it without drugs. what is happening to this world

  • dude were did you get that shirt i want one so bad!

  • 4:28 What an epic bend...

  • This guy is real good player haters be damned.

  • Instead of being a tribute band, maybe you should make your own unique band with your own style?

    Love Jimi Hendrix though.

  • i get high when i listen to this...or anything else by jimi. There'll be noone else like him

  • Pretty amazing

  • Reading some of these comments makes me think of something that Jimi told a so-called fan, when the "fan" complained about not sounding like the record at home, and Jimi said "well you should have stayed home an just listen to a record a ?

  • Nice and thank you for honoring Jimi, I think that he would also dig it. What is your philosophy on life, that's what made Jimi very special in my eyes.

  • great cover band, but do you think you can label it with a different wording. all i want is to watch JIMI at woodstock do voodoo child, but this damn video is in it's place. WTF!!!??

  • I noticed he did'nt really bend any strings, are they too stiff or somethin?

  • too fast at first

  • Everyone shut up ofcourse hes not as good as jimi no one was...But this is a tribute so respect it

  • ich find es geil das es solche Aufnahmen noch gibt:)

  • jimi wouldnt have to keep looking at hes guitar half way through hes lyrics to make sure hes on the right chord

  • @jackyboy233 Right. This is a tribute band, not a clone of Jimi

  • how he does that "squeal" in the end? can someone tell me?

  • @GrPaoOle Sheer volume...

  • NOT QUITE HENDRIX BUT VERY NICE : A PLUS

  • What does "best" mean? This is music.

  • Pretty mediocre. I really hate when people do things like this. As much as I hate modern bands and "artists" like the Biebs, this might even be worse. Why try to be a substitute to someone as amazing as Hendrix.

Not that it is a BAD performance by any means anyway. If people want to waste their time with this then hey, they are free to do what they want.

  • It's funny he has a left-handed guitar when he's right-handed, just as opposite as jimi

  • muit bom video !! mesmo sendo uma pessoa q acha q é o jimi hendrix sendo q odeio quem se acha o tal !! mas pra um cover é muito bom !

  • Dudes, this man is paying tribute to a legend... go easy, will ya? He's honoring the music AND the man, which is worthy of the effort. Besides, Jimi himself inspired such guitarists to pick up the instrument as even Jimi himself would be in awe of today: Eric Johnson, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani, SRV (R.I.P.), etc. So take it for what it's worth and enjoy...

  • its a nice way to honour Thé Jimi Hendrix. the "i want to see jimi hendrix once" wish for those who were not from his generation can be real now

  • more wah!!!! but it was.... ok. if i was there, i'd have had fun and that's what matters.

  • Overall he's not all that bad but he needs some constructive criticism. PLAY WITH MORE SOUL! OMG, he's a brother but he moves and plays like a whitey. Also, SLOW DOWN! Voodoo chile is not supposed to be played at that tempo. It should have A LOT more groove and feel to it. He should spend some time playing some motown and learn how to feel and play with soul and groove. People forget about the fact that Jimi had a strong R&B background (he played with the Isley Brothers for a time).

  • @GTX1123 "play with more soul" is the least constructive criticism you can give anyone, you don't that person maybe he's serious as hell in real life, maybe you don't know, but the point being is that a song is not defined by the feeling, if he got good enough to play hendrix it means he has alot of feeling, if he plays it faster it means he has more skill, By all means i think he is a bit more skilled than hendrix, give credit were it's due my friend. dont just blindly judge him with no info.

  • @Emceetem i cant believe you just said that! more skill than the man jimi! you should really really take that back, think about it and turn it around! and then you shall be forgiven!

  • @Emceetem more skilled naaaaaaaaaa i dont think so!

  • a hate the head on that guitar

  • "i hate people who think they can play as jimi" ??? chill out man! he dont think, he just play.

  • i hate people who think they can play as jimi, do as jimi, this is a shame.

    jimi Hendrix always the best!

  • @jaccovanderwardt --- I agree, Jimi is always the best, but you don't have to hate this guy. I personally really enjoyed this recreation of Woodstock, and so did the 40,000 or so around us at this event. The band had fun with it and so did we. It was crazy. Check out the crowd at the end of this video of Hey Joe: (search Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe - 1969 Woodstock 40th Anniversary concert by tribute band AXiS

  • @TheWindyCity oke you're right i changed my mind, but there are so many people who think the're jimi.
