This is brilliant! Very creative, with a touch of humor... yet still professional. I had to click on every link just to see what was next. That's what it's all about. If you can get your crowd to do that...then you've won.
Legendary Graeme. Having been in recruitment for many years (both agency and in-house) its so refreshing to see something this new and innovative. The bar's been raised to anyone wanting to put a CVIV together. Would you mind - I'd love to embed your video into my recruitment themed blog as the benchmark for anyone thinking about putting one of these together? I would say good luck with your future career but somehow I don't think you'll need it. Cheers, Ben @TRecKnowledgy
@TRecKnowledgy Hi Ben. Thanks for your kind words. Please feel free to use the videos however you see fit. They're here to inspire others so I'd appreciate that. Cheers, Graeme.
WTF!!!!!!!!!! YOUR CVIV IS SO INCREDIBLE!!!!!! I LIKE THE WAY IN WHAT U SAID ALL AND WITHOUT SO MUCH TIME AND SO FACTIBLE TO SHOW UR TALENTS! IF I NEED U OF COURSE I'LL CONTACT TO U! CONGRATS!
What is the rag on hotmail? Have you ever tried it? It's quite snazzy! First, it opens WAAAAY faster than yahoo mail. Second, it integrates easily with all your other main office documents. And finally, for attaching word documents, they come through clean.
Gmail turned my word resume into this...ha&*wOrk^eD@&#...literally! I had my resume nicely formatted, and as an attachment it opens up in Google Docs and bUtChErS the whole thing...no wonder I haven't heard from potential employers!!!
@MsLizaMB Hi Liza, it's actually very easy using YouTube Annotations. I can send you the link but you should find it easily if you Google it. Hope that helps...
Impressed with the innovative use of current techonology! How often do you update your CVIV? Is it possible without having to reshoot the whole thing?
Also, if you don't mind revealing the details, how long did it take to produce this and what costs were involved?
@AlexReborn007 Hi Alex, not a problem at all. This CV is a one-off, I couldn't update what's already been uploaded which I suppose is a limitation. I'd want to try something new next time anyway...it's part of the fun.
The video was literally created, scripted, recorded and edited within 24 hours and it cost absolutely nothing. However, I did have a friend help me with the recording which would have cost money if I didn't have his resources available. Adding the professional touch was important
This is very innovative and original, not to mention impressive and eye catching. It is an excellent example to those who are looking to get noticed in an increasingly competitive jobs market.
This video is currently circulating around the Government of British Columbia (in Canada) as an example of creativity and how social media can change how we do business. If you haven't landed a job by now, perhaps you could go into business by 'branding' yourself and helping others market themselves as successfully as you have. Create your own company! You obviously have great initiative and talent.
Man, you are genious, if a recruiter doesn't offer you a great job after watching this is because he is not cualified to to do his own job. I'm not going to say good luck because you dont need it, all you need is just patience because you are in the road to success.
What's all this crap about email addresses? Sir, you are a legend, you could put up a carrier pigeon provider and people would get in touch. In fact, please do that! I wish you the very best of luck with your job hunt and hope your vid goes viral.
@don5nake: exactly! one small detail and it gets all the attention in the comments section! I agree... this is the best portfolio video I've ever seen.... I work in the comm dept of a public agency and have sent this video around to point out to my colleagues that an old fashioned CV is no longer enough these days. Best of luck in finding a job!
I would hire you for initiative alone, excellent video. That said, why not get your own domain name and use that for email. The Hotmail address is a little cheesy these days for a professional and a domain gives you control over other things like website etc.
@ompemi Two or three people have mentioned the Hotmail account. What's the reasoning behind your comment? I did think about opening a new GMail address but my name was already registered by someone else. Thankfully I had registered 'graeme.anthony' on Hotmail many years ago and I believe that sounds much more professional than something like 'graeme.anthony1985'.
@GraemeAnthonyCVIV as a professional email account, I can't give you a specif reason but is preferable not to use Hotmail. The chain forward emails on hotmail made that this email provider lose credibility. I don't think you SHOULD have a gmail account, but maybe your own domain in Google Apps (contact@graeme.anthony.com) or a yahoo account is always better. That's my opinion, maybe the recruiters don't think so...
@ompemi I know plenty of recruiters who will happily hire some one regardless of who their email provider is. I think that's a stupid argument. Especially considering once you join a company you no longer use your own personal email any way. If his email address was fluffybum@hotmail.com I could understand your argument.
Nice CV any way mate. Hope you find the job you're looking for!
I can only see this being an issue when applying for IT positions.
Even then, hotmail doesn't have the same negative connotations as say AOL.
At the end of the day, you most likely have nothing to worry about in this regard. However, if you want the added reassurance, you could always register your own domain name.
the best CVIV i've seen so far. :)

I'm happy to use it in my seminars where I let attendees discover the strength of personal branding. This is one great way, that suits you very well.
Good luck!

Those email comments are nonsense - judging on a personal email domain is a bit strange.
