this is such a joke, the art world in nyc is a scam. can u imagine people who consider themselves intellectuals standing in front of black and white paper cut outs of cartoon characters, pretending to be "contemplating its meaning" Give me a brake. Someone glued string on a canvas and painted it white! brilliant! its only 40,000$ Mathew Weinstein is a selfish jew, who cant paint, all his "realism is painted by an poor talented polish kid who's barely surviving in new york. you all are idiots
I don't know, this just confirms what i always feel when i come to NY -- that there is nothing interesting ever going on in chelsea -- the crass commercialism kills it. aren't big (but not too big) abstract paintings over yet? i guess not as long as they're selling.
Thanks James. De Keyser's works made my day. Serenity, beauty, depth...What more could you ask from an artist? Those small paintings are so powerful on these huge walls. Also the Kara Walker piece at 3.50: fantastic. Ofili, wan and flat; Bradford, explosive and mouthwatering..

i like the direction Bradford has taken his work. He seems to have obscured the idea of map a bit more.
