Since I was already familiar with the Matchbox Penetration version of this effect, it failed to make an impression on me at Magic Live. Notwithstanding, both tricks do come across as more of a puzzle than something magical.

It seems to me that if you can do some card magic, put the cards in the box, and THEN grab a knife/needle/coin and penetrate the deck... that would be magic. Then let them verify that "it is indeed a solid deck" and reveal the metal block that way. NOW you're talking!

@robvh2 This routine would be relatively easy to accomplish and magical. The invitation to verify that "it really is a solid deck" bridges the effects, motivates the actions, and walks the spectators totally unsuspectingly toward the kicker! What do you think, Eric?

@robvh2 Good idea. After filming the trick i stumbled upon the Wizard Product review guys and one of them had a brilliant but of business with it. It made it that more magical. Only uses 1 card... You should check it out!!! I agree thats a solid routine man! :0)

@robvh2 that would be good looking, which is hard to transpose IF He opened the deck and pulled out 2 cards and had one one top and one on the bottom and pulled them out of the deck before penetration

effect . -that would give a good apearence that theres cards in the deck like the lucite block trick but I Give Eric Credit for doing the Camp deal the kids loved him and had a great time there and Vegas Eric you could see the reveal by the company that sells it you did good .

The same trick can be done with a match box and a needle with a reebon!
