  • If you thought in the past that republicans would agree to a decent bugdet one that would include tax cuts ( maybe you thaught this because as a baby you were dropped on your head) was ever an option well then guess again. And since the new healthcare law their side has become evermore entreched since they think everyone is an idiot and they think the could kill off healthcare by simple attrition and by not budgeting for it. This would make everyone who votes republican AN IDIOT.

  • @idicula1979 You're an idiot for assuming that everyone who votes Republican is concerned only with taxes, health care, and budget issues. You're an idiot for assuming that all Republicans are clones, running on identical platforms, holding identical values, and supporting identical legislation. You're an idiot for making the implication that all problems stem from the GOP.

Truth is, the vast majority of Congress is corrupt and incompetent - Democrats and Republicans.

  • Why have the Republicans allowed the Tea Party to take over the Republican Party and why have the Tea Party not formed a party of their own and stand as a third party??

  • All of these tax breaks to create jobs has worked, its just that therr jobs went to 50 cent a day jobs in mexico and china. Self-interest and the greed is good philosophy ruined the middle-class, made the rich richer and is therefore undemocratic and exploitive.

  • TheStrazy is exactly right. Dont let them con you. Its not about republicans vs the democatrats. Its about how to get our government to stop wasting billions in spending.

  • This is sorta funny and sad. Look up the term "lateral violence" The democrats and the republicans are the same thing, Spending money on their freinds while middle america suffers. Funny thing is people say "oh republicans are bad or democrats are evil" when they are both run by the same banks that are Robbing us blind. As for Ryans plan,it is another plan to rip us off same as anything the democrats have proposed just under a different guise to get stupid people to vote for them.

  • Cenk failed to mention that the 4.2 trillion in tax breaks will be made up for by borrowing more money from other countries like China.

The "cost" of tax breaks is the money the government has to borrow to make up for the lost tax revenue. That's why the debt increases!

  • The one good thing about Ryan's budget proposal is that it will put a lot of right wingers out of thier jobs and homes. They'll have to move in with the kids who won't have jobs either. Many will die from lack of proper affordable health care. I'm all for that.

  • @TheKmbt Many baggers are on the street today because they helped to elect bush. They wanted their miniscule tax cut and it cost them their job and their little pink house. Now republicans have the baggers conned into voting to end medicare and insurance reform in order to increase private insurance profits at Americas expense. The republican party is squeezing the middle class for everything they can get. Then they give subsidies and tax cuts to big oil and other multinational conglomerates.

  • RYAN THINKS THAT WORKING PEOPLE AND THE POOR HAVE TOO MUCH MONEY AND THE RICH HAVE TOO LITTLE!

  • Sounds like young Furks is more appropriate than Turks. They all must be under 25 and don't work for a living... just live off the folks, or the Government.

  • Republicans are out there for destroying the middle class and Obama is not going to do any thing until middle class goes on roads and protest like tea party, show your anger to Obama, other wise you are going to loose many things.

  • If nothing is proposed or done, the CBO report said, health care costs under the current system are set to create scenarios that are “difficult or impossible to sustain.”

  • Comment removed

  • Republicans: beyond hypocrisy, beneath contempt.

  • Cenk, I think you're wearing your tie too tight.

  • ~^^NEVER VOTE FOR A REPUBLICAN AGAIN! The PAUL RYAN BUDGET PLAN will DESTROY MEDICARE for those of us 54 years or younger. IMAGINE being an old man or woman and having to do BATTLE with a PRIVATE insurance company because the voucher you got is too little to afford coverage or you just can't get coverage for your illness! REPUBLICONS slipped this in their budget proposal with no DISCUSSIONS OR DEBATE! TELL YOUR STATE REPUBLICON$ YOU WILL NEVER VOTE FOR THEM AGAIN!

  • @poindexterwitkowsky You do realize that there is a medicare subside right?

  • @poindexterwitkowsky Let's crash Paul Ryans town hall meeting. Let's show this fucktard what pressure is really about.

  • @poindexterwitkowsky Which is great. Then we can actually invest the money instead of being forced to put money into that ponzi scheme.

I like the democrats counter to this though. It's nothing and then when you name Greece, it's nothing again.

  • @poindexterwitkowsky ... I never voted for them in the first place because I know what they do. And, if you know your history, most especially, pre-Great Depression Era, you would never have voted for them, either. This is what the Republican Party is all about, it always has been and always will be.

  • @poindexterwitkowsky

so you rather go with NO Medicare at all then do you ? because on the path it is right now,it will take up so much money that we can not (come up with) sustain it or are you one of those ppl that believe in Obama's Healthcare Law,while havent actualy read it and dont know whats in it? either way you must realize that there wont be any for you at all since it is already spend, besides why do you rely on someone else to take care of you,do it yourself is the better choice

  • @Hoschi0913 I think everyone agrees our entitlements need to be reformed. But cutting taxes so that we have even more devastating deficits so that we need to cut our entitlements even further is purely republican pandering to the wealthy. And didn't the GOP say healthcare reform was "killing grandma"? NOw they are proposing a plan that would according to the new york times, "end medicare as we know it". If they weren't such fucking hypocrites nobody would be bringing this up...

  • @durhamdf

when it comes to be a hypocrite, the dems aint better in it,i think we need to look at those entitlements (including medicare,ss medicate etc) from a view of efficiency, meaning does it has the effect originaly desinged for and perhaps put laws in place that prohibites any other as the intended use of the money recieved for,iam fully aware that it means the gov't has to spend way less as it does today, you can not spend more as you take in,who's paying off those $16.5Trillions? no one!!

  • all we do as for now is pay the interest on the dept we have, which is billions, besides those entitlements where designed in a whole different "environment" back then, like a car if you will,no one would go into one today that was made in 1940,with such a low standard on safety and such a high gas concumption, pretty much the same with entitlements, they sure as hell need an "update" to be effictive again, but no one wants to see it nor hear about it,which is bad ,cuz as is,they will drain us empty

  • @Hoschi0913 We obviously do, I don't think you could find a democratic congressman who thinks that entitlements don't need big time reforms. But when Obama tries to reform Medicare by cutting the failure of medicare part d the Republicans scream that he is killing grandma. Then A year and a half later the release te Ryan budget that basically ends medicare and replaces it with vouchers! And if Bush wasn't a complete retard and had taken a single economics class he would know that (contd)...

  • (contd)... mainstream (keynesian) economic theory dictates that you are supposed to exercise CONTRACTIONARY (raising taxes, cutting spending and paying off the debt) policy after a decade of unsustainable growth. Clinton could have done more, but he left Bush with a budget that would have produced a 300 billion dollar surplus in his first year. (contd)...

  • (contd)... If Bush hadn't decided to cut taxes and increase spending (expansionary policy) further inflating the bubbles and the dollar we would have been paying off our debt for the last decade. We also probably would have mitigated or avoided this recession which left us with no revenues and left Obama with a 1.2 Trillion dollar deficit when he came into office if Bush hadn't been economically dyslexic and exercised the exact opposite policy that was called for at the time.

  • @durhamdf

sounds all reasonable, but if and when doesnt help us now and i dont play the blame game, simple fact as is right now ,the gov't spends more than it takes in and mostly because of some new entitlements THEY came up with, which WE have to pay for, when you take 2.3billion each month in and spend 3.8billion in the same time.....you need to borrow,so simple solution (from me a simple men) stop spending more than you take in,if it means we have to get rid of some (new) entitlements...so be it

  • What's even worse is the fact that, even to get the "savings" that Paul Ryan talks about, he says that there is going to be 2.8% unemployment by the end of 2012. If 200,000 new jobs a month leads to 6% by 2015, how many jobs a month would it take to get to 2.8% in a year and a half? 1,000,000 a month. In the Clinton years, we averaged 250,000 a month, and that's the highest we've had, so does anyone really think this is a serious deficit-cutting proposal?

  • RepubliCONS refise to put

$168B Oil Welfare on the table

    $360B Health Ins Co Welfare

    $44B Natural Gas co's Welfare

    A Total of $572Billion

    RepubliCONS - RepBullCrapicans

  • It's interesting that corporations like to push their person status when it's convenient, and their non-person status when it's not. As a person, a corporation can become part of a political campaign and stuff the pockets of politicians. As a non-person, they are taxed completely differently.

I'm considering declaring myself a corporation...

  • keep 'em comin' Cenk!

  • I had 2 wealthy Aunts who each received a stack of Interest & Dividend checks each month & on top of that was their Social Security checks (which they didnt need)

So I've a better idea on Soc Sec -- rather than raise the age -- because some people do wear out earlier than others & desperately need their SS checks, let's mean test so that those getting over 20k per month are ineligible -- they wony miss it & we wont be penalizing the poor & middle class

  • Paul Ryan's plan will only make those making over $200,000 richer by making the poor & middle class live on less.

  • This should be seen everywhere. The GOP is only interested in damaging the middle class and below, while further feeding the wealthiest.

  • No, try the SOCIALIST SPENDOCRATS who just want more money to spend to support the lazy and stupid.

  • @revbookburn Yeah, thats why the US has one of the strongest middle classes in the world right? Try facts next time, not ignorant leftist rhetoric ok?

  • From 1941 to l969 the MAX TAX RATE ranged from 70% to 91%.

From 1970 to 1990 the MAX TAX RATE averaged artound 50%

Now the GOP wants to lower the MAX TAX RATE to 25% on the super-rich

The top 10% already owns 90% of fhe Financial Wealth of he nation.

What does 4the GOP want them to have? - 95%? 96?

  • Government spending is a component of GDP. Cut government spending and GDP shrinks. The rich park their money on the sidelines causing the economy to shrink. Need to raise taxes on the rich to get that money back into the economy.

  • The "CBO's numbers" he is sourcing are wrong o falsely used. The debt is 14.25 Trillion Dollars. GDP is 14.7 Trillion. That is a little more than 62%

  • Do away with the shelters, loopholes, and unequal rates that corporate America and the super wealthy thrive on and then we can talk about tightening my belt. I'm willing to do just that to save the country, just like most of America. Just want to make sure that everyone is along for the same ride.

I know the IRS will still want my check by the 15th. I ought to get the red carpet treatment since I am paying more than General Electric is.

  • @rocky19421 GE got tax credits from Obama for green energy they closed their light bulb plant in Virginia and now they make the mercury bulbs in Mexico. The one to blame or GE is Obama and the Dems. We have the highest effective corporate tax rate in the world over 40%. You ask why companies are leaving here? Europe's corporate rates average 25%, Ireland 12.5%.We also have one of the most progressive tax rates and the top 5% already pay 68% of all tax revenue. The bottom 50% pay only 2%

  • @rocky19421 If we are going to compete in a global economy and draw companies to the U.S. to create jobs we need to cut corporates in half. We don't have a revenue problem we have a spending problem. Clinton increased spending by 32% in 8 yrs, Bush increased spending by 83% in 8yrs and Obama has increased spending by 25% in two years with projections of 180% in 8 years. What have you gotten for all that spending? Most of it no one knows where it went. And you want to hand them more to waste?

  • Not to change the subject, but the "National Debt" is not 62% of the GDP, according to the CBO.

The CBO often uses the "Debt Held By The Public" (now about $9.6 trillion), but this doesn't include "Intergovernmental Holding" (mostly Social Security borrowing), now about $4.2 trillion.

The national debt is the sum of these two, which is why we expect to hit the national debt ceiling of $14.3 trillion in May. Our GDP is now about $14.9 trillion, so the national debt is about 93% of GDP.

  • @KARidge Right now each taxpayer owes $130,000 to the national debt. With the future unfunded liabilities of

SS and medicare we each owe $1.4 million. Can you afford for congress to keep spending? I challenge you to go to downsizing government and see where you money is wasted.

  • How about investigating how many people are on permanent SS disability for being over weight. Should'nt they just receive say SSI for 2 years to loose weight so they can get a job. How about families that get double welfare payments. How about Schip where 6 out of 10 children on the program have access or have other insurance yet qualify for the program so taxpayers are paying the price for 10 when only 4 really need it. Instead of making accusations why don't you do some real investigating.

  • Bottom line is spending under Obama's plan over the next ten years will increase by 55% and under Ryan's only 34%. We need to cut spending more then that but Ryan's plan is a start. I don't know where you guys get your stats but they are wrong or misleading. Also why don't you do some investigating on how many people on welfare and medicaid are perfectly healthy and educated to be able to hold a job but refuse to work? And while you at it investigate the fraud in that system that waste billions

  • Fairness GOP style. The GOP is going to divide the candy bar. They break the bar giving a small peice to the People and a very large peice to the wealthiest 1 per cent. That isn't fair the People said. Yes it is said the rich we'll show you. The rich took a big bite out of the large peice. Now the peice lett over is same as the piece held by the People. The GOP said now it looks like the People have to big of a piece. They took it and gave it to the rich. Fairness GOP style.

  • @666brainiac Very good comment. You make your point and you keep me entertained.

  • 9. Senate seats will be based on population, but still favor small states. Each state will get between 1-3 senators based on citizen population, this way small states are protected. However Wyoming is in NO WAY equal to California.

    10. Senators, Presidents or any office where there is only 1 position will elected by run off, which would require coalitions from minority parties in exchange for votes. Finally all positions are recallable, except the supreme court. My recipe for honest govt.

  • 5)cont. That means the NRA or Union must distribute ballots, and the agreed upon LOCAL results will be the message taken to the congressman/senator.

6)interest groups must disclose their membership numbers

7)House of rep seats will be determined by US citizen tally, not population.

8)House elections will be proportional elections, not first past the post. This means if the state has 20 congressmen, if the greens get 5% 1 seat. No more GERRYMANDERING.

  • If anyone is interested, I actually have an idea of how we can reform elections:

    1) require all candidacies to be publicly funded, including if the person is a millionaire.

    2) shorten federal elections. 1 month for the party elections, 1 month for the general election.

3). Elections are holidays, no shopping, no malls, nothing. Everyone will vote.

    4) Lobbying using money will be a felony

5)interest groups must have elections on their agenda, and follow the proposed course of action.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow Are you crazy?!? This would take our democracy back to it's original purpose, and cost the tax-payers literally thousands of dollars! Who would want to pay an extra one-one thousandth of one penny for free, corruption free elections backed by pork-free legislation? Madness I say, MADNESS!!!!

  • @Newenlightenmentnow Yea...........makes too much sense though. Would never happen because the corporations that control the elections and debates would never allow it.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow Right on love the changes if only they could be put inplace.

    Cheers Christine

  • @Newenlightenmentnow I especially like the part where lobbying becomes a felony. No fines, ONLY JAIL TIME.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow

    I would like to add...

    6) Candidates must wear Nascar type Suites with all their Lobbyists Logos attached.

    :P

  • @Joxman2k That's the funniest idea I've heard yet. I'd love to see that graphically displayed. Let's show John Boehner in a suite covered with marlboro emblems, health insurance providers. best idea ever

  • @Newenlightenmentnow

...and the suits could be flame retardant, for when they go into political debates, and press conferences :)

    :P

  • @Joxman2k Are you planning to attack one of them with a flame thrower as punishment for lying?

  • @Newenlightenmentnow

No. I was speaking more to the Internet Meme of flaming :) They hide behind their suits anyways, might as well be flame retardant too :)

    :P

  • @Joxman2k oh, too bad....I think my idea would be more fun. Note the high value I give to our current politicians.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow

Actually that would be pretty cool! It would be an Anti-vote :) the less people who stand in line to use a flamethrower on you the more popular you are :)

    :P

  • @Newenlightenmentnow nope. I'm sorry, your magical plan to fix socities problems with statism has failed, you don't get to fuck over the country again.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow 1. So if a member of the public is a millionaire, they can fund a candidate? That makes no sense, even the person being elected is a member of the public and its their right to endorse any candidate they want even if its themselves. 2. I agree with that actually, it would require people to become informed more quickly and leave less room for games. 3. I dont think we need to shut down buisnesses, but at least have the work days shorter than.

  • @GermanConquistador08 Yes that's my point exactly. I don't want someone like Bill Gates, even if he is benevolant, to be able to say, I'm running for president, and fund his campaign himself with his unlimited resources. I want all campaigns to be public and honest. Period.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow "I want all campaigns to be public and honest. Period." - Why cant people use their own money to fund elections? Thats their rights and just because they use large amounts of money, doesnt mean they will win because policies are still the most important thing in elections. Perfect example of a candidate with huge monitary person funding that wont win Donald Trump. "A legitimate group represents actual citizens" -As opposed to non-citizens? Even Corporate execs are citizens

  • @GermanConquistador08 No it isn't their right. You don't have the right to flood the airwaves and give yourself an unfair advantage. Elections should be about the issues, not who's loudest. Second, it may be so that CEOs are citizens, but they don't get to buy our fucking elections. Clearly you're a corporatist and a traitor. I have nothing more to say to scum like you.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow "You don't have the right to flood the airwaves and give yourself an unfair advantage" - Unfair advantage? THe people arent stupid. Theyre not going to vote for the loudist person and thats never been the case in US history, its always came down to issues. Also, why shouldnt corporations give money to the candidates who will help them the most? Afterall, envirnmental organizations give money to candidates who will help the envirment the most. Whats the difference?

  • @GermanConquistador08 Environmental groups represent large groups of citizens who don't want to drink mercury in their water. How about that for a start? Your argument is just a BS excuse to justify propaganda. Repeating lies over and over works, as it did in the past. The swiftboat verterans are proof of this. Anway, I'm done with your corporatism. I address the people? Give me a thumbs up if you think I'm correct! Obviously the people like my first idea, as the thumbs testifies.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow "Environmental groups represent large groups of citizens who don't want to drink mercury in their water" - Envirnmental groups regardless of their ends, use political means by which of course means legislation to meet their ends and are funded largely by bigger entities than themselves. The only difference between Greenpeace and Big Oil is what they want accomplished as far as legislation goes. If you can find any more I'd be glad to listen.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow "Repeating lies over and over works, as it did in the past" - Ok, dont say that I'm lying until you prove it, which you havent up until now. Dismissing the opposition by calling their arguments propaganda is a tactic of political cowards, dont be one. "Anway, I'm done with your corporatism." - Again, corporatism is the government controlling corporations NOT the other way around I dont know where you're getting this idea. And you have no thumbs up, just to point out.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow Also, happless people on youtube giving anonymous thumbs up isnt much of a way to prove that you are correct on the FACTS. You're an example of the rhetoric over facts left-wing representing the anti-conservative movement at the moment. " I WANT TO ELIMINATE MONEY FROM POLITICS" -Good than you can end union and envirnment lobbing as well as Big buisness and citizen action from campagin funding as well I'd expect? yes?

  • @GermanConquistador08 Finally, I WANT TO ELIMINATE MONEY FROM POLITICS! Is it too hard to get it through your thick skull that this is nothing more than legalized bribary. It must die. Thumbs up if you're with me people!

  • @Newenlightenmentnow "hard to get it through your thick skull that this is nothing more than legalized bribary" -Again, no one is bribing me. ALso think, who is going to pay anyone to sit around all day and make leaning youtube comments, no one does this. "the banks should have been nationalized as they fucked our economy up" - Banks service a meaningful purpose in economies and anywhere bank nationalization has occured followed massive debt and inflation.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow "Elections should be about the issues, not who's loudest" -And they always HAVE been. "but they don't get to buy our fucking elections" -Again they never do and they never have. "Clearly you're a corporatist and a traitor" -heres what I love about this statement: Corporatist. DO you even know what corporatism is? Of course you dont. Corporatism is where the government controls corporations and threatens them with Nationalization if they dont complie with govt mandates.

  • @GermanConquistador08 First of all, the banks should have been nationalized as they fucked our economy up. Too big to fail is too big to exist. They should have been nationalized, then split into smaller banks. We've tried your free market horse shit for about 30 years and you're killing our middle class. It's time to take our government/society back, and if it hurts corporatist scum like you in the process, it's only more pleasurable for me.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow "Too big to fail is too big to exist" - The too big to fail argument is what got the dems to bail out the banks in the first place first of all. Second, conservative politics actually disagrees with the idea of nationalized banks, because we DO HAVE nationalized banks in the US and they existed before and after this economic crisis. And how can you have small nationalized banks? They are ALL under the umbrella of the federal government.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow "We've tried your free market horse shit for about 30 years and you're killing our middle class" - 30 years? Free Market economics has been in pratice in the US since Jamestown colony, and its the only thing proven across the world, in every era, every continent, and against all others to be the economic method to grow the middle class. And AGAIN I'm not a corporatist, technically YOU ARE because you want MORE nationalization. You dont know ANYTHING of what your talking about

  • @Newenlightenmentnow For example, if the auto industry doesnt preform well, or if a bank doesnt turn a perticular tax revenue, the govt can say "Improve or you'll be nationalized" Corporatism is NOT when Corporations become governments, it the EXACT opposite, which is more a leftist ideal. And traitor? Because I believe in the free market I'm a traitor? Yeah, nice rhetoric there Mr. Reed. Yeah I AM scum, when I advocate for policies that will HELP this country and keep it free.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow 4. I'd assume you'd mean for BOTH parties because Democrats get more money from unions than Big Companies give to Republicans. 5. Again, this doesnt just go for Republicans, Democrats get huge amounts of money from unions and other special interest group. And the term special interest group is meaningless because technically a group lobbing for more government help to war veterns, saving puppies, and envirnmental organizations are ALL special interests groups.

  • @GermanConquistador08 And you have evidence for this? Of course you don't. All statistics point to republicans getting far more money from corporations than democrats get from unions. Sorry your false equivalency argument will get you no where here. Second point, I never said special interest groups fucktard. I said interest groups. All legitimate groups must have their own ballots and vote on an agenda BEFORE approaching a congressman. Might as well make noncompliance a felony too.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow "you have evidence for this? Of course you don't." I'm sure you can look at the statistics yourself. Regardless almost all union contributions go to democrats. I'm merely showing that democrats arent exempt from getting contributions from outside sources. "All legitimate groups" - Whats the difference between a legit group and..what else? "vote on an agenda' - Why is the neccisary in the first place?

  • @GermanConquistador08 A legitimate group represents actual citizens. An illigit group is an astro turf group like the tea party which represents koch industries and pays ignorant stupid people like yourself to go around crashing town hall meetings. A corporation is not a legitimate lobby. Sorry corporations are not people and therefore do not deserve represesentation at all.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow "An illigit group is an astro turf group like the tea party which represents koch industries and pays ignorant stupid people like yourself to go around crashing town hall meetings." - Wow. Ok, first of all the tea party movement is NOT funded exclusively by kock industries. Secondly, yeah democrats dont have ANYTHING like corporate industries funding them, like say greenpeace which spends has raised 200 million dollars compared to Kock's about 50 million

  • @Newenlightenmentnow Also let it be known that Greenpeace has a FLOTILA! Not many corporate industries have their own fleet of ships for political movements. And really? They may PEOPLE to crash town halls? Even though most town halls are dont by middle-class citizens. Koch doesnt need to pay anyone, the anger and support is already there. The Tea party was started by citizens and then was supported by political and economic groups. Thats the definition of grass-roots.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow Over the last 25 years over 425 million dollars has been raised by and for leftist "non-profits" like PIRG, Greenpeace, the FUND and Envirnment california while the average salary for Tea Party citizen workers is...ZERO dollars! If anyone is astro-turf, it shte Democrats. "Sorry corporations are not people" - Corporations HAVE people in them, and THEY deserve represenation through groups like the leftists have too. A corporation is no different than any envirnment lobby.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow Also I enjoy how you called me stupid and ignorant even though I've never been paid for any political volunteer program I've ever been in and I actually study my facts, unlike you who just jumps on the leftist rhetoric of Special Interest groups fund Conservative movements and Koch is funding the teaparty, without any facts whatsoever.

  • @GermanConquistador08 Really fucktard? Here's some proof:

    blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2010/10/14/koch-industries-shifts-on-tea-party/

The wall street journal. Conservative to right wing. Don't you ever accuse me of being uninformed as I will call your ass out on it.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow Want to run for president...please...

  • @RBC1573699 My guess is that I'd end up like Howard Dean or Alan Grayson.

  • @RBC1573699 But thanks for your support!

  • Falgged as SPAM.

  • Those who will mainly benefit from Paul Ryan's plan are those who'll see their tax bracket slashed - those with reported annual income over $373,650.00.

Those who will suffer the most - poor sick children.

  • @DillonDee1 I don't care what tax bracket your in why would anyone want to give the federal government more money to waste? The more you give the more they spend. Until they get their fiscal house in order and start living within their means they don't deserve one dime more from tax payers. Their revenues are more the sufficient to run this country. It is time they cut the overlapping agencies, corporate welfare, military , IRS, cut the fraud waste and abuse.

  • @quizerry -- ppl like to say "It's my money"

    Well it's not all yours.

If an Industralized country is to have highways, bridges, schools, a Def Dept, etc - that's gonna cost around 30%.

The major problem right now is that you're paying 30% & the richest 10% is paying 15%

    And that's not fair.

  • @quizerry If the government doesn't "waste" the money, where the military industry can rake in money from? Are you serious about not giving the federal government rights to "waste" money? I doubt it!!! Is has been proved again and again that the "conservative - who is not at least from government spending point of view" is not interested in reducing spending. They are only interested in cutting basic life safety net and protect the riches wealth. Remember, GE doesn't pay tax, I do!

  • It's time for the experts to come out and start ridiculing the ridiculous idea of supply side economics. The overwhelming majority of my econ professors thought the idea was a lie at best. It's based on the laffer curve, which postulates that higher taxes lead to lower revenues. It's never been proven true. Finally, laffer, being the conservative liar that he is, always drew a normal curve, but where was the point where revenues decreased? At the crest (50%), no it was 35%. Lying asshole

  • @Newenlightenmentnow -- simple-minded people draw a simple "conclusion" from the Laffer Curve - that the more you lower the tax rate, the more revenue you receive

If this were true, you would receive the most tax revenue with a 0% tax rate - which is preposterous.

Is it possible for revenue to go down if the Max Tax Rate is raised too high? Yes, but it'd have to be very high in most cultures - from 1941 to l981 the Max USA Rate ranged from 70%-91% & they generated more income.

  • @DillonDee1 Yes exactly. The one econ professor I had who DID think the Laffer curve was great did the same disingenuous crap that i spoke of. I drew the threshhold at 35%. I raised my hand and said, excuse me. How come the graph clearly shows revenue continuing to climb upt to 50%? I said I thought he was lying to further an agenda. He back pedaled and gave me no explaination at all. He also though the situation of unending trade deficit with china was sustainable. Educated moron.

  • The best econ professor I ever had was from Germany, during my MBA. He was a keynsian, so the austrian morons can get it out of their system now. What I loved about him is that he required people to know math. If you use this approach, the principles that you learn in Econ 101 are a lot less arbitrary. He also demonstrated the macroeconomic principles he taught and backed it by research and evidence.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow good comment, but conservatives don't follow austrian/chicago school of econ even if they like to say they do.

  • @UCMolosser I know its more of a libertarian thing. However, whenever I bring up Keynes, which remains the most credible school of economics, I get flooded with morons from the austrian school. The problem is, the austrian school rarely publishes peer reviewed papers. They produce books, but that's different from peer review. That tells me that they're afraid of scientific scrutiny.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow I understand; I'm not taking sides on the matter. Just wanted to point out the lack of conservative understanding and/or adherence to the Austrian school.

  • @Newenlightenmentnow If Keynes were alive today he would be shocked at how they twisted his theories.

  • all these politicians no matter what their ideologies are,are leeches, republicans want money and power.

democrats want power and wants to be a control freak

i hope that there is an alien invasion soon,id rather die instantly because of an alien invasion than these leeches slowly killing us by taking our money away and giving it to the rich

  • @thenvdude I'm sorry to say that won't happen. So it's up to us to kick these assholes out of our house.

  • OBAMA 2012 !

  • @Spartinez Yes, but where is Obama we voted for? This one seems to be allowing the military run things.

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists and the hopes of its children" -- President Dwight Eisenhower

  • @pemaquidz Hey i understand what you mean. I like to see things differently though. For 1 i noticed that from day 1 seriously day 1 all the conservative media was already attacking the incoming Prez. I also see that while it does seem that the prez is governing all wild, i do know that a republican prez would be worse. My final thought is which of the lesser evil will you choose. I rather go with Obama only because Republicans sound way off there rocker... Thats just my opinion... =)

  • Wait so did Cenk finally get his own show?? GREAT!

  • Republican politicians are evil bastards.

  • Wow.....America is always drama central when it comes to politics

    Canada FTW 8)

  • Chomsky said the same thing....

  • Well, facts do have a well-known Liberal bias..

  • @Saaduk92 actually reality has a well-known Liberal bias...

    go figure.

  • I KNEW ALL THESE YRS. YOU BASTARDS WERE GOV'T...I FUCKIN KNEW IT!! MSNBC ALL OF A SUDDEN?

  • @bomshizzleful

Dude, of course they were - Air America, Youtube front page rising vid exposure, MSNBC to sell war in the middle east and africa, disinformation.

Anyone on television who calls himself a progressive should be investigated.

  • @jag10 Agreed. Thanks for the clarity, fam.

  • That's what I'm talkin about.

  • Democrats could have submitted a budget for 2011 by September 30th 2010. Remember?

At that time they were still in charge of the house, senate, & presidency.

Now nearly 7 months later they want to blame the Republicans? ..............Seriously? LMAO!!! Come on!!!!

The American people are smart enough to see the truth even if the Dems & media try & say otherwise.

    EPIC FAIL!!!

  • @urbanpanhandler Personally, I don't think we'll get our government back until there's a revolution, either bloody or bloodless. Both parties are corrupt and rotten to the core. Both parties are controlled by the lobbyists. How democratic is a system that says, "never mind what the overwhelming majority wants their government to do to solve problem X, we're keeping it how it is because company X profits, and they give us money"? How is that democracy?

  • Middle-Lower Income Republicans=Highly misunderstood heavily medicated adults obsessively scratcthing their inner masochism issues!

  • Oh Yeah, Bam, Take that GOP. All they want to do is shutdown the Gov't to make Obama look bad so that they can play political shenanigans with the Money.

Please man, we're on to your shit, go back an get a real budget plan, you assholes.

  • I am curious as to why abortion got into this issue... shouldn't that be the last thing on anyone's mind right now?

  • Paul Ryan, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Eric Cantor, Scott Walker, and the 2 Koch Brothers are the 7 ppl who disliked this video.

  • @PBCrewOfficial you forgot Rand Paul,Michele Bachmann, and Donald Trump

  • @PBCrewOfficial That's ok, most of us hate those traitors

  • This is a tragedy. I am sick to my stomach to know that this is where our country is headed...

  • Liberal budget exposed. Oh yeah, I forgot, there is no liberal budget. They could have come up with a budget back in October when they had all the power, but I guess it's much easier to blame everyone else.

  • @Standonarock They would had had one if they told the Rethugs to fuck themselves and not tried to work with a bunch of fascists that say no to everything - FUCK YOU.

  • used to like cenk. not anymore. granted, repubs are douche bags, still hes biased and never criticizes democrats.

  • @XtQfH He does criticize democrats. He criticized obama yesterday lol And he criticizes him a lot.

  • So when do we start breaking things?

  • But the GOP are true Christians who hate gay people and abortions. Keep voting for them.

  • Rand Paul's 200 billion dollar budget cut plan is much more solid then Ryan's. Paul even said that Ryan made a mistake for not seeing through that the debt will actually increase and he also criticizes Ryan for not cutting any spending in military budget.

if you want REAL budget cut by taking out unnecessary federal departments, look into Rand's budget cut plan.

Rand's plan eliminate Department of education, energy, housing, commerce, and etc...

and don't forget about the military budget

  • Fuckin crackas!!!!

  • america was founded upon capitalism. america must stay true to its capitalistic roots. a world without capitalism there is no reason to exist.

  • Tax the top 1% at 99% this year - that will do it, then apply their money to Obama's 2011 projected budget deficit..

Wha? what do you mean it would only cover half of this year's budget deficit?

Ok, let's confiscate the 1% wealth - then eat those greedy fuckers...

Wha? what do you mean it would only reduce our National debt by 25%.

Wha? What do you mean we are printing money and food prices are going to rise by 60% this year?

GEnk said everything is cool... we just tax rich people.

  • @jag10 Spot on. These people just don't get it. We haven't got a revenue or tax problem. We have a spending problem. And while Obama can't be solely blamed, he takes enormous responsibility for ballooning the deficit.

You should check out the video "Eat the Rich" on the BillWhittleChannel here on youtube.

  • @Politicimo

Thanks bro, I'll check it out.

Funny that people pay so much attention to this tiny shit, they can't see the obvious.

Just last night I had a discussion with a rich guy, who has short gold positions, strategically defaulted on his mortgage, and just bought a 100k convertible.

He believes inflation is a good thing, Libya and Egypt were Democratic revolutions, and that doing blow with hedge fund managers makes him cool...

  • I think it says in the US Constitution that everyone should have free healthcare and social security.

Americans are born into the world's richest and most successful country. Should they be able to do nothing with their lives in the land of opportunity that millions of people try desperately to get into, the people who fail should get paid full time at their fellow citizens' expense. It's all in the Constitution...take a look.

  • great segment cenk! you convinced me a long time ago, but thanks for getting the word out.

  • socialism is the ultimate form of evil. people that believe in socialism are evil and need to die

  • @lvll138inrs ....praise the lord? :(

  • @lvll138inrs compelling argument. i see you didn't want to bore us with some facts.

  • Why does this not surprise me? I have been telling people for the past 4 years. Republicans will fuck you up the ass. Republicans are NOT on your side, they are not for equality, they are not for common sense and fact. They only care about their own pockets. When will you people wake up?!!!!

  • What crack pipe are you smoking, Cenk?

We already hit 100% of US National Debt as percentage of GDP!

    Go to usgovernmentspendingdotcom

    us national debt chart

'US National Debt As Percent of GDP'

See the blue graph exceed the 100% bar?

You are not factoring in Social Security and Medicare obligations. YOU CAN'T DO THAT! You're the one playing the CON game! Your 62% figure is not the full truth.

  • @RAMKING61

Eh not totally true, kinda hard to explain because Im not all that great in explaining Economics, So im sending you an PM with a link to a Business Insider (the website) article that explains it.
