Forgetting or not the legitimacy of this show, would a dagger to the brain "stop" a zombie? Its not just do damage and its lights out. Its sever the brain stem. Great, you made skull analog. Kudos - but til you go though the stem... (which I don't think it would get stuck there either) I don't think penetration of a skull is enough proof. Not to mention, actually decapitating something would take tons of wrist strength to go though a bone, i.e. Spine. Thoughts?
