All I know is some people in a cave in Afghanistan are not plotting a perfect hijack, and crashing two planes to a building and into the pentagon. Allah knows best and of course his command goes first thats without saying. I would never deny that.
Wow never seen so many Muslims mad over a movie. It's easy to attack another Muslim but not the people who betray us a terrorist. You guys keep quiet then. There is no perfect muslim the base of the story is struggle with his own identity, then 9/11 happens and it shows how they were treated differently then. there is more important things like a united Ummah that should be on the Muslims mind

You didn't give salaams. Allah and His Commands are FIRST and LAST - not Muslims. Many Muslims addressed each issue that you outlined. The US did not prove that Muslims attacked the World Trade Center. Allah Knows Best who really committed that crime.
first of all do you think muslims should be portrayed in movies as perfect muslims ? this is not reality, first there are no perfect muslims second this is a drama ,make believe movie. this is not a documentary on qasims life and if your so strict sister why are you watching movies? watching poeple kiss hug etc is also not permitted
Peace, If you're not a Muslim I definitely don't expect you to understand. Prove to me that a Muslim is wrong who watches what was supposed to be a positive and upbeat Movie about Islam?
Your last sentence proves one of my points exactly about this movie.
This is the first time that I've come across this claim of yours, that this movie is make-believe. In all the articles and other Videos that I've read or listened to, this movie is supposed to be based upon Qasim's real life experiences.
Muslims, whether we are weak or strong, are not supposed to support each other in spreading evil in the land, regardless if the stories are true or lies.
Allah mentions in the Qu'ran: O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allah), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner.Sura Al-Azab: 32.
In this interview Qasim say's that he is going to present something other than the same themes of extremism and terrorism. Many Muslim's are complaining and disappointed because Qasim promised something different, but has instead delivered the same themes of extremism and terrorism.
rrr sorry sis proof of what? that a lot of what goes on in the schools and the muslim youth imitating the kufar as was portrayed in this movie is false? or you putting your voice on this forum? Or maybe he should not make a movie that shows what is already in the media, and portray something different?

Proof from The Quran for your position of justifying the whole Movie of Mooz-lum; Proof from The Quran for your position of calling other people's viewpoint 'ridiculous'.
Qasim's sins of drinking, kissing, and hugging a woman that was not his wife, were from his own personal doing. No one was standing over him forcing him to do those major sins.
Do you not understand that Allah DOES NOT LIKE the broadcasting of evil? What if every Muslim told their stories and went into the major sins that they committed? Speaking about his situations in the Elementary and Islamic Schools is different from exposing his sins as a man.
@SaboorahAmatuRahmaan Assalamulaikum Sister, I appreciate your insightful critique of the movie. I do see the validity in many of your points, however, I would like to investigate them a little more to determine how sound they really are. I hope you don't mind. Do you feel that the overall power of the message overrules the individual elements of the movie? Or, do you feel that it would be possible to retain this same power, without the 'haraam' aspects of the movie?
@EnjoiningKnowlege Further, do you feel that it is unhealthy for Muslims to pretend that such problems (alcohol, rape, inefficient methods of teaching Islam by imposing it etc.) do not exist? Of course, this does not mean that acknowledging the existence of such problems means having to portray them in explicit ways. However, this is one of the critique of the movies too - based on wanting to hide from the reality of the problems that are very real. This is not your criticism though.
@EnjoiningKnowlege Also, some have raised the point that just as the early Muslims had to face very difficult situations with much corruption, Muslims today need to face such situations. They argue that the movie enables us to face such situations, but demonstrates that in the end Truth and Goodness heal even the worst of situations. Do you feel there are ways that are in keeping with Islamic principles, which can send an equally powerful message to the youth? Any suggestions?
@EnjoiningKnowlege The reason I ask this is because Muslims must take urgent action and take advantage of multimedia to present Islam, and spiritually uplifting material such that they stay in line with Islam. You raise this point by saying how we Muslims should never use other people's shortcomings for our own benefit. However, what about using other people's journeys - their mistakes, but the improvement they undergo - as a source of inspiration?
no offense to anyone who don't agree with this movie. But please stop talking as if he's started this view of non muslims thinking bad of us. That's something we've done for ourselves. And you can ask any person who ever known of a muslim most of us don't practice just like most christians or jews. So, who's giving us a bad view? this is ridiculous....
Peace, Please present your proofs from The Quran for YOUR judgements about this situation. Do you know that Allah, in The Quran, Surah or Chapter An-Nisaa, The Women, 5:44, Has given Muslims PERMISSION to make judgements according to the Knowledge in The Quran?
Allah Say's:
"... If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are Unbelievers."
Are you, respectthewoman, judging according to what Allah Has Revealed, or are you making your judgments based upon your own personal thoughts and emotions? Do you realize that YOU too are judging?
no one knows the struggles of this brother well enough to point our unjust yet judgemental fingers. And being a muslim woman is it even wise to have point your voice out there in this manner? It seems that we'll continue to have issues as long as we are self-righteous and close-minded. There are so many girls and boys who've left Islaam for the same reason if not other reasons that Qasim had. I know them I've seen them. Its a growing number due to our lack of understand
"Based on how I was raised, I was born and raised Muslim in America, and, um, I learned a lot of things in my life, um, which are opposite of what's being portrayed, as what Islam is nowadays, the whole extremism, ah, terrorism angle; So um, I felt it necessary being a film maker, to write something about that, um, it was in my heart to do so; So that was my inspiration."
My question to you respectthewoman, how was the Movie Mooz-lum OPPOSITE of extremism?
About me speaking, Muslim women have been silenced by information other than The Quran. Allah does NOT forbid Muslim women from speaking publicly. I did my best to not speak in a soft voice.
Again YOU are being judgemental. Please present your proof from The Quran to justify your positions.
Many people have left Islam because they didn't really believe in Allah; Many have also left Islam because they did not learn to separate man's oppression from Allah's Commandments; Many people have also left Islam because they love the world more than they love Allah.
walaakum salaam sister Saboorah may Allah help us all. But I have to totally support Qasim's direction of this film. Because its the truth lived. I also appreciated and understand your point. But, like Qasim I has to endure going to public schools and having my scarf torn off of my head. I and many muslims like me dealt with the pressures of schools, the lack of support from the muslim communities, etc. we have too many muslims who preach yet dont truly help
As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatulahi Wa Barakatu, Sister. I was displeased with the bad representation of what the director may have viewed as being a realistic portrayal of his life. There were a great deal of haraam and inappropriate actions committed and I believe those things far outweighed the good in it. It gave a bad impression to ill-informed Muslims and non-Muslims about Islamic and Un-Islamic behavior.
