is there a recording of this played anywhere else? (it has the sound of a cold echo - if you know what I mean.!). would love to hear an alternative mandolin recording.. is there one?
well..tyhis is new in my books..I thought it was a very good offshoot of the karl Jenkins..this piece of musioc is hypnotising no matter what instruments are used?? Great stuff..loved the video
Hi @lolasmummy, No not exactly; it is a plucked bass. A true Basso Pizzicato. This particular instrument was made in Italy esspecially for the use in mandolin orchestras and is called a 'Chitarrone moderno'.
This is really a fantastic piece of music and a perfect arrangement for mandolin orchestra - just watched the version with Jenkins as conductor and electric harp (please check the link in your text - it did not work properly)
Thank you, Mandolsland! It is indeed a wonderful composition (the link in the info text to Mr. Jenkins conducting his Palladio does work now (thanks for pointing out).
From Peru I appreciated this song

I didn't realize Karl Jenkins wrote this. I always just thought it was the jewelry commercial song. Mandolin version is sweet, too.
