wrong. 1 was killed in the accident. i read it on da a bnsf website. the engineer that ran the signal was on his cell phone and miss his earlier signal to let him know je was supposed to stop at his next signal. and wen he came up on the next one he threw on the e-brake and jumped for it. dont know if he suvived or not.

so what caused it exactly?

the cause was the eastbound train that caused the accident. the crew on board were asleep, and all three were dog tired.. conductor was coming off a high of cocaine, brakey was on his first trip out of the yard, and the hog, was notorius for running into back of train. The other crew on the train, which I do know and worked with, are still in bad shape.. the hog is on surgery number 5 or 6, and conductor is just not himself anymore.. Kismet is on the outskirts of Madera, Ca.
