  • Patrick, the new queen!

  • Honest to GOD i have heard so many great singers in my lifetime....but nobody can get into me as deeply as Aretha Franklin can. She can make me feel every word she is singing all down in my bones i can feel her.

  • fire the the video person. Aretha you will always be awesome in my book

    Queen forever

  • Holy crap. Aretha's great, but that guy singing with her has some PIPES!!!!!!!!!

  • What a let down - Aretha didn't even know the words and could hardly sing what she had right in front of her, guess she was having vocal concerns etc. Ms Franklin is now in 'my humble opinion' past her prime, everytime I see her she gives less than stellar performances. Where is the new Queen? Patti LaBelle still has her voice and vigor ... I pray Aretha can redeem herself and stop riding on her old glory - with all due respect.

  • @DRGladden I don't know what you were looking at... But Aretha still got it! The thing about being GREAT, is you don't have to prove anything to anybody anymore..

She has made a name for herself, People will come out and Pay just to SEE Aretha.. We all know Aretha is getting close to 70 years old, and Nobody but YOU is looking for a 30 year old Aretha.....

  • @Ovaljean : My opinion wasn't that I wanted the Aretha of yester year it was that she's not giving her performances as much as she used to vocally & that it's understandable. I merely was stating that if Ms Franklin can't render the song as befits one of her calibre she should just decline to do it rather than tarnish her crown with in my opinion lack luster performances.

  • @DRGladden Just take a listen to how Aretha treats each verse. It's incredible. Patti Labelle has never and will never take the time Aretha does to caress a verse and make it just ooze with soul. To me, Patti Labelle has always and will always sound like a screaming mess. She's not worthy of being called the Queen of anything.

  • @ZebFAN2010 : Reading through my comment I simply stated that Ms LaBelle still had the clarity and vocal range she's been known for "screaming mess" or not, I did not say Ms LaBelle was Queen of anything but asked where is the new Queen of Soul was. Everyone knows the only reign that won't end is that of King Jesus.

  • @DRGladden There is no New Queen of Soul nor will there ever be one! Aretha is the Queen of Soul and she will always wear her crown even in death! Aretha's reign won't end either, she is the one and only Lady Soul and forever will she carry that title!

  • At times she, don't need to open of mouth & this clip justfies my point. Ree; can sing, granted but her voice, isn't worth listening sometimes. I, preffer to find the quality & flaw in things, that's life.

  • She sounded ok at Mandela's B-day celebration but not better then Josh Rogin, during their duet. Her vocal performance at dancing with the stars was worth tuning into.

  • Duh, you idiot!

  • If, that's your story then stick to it , just as I stick with my comments.

  • That young man brought his A-game, I'm surprise Ree was able to keep-up, with her damage & out of style voice. Decent duet.

  • There's SoulSir again... with his undying support for "Aretha Franklin"... sigh...

  • There's a fine line between opinion and being a realist.....I'm a realist & the quality of Ree's voice has diminish. She still can sing but for the most part, her vocal days are long gone.

  • Comment removed

  • Ree, wasn't threatened. Its quite the opposite when someone sings with her, the other person feels intimidated. p.s. yeah. realist.

  • I, have a life so I don't follow her concerts like that.

  • i love it both of them can sing and his high r good just to much runnin sing young man Sista Franklin you go girl

  • How beautiful!

  • I just noticed the woman is reading the lyrics and YET she still sounds as if she's been nailing this since them New Bethel days. AMAZING.

She don't think too much of the young man tho.

    x

  • Is that Billy Always back there?

  • He has a great voice but hes doing absolutely TOO MANY riffs and runs. Moderation is KEY my brotha, keep the riffs and runs moderate and they will be much more appreciated....and man it up a lil bit, just cause you sing high dont mean you should sound like a female.....good job though!

  • She can sing it the way she sees fit!

  • lol

  • DAMN RIGHT!

  • why not post a video of you singing, Mr High & Mighty Judge

  • he??? ummmm.... lol

  • Thats my cousin....way to go Patrick!
