Actually, sexual abuse by women is what makes the news - not the other way around. Sexual abuse, regardless of whether the perpetrator is male or female, is wrong; no one is debating that. No one is dismissing the fact that boys too get abused. We are, however, discussing a culture that blames and dismisses victims, denies the realities of abuse, and encourages men to aggressively sexually pursue women. Rape culture.

By denying the fact that we live in a culture that encourages sexual violence (i.e. that victim blames - focuses on the behaviour of the victim, not the perpetrator, that believes that sexual assault is this "rare" crime perpetuated by "crazy people" versus recognizing that it is a frequently perpetuated crime against women, girls, boys and men by people without mental illness) you are contributing to a rape culture.What is it about recognizing the realities of sexual violence that scares you?

I challenged your belief that perpetrators are a few crazy, abnormal people. But sexual violence is incredibly prevalent. It is nice to think that perpetrators suffer from mental illness - but the fact is, most don't. Sexual violence, whether perpetrated by men or women, is about power - not "misunderstanding no" or "being crazy".
