  • 1:40 = I feel so much emotion during this riff

  • Excellence

  • I love that album. But Garm sais clearly that the rumor of it being recorded outside is a tric by their ex-label Century Media to sell more CDs. It's false. See the Interview on the Lychantropen DVD. Ulver is perfect.

  • @UnderTheFuneralMoon

    Don't

underestimate the power of norwegian trees!

  • Hails this is the Ulver I was a fan of knot so much now but their early stuff was some of the best black metal I have ever heard this whole album was recorded out side by the way \m/ \m/

  • great stuff ,but total darkthrone worship.

  • Infernal HAILS to this album, a real masterpiece...

  • When I hear Ulvers old Works, I feel deep inside me beats a wolfsheart!

    Hail Ulver

    Hail true black metal

  • dette albumet er så sinsykt bra. det gir meg så mye ... blir aldrig til å gå lei av det. det bare våkser!!!!

  • Eternal Art is captured in this album....a masterpiece.

  • Black metal beauty...

  • Vayanse a la concha de su madre boludos, que mierda es esto?

  • hail to the madrigal era!

    it was perfect here.great stuff!!

  • @eisendorn After studying this....this is the best black metal to ever grace the shelves of any black metal ever

  • Great stuff! :)

BTW, is that cocaine on the wolf's nose? jk

  • That is to say; a lot of these great innovations in music will be reused by pointless popularizations of the riffs in the end. With no reference to the original. It might take some time, 50 years at most. But I don't really need to be around then. Want is another thing. Wanting something and needing is another. Wanting is to lack, need is something I can understand, but don't do. So I like the wolf in man, what I want is reality for that kind of thinking. What I need is more beer.

  • The point in all Norwegian black metal was to create an emotional response, to do great emotional music in the extreme metal. This song does that, it is one of those great songs that will live on long after people have forgotten who it was created by, or for why it was created by. Sort of the antithesis, but also what it really was meant to be. Eternal music, instead of the popular simple rock'n'roll, or pop that is based on it. You can do great things as long as it's not what is expected.

  • i don't know why but after i watch this video i gonna buy a wolf

  • @horriblequin

I will buy a German Shepard, a Norwegian Elkhound, a Siberian Husky, a Wolf of some sort, and throw in a little black-colored Shih Tzu between the pack.

  • who would seriously want to listen to metal that wasn't recorded in a random cave in norwegian forests?

  • @Runesofgaelic I prefer Hymn I

  • I have a dog like that

  • @GodOvEpicness

    epic, i like that

  • @GodOvEpicness Its called a European Wolf...

  • @Runesofgaelic hymn 1 is pretty damn good too. The accoustic in that is a teaser. But 3 edges hymn 1 out just a little and has a truly sad feeling in it.

  • @BF1 personally i prefer hymn one because of its acoustic part which i thinks putts it above this hymn, but hell we all got opinions, right? And Nattens Madrigal is simply amazing through and through.

  • @ih8makinusernames Well in reality I think my opinion has changed from time to time on this one. Yes, Hymn 1 is just that good, that depending on my mood I switch my answer to Hymn 1 being better. It sounds really inconsistent of me but it's the truth. Ulver at this time just made you feel this way, they were this good. So, I dont really disagree with you either. The accoustics in it make a phenomenal arguement for first place.

  • @ih8makinusernames In brief, isn't that a good problem to have in your record (Ulver) to confuse the listener so much that they cant even decide to be consistent with what song they feel is best in your album??

  • Seriously. It wouldn't have been better with a good sound quality ? I mean, look at Dissection, they had a great sound and great songs and it was really awesome.

  • Hey wolf, clean your nose man....Are you hearing me?! =\...hmmm...he just keep looking... =(

    Someone clean that nose! =/

  • Hellhammer drummed for them on their first EP :D

  • whats up with black metal and forests?

  • The Inheritance of the Earth?

  • I guess

  • Ever been lost in a forest? its the darkest, blackest, most brutal, experience a human can have. A secluded place surrounded by snow and wolves, its pretty brutal.

  • no they use a generator

  • They don't have to use a generator. They could've used an Rv or if they used a generator, they could of had some really long extension cables and play far away from the generator so the generator sound wouldn't be recorded.

  • true, but with the right recording equipment they could remove the generator sound, and it would be easy to pull off in that way

  • Actually, you could pull off recording in the forest, you need a noisy generator though, so playing loud isn't an option, it's mandatory. Why do it though, when you can start a rumour you've done it?

  • Well, it'd sound cool, and it'd be more difficult to simulate in a studio.

  • Incredible riff

  • thats ulver!

    i mean...just the 3 first albums...

now they are a completely different band...

    excellent records!

  • this album is excellent.

  • one of the best records all time

  • Of all time!!!!!!

  • fuck off kanye. <3 ulver

  • Fucking great. Nattens Madrigal is such an awesome album as a whole.

  • ULVER ARE THE NORTH THEY ARE THE BEST!

  • Thanks for the video :)

  • Not in forest.

  • i no its black metal but can they up the quality just a lil it hard to hear the notes

  • And it's hard to understand what you've written here... It is barely recognizable as English.

  • sounds amazing in good headphones! plus I think they recorded this album in a forest with shitty equipment! That's what I heard anyway.

  • HAHA, dude obviously you don't understand Black Metal... and you suck at english.

  • their later stuff was weird xD

  • The best of the album

  • Pure beatiful black metal. Very Ulver. Wolves.

  • The beste of the first Ulver era. Not as mystic as Perdition City, but fucking good.

  • EVIL

  • I was listening to Bergatt and just about everything except this album. I'm amazed they were so amazingly raw, pure, and evil sounding. This is really awesome. I'm going to have to buy this and Bergatt. I've yet to listen to their second album but I wouldn't doubt their genius by this stage.

  • simply the best black metal album in my opinion...when i listen to this album...i just cut my skin...

  • the best ulver era.

  • actually this album was intentionally underproduced to make it sound more "True", kinda lame but oh well, still a great album

  • I used to like the newer waves of black metal, but the first time I heard this older stuff, my opinion changed completely! WHERE DID ALL THIS ORIGINALITY GO?

  • the song is of wolf and hatred. it was difficult for me to find this, so i recommend you to update video info.

  • lol Hitler drinking and running in a very dark forest. Garm hits the evil tone perfectly.

  • Ulver is an incredible band, very underrated, they have made original and interesting music in a lot of different types of music... This song kicks ass!

  • It was not. Just a rumor. ULVER FTW!!!

  • My favorite Ulver song

  • Best Ulver song and one of the best Black Metal songs in history.

  • god I love this song. I would say this is my favorite song off of that album, but every song is my favorite song off of that album.

  • indeed

  • One of my favorites songs... Ulver is fucking great!!!

  • epic

  • brilliant.

  • these guys are pretty good but too much backround noise.
